NORTHERN MARKETS
Episode 75

11:34 (3:34 PM)
Huge thick gray clouds set in blocking the Sun’s lethal rays as the bowmen descended on BorderTown
on their flying boards.
Bow Mistress and Maple Hero Rachel Luka, level 165, pressed her foot on the gas button on her Ignace flying board, firing up the jets even more. The magic radar or Meiger Counter mounted on the front end of her board beeped louder and more frequently.
“Luka!” A voice ehoed over the loudspeaker on her messenger. It was from the communication room in aboard the Hyuit.
“What?”
“2000 feet ahead is a magic concentrated source! Eliminate all moving targets!” read more

NORTHERN MARKETS
Episode 74: Calm before Storm

11:24 SEA Time / 3:24 PM Victoria Time
15,000 feet above Kashkun, 17 miles south of the New Saskatchewan border

It was about an hour before the Sun set behind the towering Sinorean Mountains to the southwest, and already the clouds over Kashkun were tainting a beige-ish color.

The RKS Hyuit was one of Roika’s fastest of the large class airships. The main body looked like a sleek v-shaped missile like structure with a giant powerful jet in the back. The wooden body had decks and flat surfaces on the top like any ship, but attached to it were two giant jets, each 75 feet long. Giant sail like structures were attached to the body and jets pointing down, up, starboard (right), and port (left). Unlike most of Roika’s ships, the Hyuit did not feature a giant balloon of air to carry it; instead, the ship was built almost entirely out of “aansteker-chem-Luft” or ACL wood, which is harvested from the super tall thick trees in the Darkon-3 region. The heavy metal of the jets, engines, and everything else served as a counter balance to keep ACL ships from ‘falling’ into the sky. read more

Episode 73: Condemed

Time slowed down for Owl, in fact, time literally crawled to a halt. It would be a hundredth of a millisecond to the second. Owl just stared. The shining DragonSoul arrow glided in slow motion towards her. She tried desperately to move but she was literally paralyzed.
The evil glare in the Ranger’s face was so menacing it scared her. She pressed her eyes shut and waited for the end, and then it all happened too fast. read more

<LOCAL[Kerning City]>
[KCP FOIL ‘SEVERE’ TERRORIST ATTACK PLOT]
The Kerning City Police’s SWAT teams busted what could have been the biggest terror disaster in Kerning City’s history.

Yesterday afternoon, the KCP acted swiftly on a tip and stormed the QiangKang building in Chiangi Square, just accross the Janzsoon River, and discovered several thousand pounds of radioactive hackium powder. More than 25 men and women, all who were hackers, magicians, or Permanoobs were arrested and many more were detained.
Among the radioactive items discovered, the SWAT found stock piles of weapons, pre-made Arrow bombs, magic explosives, and poison gases. According to articles siezed from the suspects’ homes accross Kerning and Yazhou, the suspects plotted to set off more than 50 dirty bombs throughout the Naples Valley, mainly in districts and towns containing right-wing pro JA populations. The biggest hit was planned in the small city of Westborough, which is believed to be the Justice Arrow’s center of operations and the core center for all of the antagonistic religions. read more

Episode 72

11:00 SEA time [3 PM]
More Grasslanders arrived and dropped off their loads of Sasko troops in and around Border Town.
The troops all got the message and the army assumed command of the operation. They quickly and quietly gathered up the people they needed to help fight the Justice Arrow’s bowmen. The residents who couldn’t fight (old people, children, others, etc) moved to areas away from the south east districts on the Kashkun side of town. This area was where the JA’s warehouse was located. The massive silver Quonset structure was the size of a soccer field. read more

Episode 71: Calm Before the Storm

Border Town

The awesome invisible Electromagnetic barrier could only be seen by the changes in the clouds above.
The clouds over the south were gray and spread out, but the black clouds over New Saskatchewan were
gigantic and menacing looking. While the Sun’s light still beamed down on Border Town from the southwest side of the
sky, the giant black cloud formation drifted right into the EM barrier, and as if blocked by some invisible force,
the cloud spread out east and west along the border. The weather station outside of town issued a storm alert. read more

<FLIGHT PATH TO LEAFRE OPENS TO PUBLIC>
Orbis, OSS
–After months of intense negotiation between the administrations of the Korean Lands and Orbis, the KL government
has finally agreed to allow the general public [civilians] to fly to Riprey.
The blue painted Airbus A381 jumbo jet marked ‘BLUEBIRD II’, loaded with 500 passengers, mainly level 120’s and corporate personnel, took to the sky at 7:00 am Orbis Time. The original BlueBird aircraft is in Riprey under repairs at the time. The flight lasted eight hours and touched town at Riprey Air Station at 3 PM, and the passengers were welcomed by the mayors of Leafre and Riprey.
The flight path was opened to Southern Maplers after years of intense talks between the governments of the Korean Lands and Orbis. Originally, only level 120 Maplers who applied months in advance were allowed to fly to the Korean Lands, and only business travellers were allowed to fly to Orbis. The landmark decision to allow the Southern maplers to Leafre is an outcome of the November motion to allow SEA Lands couples to Victoria from Singapura via Leafre and Orbis.
For the time being, flights departing and arriving will be on a weekly basis every Wednesday until further notice.

Border Town

[This is just a naddition to my series]
BORDER TOWN, KASHKUN/NSK
Population: 45000+/-
Ethnic Mix: 67% Sasko, 14% Azn, 13% Kashkuni, 5% Victorian, 1% other.
Languages: Saskwa, Mandarin, Kashkuni, Singlish/English, native

Border Town is one of the hundreds of frontier cities, towns and villages that are located on New Saskatchewan’s borders. It is the last stop before trekking into the Great Unknown. Seen on a map, Border Town sits right on the political border between Kaskkun and New Saskatchewan. However, because the town is located past Purpell Ridge, the assumed border, Border Town is home to more Sasko people even though much of the town is in Kashkun.
To the south is Purpell Ridge, a line of hills covered by a forest of red crystal-like alien plants towering 8 to 15 feet high.
Biologists from all over the SEA Lands came here to study the alien plants and confirmed their growth is caused by the solar and cosmic radiation affecting the chemicals and proteins in the plants. Another factor is that the plants were also affected by powerful magnetic influences as the EM barrier passes right along the ridge.
To the south past Purpell Ridge are the barren mountains that grow only mosses and grasses, and nothing weird beyond that. The limit of the wierd plants or the ridge has always been viewed as the actual border by the Sasko people. read more

Episode 70: Refugees Revenge

Owl Spirit finished her vocal report in front of the Sasko people. She had to pause all the time so the guy standing next to her could repeat everything in Saskwa.
The fluorescent light was bright, and lit up the whole room. The wood walls and ugly green carpet made it look more like a 1970’s recreation room, but currently the room was full of chairs and tables. It was one of the KMR’s meeting rooms.
“…häìłki makơ azmǒnn” the guy finished. Owl sighed in relief. She just told them everything she knew about the Justice Arrow from the time she lived with them up until today.
The 7 Sasko people nodded. They didn’t look all that different from other Maplers, really. One of the few distinctions was their green and yellow hair, and the silver iris in their eyes. The eyes made them kind of freaky looking.
A few of them were wearing just T-shirts, and Owl noticed they had more hair on their arms and necks than other people.
Cheech sat behind the Saskoes next to Azure who fell asleep with her head on the side table. read more
