So in Maple Story I got my fire mage to lvl 88. I wanted to get her to 90 before I had to work again, but I wound up getting fed up with the whole mess.
I started an account on FlyFF. So far I’m having fun. (The Nyangnyangs are disturbing, but I’m having fun.) I’m training an acrobat (because I can’t escape shooting things with arrows). People spam the shout function on the chat like mad, yes, but after the vulgar stupidity of the MS supermegaphones listening to people repeatedly say that they need a filler for an adv party is nothing. (Whatever a filler for an adv party is.)
I’ve been running around and asking incredibly stupid questions, but no one has called me a noob. People are surprisingly helpful and, well… nice. The fact that the game prevents ks’ing is nice too. *nod* I’m still getting used to the assists, though. I mean, it’s very weird to be standing there restoring h/m/fp and then someone just flies in, buffs you, and flies off without a word.
All in all, I’m having a decently good time on my MS break. Hopefully my first good day and a half hasn’t been a fluke, and I’ll continue to have fun.

So the right answer was….
…squids, apparently. An ice mage friend of mine told me that he talked to a fire mage who was happy about squids. So I gave then a shot, and, whattya know, they’re nice leveling at this point. I got to level 81 tonight, and have maxed Poison Mist as far as I’m going to. (28 points)
I’m not sure if I want to go for explosion or composition next. I think explosion so I have the mob skill. Besides, blowing up stuff is fun.
(Oh, and I can kill Gatekeepers by my lonesome now too! Well, if you can call poisoning them and running away until they’re almost dead “killing” Gatekeepers. Yay for poison mist! Misting sharks is also fun, though I died repeatedly due to a combination of sheer stupidity and the weekend lag. :3)
I just wish people would stop coming into my squids area and just.. STARING at me with that F6 look on their face. What? What’s so weird about a girl misting squids?! *f4, jumps off the top ledge in the FM repeatedly until she dies* Just kidding. I still want to know why I get f6’d so much. :
78 – Where do I Go From Here?
I got to level 78 early this morning. (And if you think that 75 to 78 in 12 days is too fast, my ice mage friend went from 77 to almost 83 in the same amount of time. And he’s legit. [Ugh.]) Got to equip my dark enigma (verified smexy by my bl) and my phoenix wand (it’s small but powerful – +6int and 109matk). I also sprung for an extra row of slots in my equipment because it’s really not fair that mages don’t get more room. Blah. D: Now I don’t know what to do (aside from go to Hen and annoy people).
While level 77 I wandered in Aqua road and ended up killing sharks at the shipwreck. No, really. It’s painful and careful and slow, though, so I didn’t stay very long. But it was quite nice in the fact that I was hardly disturbed there at all by other players. If I ever make it to 90 or so it might be nice for training.
The whole “being disturbed there by other players” part is why I’m having trouble training. I have 16 points (and 3 still unused from lvling) in poison mist. And I know it’ll be great eventually, but I’m still not convinced it was worth my while to put my points into it. Misting bone fish is still vastly slower than, say, killing zombies. It’s discouraging.
I’ve been told to go to death teddies, but they’re also discouraging. I cannot train at DTs because (1) I hate the map layouts in ludi and (2) I can’t mist anything without some ice mage or sin coming after me and killing what I just misted. I hate the slow killing style. Well, correction. I have the patience to poison something and go poison something else and then come back and kill it. It works GREAT for lycans (and impresses lvl 50s climbing up to zombies, too). The only way I can “train” at DTs is with an ice mage, and that’s discouraging.
My current 3rd job skillset is as follows:
[3 unused points]
+1 explosion
+1 composition (I really wish I’d put points into this instead of mist)
+3 elemental amplification
+1 seal
+16 poison mist
Leveling and possibly being crazy
So, despite the best efforts of two server checks, I managed to get to lvl 75! The check Sunday night stopped me from getting to 74 on time, and the once Tuesday made my leveling to 75 have to get put off until yesterday. But I’ve made it! *yay*
In celebration, last night I went shopping in the FM. Bought a dark requierre (already had a red, but I wanted a dark) and a pair of 59 mdef half earrings. Great, though with my hair you can’t see the earrings anymore. XD I also was able to equip my Dark Ritual after I leveled up.
