If you’re a bandit, beware of this!

Hey, everyone! Believe it or not, this is my first blog that isn’t a story! For once, I’m being different! XD

Unfortunately, the topic isn’t exactly happy, but it’s something that I need to get off my chest. This is a blog that is aimed at certain characters who play this game. Specifically, if you match all of the following criteria:

1. You’re a bandit
2. You’re level is around 40 or higher
3. You have not put a single point into Savage Blow(yet)

Then this blog is for you. Plus, you have three things in common with me! XD

Boy, that was lame.

Anyway, on to my rant: So have you guys ever been told that Savage Blow is considered the Bandit’s signature move? Well, if you haven’t, then I’d suggest you believe it, since everyone else thinks so. And by everyone else, I mean just about every other person and his brother on the game. How do I know? Because they won’t shut up about it!

Just where am I going with this? Simply, I happen to be one of(if there are any others) the only bandits in the game who doesn’t have Savage Blow yet. Why don’t I have it yet? The reasons are simple: I found other skills to work on first. Dagger Mastery was the prominent skill upon reaching lv 30, so I did that first. Currently, I’m focused on haste, because I like to go fast. These skills, in my opinion, are excellent to have, and really helped me early into my 30s. Other people, however, tend to think differently, mainly because whenever someone finds me fighting and decides to interact with me, this question usually(did I say usually? I meant ALWAYS) gets brought up in different ways:

“Dude, can’t you do Savage Blow yet?”

Every freaking time! AGH! No, I don’t have Savage Blow yet! Why is it that whenever someone sees a bandit, they just HAVE to see him/her fight with Savage Blow? What is with these people? It’s just a bandit trick, for crying out loud! Yes, it is a good trick, and it performs well, from what I’ve seen, but still, there are other moves as well!

Take Dagger Mastery for example. This is a move that every bandit should have, in my opinion. It makes minimal damage with a bandit’s dagger much higher, which is very integral. I feel it should come before Savage Blow simply because it makes Savage Blow that much better, mainly because S. Blow deals a percentage of the bandit’s main damage. Having higher minimal damage makes moves like that much more potent.

Haste is another good move. Why? My reasons are twofold: first, I move faster. Self-explanatory. Second, what good is S. Blow if you can’t FIND mons? I’m asking this because every now and then, mon-spawning spots seem to stop spawning every once in a while. This means I may need to find other mons quockly, to save training time(and beat the ksers). So I turn on haste, and WHEEEE! Isn’t that fun? Well, to some people, hitting monsters 6 times a second is more fun. Seriously, the only time my haste is ever noticed is when people are in my party getting hasted!

It just irritates me how people can put so much talk into one skill. For goodness sake people, Bandits are known for a lot more than that! Take me, for instance. I happen to use a skill that I never see any other bandits use: Disorder. Yes, i know any thief can take this, but go with me here. Disorder may not be a real attack skill, but it is an amazing support skill. The fact that an enemy’s offense and defense can be cut down like a christmas tree is simply amazing. It is especially useful in the fact that Bandits are not the most powerful melee unit in the game. The lowered defense gives bandits a good chance to tear an enemy apart more quickly, and the lowered offense can make a difference between a close call and a gruesome death.

So listen to me: anyone who isn’t a bandit and sees me(RyuHayabusaN) fighting, STOP ASKING ABOUT SAVAGE BLOW! Wait until I at least start using it. And yes, I do mean start using it, since for the first ten levels or so, Savage Blow is WEAKER than Double Stab. Trust me, it is. Instead, think of other things a bandit can do. In fact, play as one yourself. You might be suprised at what you can do. It certainly beats a one track mind any day of the week.
