Royal Betrayal – 7

Night felt something inside him click together, as matching puzzle pieces would, and he felt his willpower grow.

Using his newfound power, he began to locate Stars’ probe in his head. In seconds, it was found, piercing and reopening his memories. His willpower began to recreate the barrier surrounding the memory, and broke the probe, sending Stars reeling back.

Stars searched some of the bubbles of memories floating through Night’s head with his probe. He saw one that interested him. His probe peered inside, seeing a large sale. “Why would anyone seal a memory of a sale? It’s not like it can hurt anyone.

His probe began poking through the barrier. He finally noticed the Dark Lord’s presence was no longer beside him. “[/i]Looks like I’m going to get this memory alone.[/i]” he thought, just as another light pushed its way into the area, resealing the bubble and severing Stars’ probe.

Looks like he’s done.” Stars thought.

After repelling the figure away, the Dark Lord glanced at his two apprentices. Night seemed to have gotten the knack of telepathy. “Bravo.” he thought, just as he released a probe into Night’s head, as a test.

Almost immediately, he felt his probe batted away. He sent a stronger one this time, but it had the same effect as the last one.

<Nice try.> came to his head, as his eyes widened in disbelief. He turned to look at Night. Night was smiling.

Night felt the probe come, and he batted it away as if it were the simple light punches that his tutor hit him with when he was younger. He felt a stronger one come, but destroyed that one as well, with little difficulty. He grinned.

Now, here’s this.” Night sent a message to the Dark Lord’s head, and watched as the Dark Lord widened his eyes in disbelief.

“Apparently, you have mastered it. Seems like you don’t need anymore lessons.” the Dark Lord said.

“Apparently, I don’t.” Night said, grinning again.

Night and Stars walked out of the bar. <Where to?> Stars thought.

“Perion.”

<Why there?>

“I have business to settle with my father now that I have these powers.”

<If your father’s powers are as strong as you say they are, you stand no chance with just telepathy.>

“I’m not going to fight him. Yet.”

Stars just sighed. They both began their trek to Perion.