On Tuesday (I think it was Tuesday), we got to see the Khaini GM’s make an example of a few people. They’ve been doing pretty good with the bannings lately, btw. I reported a hacker when I logged on, and they got banned in bluetext about half an hour later. One on Tuesday was banned for looting from hackers, and at least one more was publicly banned for advertising one of those meso selling websites.
Tuesday after I went shopping, I got bored and went to Ludi to help out two of my guild members kill death teddies. (Level 77 and 80 lice mages. They’re nice guys, and pretty useful with freezing stuff, so I won’t hold it against them. :3) There was also a lvl 75 sniper, but he kept showing off and got killed. >_> So we mages three decided to go suicide, or at least die on something. After getting past the Thanatos (didn’t want to die on them), we ended up killing the two gatekeepers. We continued on and killed the next monsters (vikings, I think), and then… the giant spirit vikings. Because, well, why not? I managed to actually be useful for once (shuddup), because even though my poison mist is only lvl 10 it managed to do pretty good damage. I think 966 each time it acted on the big spirit vikings, once the poisoning kicked in. Fire was also decent against most of these monsters (obviously not the best, but I’m only lvl 75!), so it was nice to not be a third wheel for once.
And then I went and died accidentally on death teddies because my mg ran out when I fell down off the edge for like the 50th time. XD
Happy Mapling!
Fire mage draw thyself…
I got bored today, so I decided to draw my fire mage. It was pretty fun, even if the pic isn’t perfect. (And the wings are low because they’re bate’s bane wings, and those were modeled after Morrigan from Darkstalkers. Go..uh… look in the wikipedia or something.) And she’s wearing *sunglasses*, not glasses. O_o;
Edit: So, I was looking back at pics of my character from when she was first started, and my she’s changed! Brown hair in ponytails back then…
Anyhoo, leveled to 73 in the Forest of Golem. Or the FoG. I’m a bit of a fog addict, but after leveling the hackers got to be too much for me so I wandered off.
Word from experience: When your guildmates suggest to go and try killing something that you know will kill you in one hit, don’t do it unless you won’t miss the exp! XD My guildies suggested going to try to kill Goby to find a maple board, and… well, as would be expected I died.
That didn’t bother me so much, but I wish I’d remembered to take off my safety charm beforehand. Oh well. ^^;
Happy 4k!
Today I hit a long wished for damage goal…. 4000 damage in one hit. I also got to lvl 73, which helped. So now, with meditate I can do 4k on all sorts of lesser fire weak monsters. And I’m getting pretty close to it without meditate (around 3900). Fun!
(You can see the GMs going for the ban-gold on the second screenshot. :3)
It’s Crazy Drop Night
….or so it seems, at least. In the two hours after the server check tonight I found three pairs of pants, an archer overall, an evil tale, and 3 blood snowboards. Did the drops on those change? It’s quite odd.
And now, I’m going to bed. Mmm, sleep.
Fire Mage!
I tried posting this when it happened, but something messed up. Hmm. Anyhoo, last week, right around the time of that emergency server check Ginnova finally made it to 3rd job. She did the (horribly easy) physical test right before the check, and the wisdom part afterwards. Grendel’s shadow, was, by the way, ridiculously easy. He only got out of the corner because I let him so I could take a picture. XD I never touched the ‘macis he summoned, and the whole thing took about a minute. I really didn’t anticipate it to be like that.
Ginnova got new hair as a reward for all her hard work. (Red ballroom, from amoria.)
Got explosion, blew some stuff up…
No thanks I’ll pass…
So, last night one of my buddies convinced me and another buddy to try the first part of the Zakum quest. (To get dead mine scrolls, I assume.) The very first part, with the keys and all the walking was okay, if not kind of annoying.
The second part, however, was a jump quest.
Jump quests and I do not get along. At all. It might have something to do with the fact that I’ve been playing MS since February and I STILL can’t jump properly when under pressure. Or not under pressure, even. As I have said many times while playing, I am extremely skilled at falling.
So I didn’t do the second part. Gave up after 45 minutes. *shrug* In the future, if I REALLY want to get to zombies I’ll either buy a scroll or WALK. It’s far less painful and far cheaper.
Happy 2 month birthday!
So, Ginnova turned 2 months old the other day. And today she levelled to 63! Stupid grupins.
She also got the smexy bat’s bane wings (which are from Morrigan of darkstalkers, of course) as a present for her birthday. Good day, gonna go candy hunting!
PS. Also helped kill my first Jr. Balrog today! He dropped a black crystal, shweet.
