A New Era Begins: The First Week Back

Before I begin this story, many of you may be interested in how I’m doing in the game. Well, I’ve been able to cross many thresholds:
Level 40 surpassed(currently at level 41)
THREE levels gained this week(where I’m at right now, it took a LOT of playing)
Over 600 potions held at one time(currently focused on white potions)
Acquired over 900,000 mesos(my latest potion purchase shot me back down to the 800,000s, but a threshold is a threshold)
Minimum damage is now over 200(210 to be more precise)
All 6 DANGER Mushroom quests completed in one weekend(two or three days, can’t quite remember)

Needless to say, I MISSED this game over the summer. I’ve binged it like crazy for the week and plan to continue on through college(WITHOUT failing classes), if only to get a higher character on the game and put us one step closer to the 4th jobs.

Now, on to the story!

From the chronicles of Ryu Hayabusa II
26th of August, 2006
Current location: Orbis Island

It has been a week since I returned. Never have I been in a worse mood. After the attack my home suffered, after all the turmoil I was put through, the last thing I wanted to see was ANY monster on Maple Island. Nevertheless, I knew I had to return. I have a life of my own to live, and hanging at home with nothing else to do will achieve little more than degrading my hard-earned abilities.

Still, I have been given some comfort on the fact that my emotions of anger, rage, and hatred can be poured back on their source. I don’t care what sent the monsters to attack my homeland; I harbor great animosity for them even to this day. For the past week, not only have I begun a great deal of training on picking up where I left off, I have been able to take out my endless frustrations on every hostile creature I found.

I began my training in the great mountains of Perion; hard, rocky, and full of suprises. Heh, sounds a lot like me. I made sure every monster felt my fan of vengeance. It was mainly the boars, both grey of fur and red of fire, that earned my attention, since they are the greatest challenge there, though I gave other monsters their fair share whenever they got in my way. Now as I reflect, I do feel a little guilt in my ruthless behavior, since none of the monsters could’ve accomplished this task on their own, but until I find the true source, there is nothing else I can do to slate these seemingly endless negative feelings.

Fortunately, good things have countered the bad. I managed to pull off plenty of quests, mostly at the service of a mysterious sage known as the Rememberer, a person who’s unfathomable memory is exceeded only by his hobby of floating in place.

Also, I have made plenty of new friends, who have all been instrumental in assisting me in training and quests. I was also reunited with old friends, including longtime fighting friend, Lonestar. I remember back when I was greater than him overall; he was always asking for assistance in becoming stronger. Now, the tables have turned. After our first contact upon my return, I found him to be considerably stronger than me! A commendable feat I give him credit for, as he must have worked extremely hard for it. Of course, no matter how different our levels are, our friendship will never change.

After tons of training that tested my endurane through and through, I’m now powerful enough to wear new equipment that I have been fortunate enough to accumulate. This new gear has served me well over the time I have used it, and I welcome it’s protection every day I fight. My panlid and fan have not changed, due to scrolls keeping them updated.

Recently after arriving here at a friend’s request, I managed to get my first look at a recently discovered land known as Aqua Road. Despite having trouble breathing and encountering too powerful fish, I enjoyed the trip. I even managed to come across a portable resting chair. It seems magical in some way, as it heals an amount of health and mana that not even the Sleepywood spa could come close to. It will be a valuable asset as I continue to grow in power.

Even with all this happening, I can’t help but wonder: who orchestrated the attack on my homeland? How, even? My home isn’t even part of Maple World. It can only be accessed by an inter-dimensional portal that only my father and I can control. The most important question of all, though, is why? What is there in my home that this faceless enemy hopes to gain?

Whatever answer these questions hold, one thing is certain: I will not rest until I unravel this mystery and enact my ultimate revenge upon this unknown fiend. I will make sure that everyone, good and evil, near and far, knows the ninja bandit named Ryu Hayabusa II….and why he should never be crossed.
