Solsund’s Quest – Opening

Solsund’s Quest – A Maple Story Rags to Riches Tale

I’ve been playing Maple Story for around two months now and as my first character I decided to become an Assassin. I’ve been slowly working my way along, building up money, buying new items and generally learning what is going on in the game. I managed to make it to my first goal on Easter day, which was becoming a full-fledged Assassin. Since then I worked my way up to being a level 33 and was in Ludibrium working on level 34 when I was having a chat with some friends that I met online.

We talked about various things but I mentioned how annoying it was when someone would take off all of their equipment so they looked like they had nothing at all and then go begging for stuff, saying that they have been scammed. Now most of the time when I saw things like this it was decently high level characters, in the range of 30-40. I never really believed that any of them had been scammed and so I never gave them anything.

I’m a pretty giving person and I like to help those people who need help. I’m always stopping to give directions for people or handing out town return scrolls when people ask for cab fare. I like building up large amounts of items such as Octopus Legs or Bubbling’s Huge Bubbles and then giving them out to people for free.

I met one of my friends on the crossing to Orbis from Victoria Island when he was traveling with a friend. He was a level 30 warrior who gave all of his stuff away when he decided not to play anymore and he brought his character online to help out a fellow friend, Juliana. We were hanging out in the top of Orbis Tower and were talking about the game and I gave him some random warrior equipment I had gotten from drops. I also gave Juliana my old Adamantite Titans and some Wolbis just to help her out.

This guy was the one I was talking to about how annoying those fake beggars were and how if you already had the levels it wouldn’t be very hard to work your way back up to being well outfitted again. He said that it would take forever and would be highly annoying but even so it got me thinking about it. Just how long would it take to come back from losing everything?

So I started my trip back to Victoria Island and created a new character for me to move all of my stuff over to. I planned for how much room I would have and which of my items I would be able to keep and what I would have to get rid of. I looked into plans on how to get going again when I had nothing and started talking with my friends about transferring all of my stuff to a new character. Finally, I was ready to take the big plunge.

With the help of my friends, PeNGUiNAToR5 and Laziness333 we transferred all of my stuff from the one character to the other, leaving me with a bunch of things to sell or give out. Well, people love free stuff so that wasn’t very hard and I got some really happy people who received some 100% scrolls I hadn’t been able to sell.

So here I was with a completely naked character, no equipment, no use items, and no etc items. All I had was my bunny Harvey, who was full, and the levels I had already gotten. It was time to get offline for the night and start my quest the next day with begging for a weapon.

Todays picture is of me getting pwned by a Crimson Balrog. I decided to try and get a screenshot of me and a balrog but it was over the door when I popped outside. Notice I ended up using a saftey charm to save 47 exp, OUCH.
