The Guild Saga

There’s even an animated companion to this bit, but it isn’t particularly well-made or interesting, so yeah. *shrug*

One day, I was bored. Happens all the time, yeah, especially when the EXP bar is dishearteningly less-than-half-full. While just stoning for a bit in Orbis Channel 1, trying to snipe buyers for the 100+ Tower Scrolls in my inventory, I came across a plea: ‘Pls, help me form guild?’

Sure, why not. After all, I got kicked out of my most recent new guild (RebOrn) for inactivity, with just a nice little note to inform me about the decision. I would have appreciated it if someone talked to me and explained exactly WHY I was being kicked out, but noo. Just a nice little polite note; the third of the same nature I had received, actually, on separate characters. But that’s another story.

After that, I had run back to my good old (and dead) Genesis, to which I was warmly welcomed back. <3

Since I could still easily regain membership back to Genesis (easily buggable friend with access to leader’s account, uh huh), so I decided to quit Genesis for the second time ever (the first time was to join RebOrn, hmph) and helped this other person form his guild.

Then I went on to help two more leaders form their guilds: I was in a record-breaking number of FOUR guilds in one day, including Genesis. 😀 I know I rock, yeap.

But ultimately, I never stayed in any of them. 1) Names are dumb (Wth is a PaHaiDong? How to stop cringing at a name like ‘Deathwalkers2’? The latter even disbanded because of the stupid name), 2) Too many people pleading to be Jr Masters, hence getting on my nerves, 3) no one types properly and lastly 4) no one has a sense of humor or gets my jokes. *rolls eyes*

But at least I got a new addition to the BL out of it. Both Cyberkider and I hopped through all three guilds to help get them started, and I actually had intelligent conversation (read: doing some serious mocking) concerning the whole guild thing with him.

Days later, I wasn’t able to get hold of my friend to reinvite me back to Genesis, so I was wandering around in Showa, bored and guildless when suddenly, my computer made a choking sort of sound, the screen froze like a penguin stuck in an ice cube and wham, I lagged out.

Oh, but it happens ever so often, I wasn’t too bothered by it, really. I mean, utterly random lagouts in the middle of murderous Luster mobs? Capricious freezing while I am having fun Arrow Bombing clumps of Yetis? The occasional complete crashing of my computer, leading to at least ten precious minutes of being out of action?

Bah, can’t faze me.

But when I logged back in, a cheery blue little box popped up. ‘Eona has invited you…’

Who’s Eona? Is this an invitation to a party? I glanced around the map, but there was no moving red spot to be found. Hmm. Oh well, let’s just click-

Ooo. ‘The guild has been made’. And quickly followed by a cheerful ‘Hi, and welcome to the guild!’ message from the leader herself. Turns out that she was passing by in Showa when she saw me lagging, and invited me anyway.

Cool name, nice symbol, friendly talkative leader who didn’t mind answering stupid questions and says stuff like ‘Personality counts as well XD’ regarding the promotion of members, semi-literate members without a strong tendency to be t0rkinq or typinq lik tis (even if they still don’t get my jokes)…

Okay, I’m in. ^^

‘Sides, how often is it that a guild comes to you in recognition of your awesomefulness? xD

Fast forward days later, and I’m still in the guild even after days of inactivity. A handful of members still bid me a ‘yo’ at my login even if I have never seen them before, before I was hailed.

‘Fx, come. We’re having guild event at chn10rm20’

(Did I mention how it’s the first time I hear people calling me Fx instead of Silver? XD)

It took a while for the participants to settle down, what with people running off randomly to recharge stars and clear inventories. I pitied Eona for having to sweat it out and organise the ragtag bunch of us. xD We had to go around all Maple-verse to collect items corresponding to clues that she gave, and it was a pretty fair game, because the fact that people can be in all three continents was taken into consideration and all could still play. None of my other guilds ever held events like this, so it was a novel experience for me, even if my team didn’t win.

So all in all, it looks like I’m staying in Andromeda for a nice long while. While I can’t exactly rave about how awesome it is, but you know, at least it’s decent.

But we’ll see.

*throws cookies for you!*

Imagine if I could own the front p- Nah.

  2. That was when Ganzicus was “cranking out” (with a lack of a more polite word) comics and no one else had a chance to make the frontpage >_<

  3. Silver, your bloggies make me glow, and feel warm, like when I wet my pants. But in a good way.
