This is yet another post about hackers.

However, unlike the majority of the posts that come before it this is a post written by a major computer geek with heavy programming, internet and database background who’s been analyzing the way that the game is run. I’m also a hacker, not in the terms of using a program someone else wrote to do things but writing my own software to modify values inside a running program or game. I do it for the challenge of it and sometimes to provide features for games that the developers neglected to put in (a.k.a. a save feature). I’m all for people cheating on games when there’s nothing besides personal enjoyment involved as they are just ruining the experience of having real game playing skills. I strongly dislike it when people cheat on community games where other people than themselves are involved, like MMORPG games. read more

So what happened to the poor Nependeaths?

If you head over to Orbis and hunt Nependeaths for a while you’ll find out that some of the Nependeaths don’t make any noise at all when you hit them. Then there are other Nependeaths that do make noise when you hit them.

These seem to be two completely different types of enemies as all of the Neps that make noise also will attack you as soon as you walk into their area. If you have Dark Sight and walk around past them they will follow your character back and forth, even though they can’t attack you. They also spawn in the exact same places each time and take about five times as long to spawn as the silent Neps. read more

I was talking to someone one day and he was talking about the great drops he had gotten that day and I was asking how he had such good luck. He told me he just is normally lucky but he was also using a secret that only the pros know about that helps with drops. I was really suspicious of this as I’ve known people who like to brag that they know things you don’t and they won’t tell you them (Cuz it’s a secret). Of course, if they don’t tell you then you can’t really believe them so it doesn’t really do any good. read more

I hit level forty the other day and I’ve been looking for a challenge as it’s getting a little boring just fighting and fighting and fighting with no real changes so I figured I’d do something crazy and solo Mushmom.

I checked channel after channel in the beginning looking for an empty spot and eventually found one. While I was waiting there I was killing iron pigs over and over again. People would suddenly show up and some would leave without a problem but some would wait until they saw that I was still playing before they left. read more

Could the Wizet people help curb hacking by putting a bounty on the heads of hackers?

Why not make it so that if someone gets physical proof of hacking (movie or screenshots) then the wizet people give them Maple Points? Something like 1000 NX cash worth of maple points for each hacker caught and banned?

Do you think this could help curb some of the hacking problem as more people would actively take a role in catching them? read more

Since I posted my last one I was unhappy with how it all turned out as you have to imagine what’s going on in the pictures so I found and purchased a copy of Fraps so I can get videos instead.

Today I’m late for the 2x Exp event and I’m heading quickly through Ludi and a hacker just pops away right as I walk through. I didn’t see the name but I didn’t htink they’d go far so I just trained until I needed to go back to town and then went hunting. read more

Today started out a lot different than the other days as today was the start of the first year anniversary of Maple Global. After downloading the latest patch I started by checking out the new quests and then spent the first hour just wandering in a circle around Victoria Island looking for the Candle and Cake monsters. I found quite a few of them and in the process picked up two Birthday Candles however because they don’t give any experience or mesos and that they drop the candles so rarely I didn’t bother to keep it up. read more

I was playing around at the bottom of Ant Tunnel II today when I ran into someone who ran off when I showed up. Right before hand I got hit with a bad bit of lag and was suprirsed to see a monster go zooming along the bottom. Now to get sudden bursts of speed after lag is not unusual but when I changed channels later I found a channel that had no monsters on it at all and a large pile of items in the corner. read more

I decided to post two today as I missed posting yesterday and it’s not like Day 2 had much to say.

I was really looking forward to today as I knew I’d have a chance to actually sit and play for a good amount of time. Today started out pretty good with me starting out by trying to sell my items off to build up the cash for some armor but people just weren’t interested in buying from me. read more

I really don’t have much time to play today, just an hour or two so I really don’t expect too much in the way of results.

I spent the day off by fighting Blue Mushrooms until I ran out of Subis to throw. This too no time at all so I had to head back into Henesys to pick up some more. Fighting Blue Mushrooms was working out pretty good as they drop a decent amount of mesos and I stayed there until I managed to get 12k in my pocket. I also managed to get them to drop a few more potions and a Gold Ore, though I have my doubts about managing to sell the Gold Ore quickly. read more
