Sign the Petition, please.

Unfortunately, US and European IPs have been blocked from MapleStorySEA. As many of you know, a bunch of us from MMOTales were playing on Aquila (and other worlds), and we even planned to create a guild.

MSEA is so much better than GMS. I refuse to go back to GMS or try to play any other version of MS. MSEA was it for me.

Sign this petition if you were an MSEAer yourself or if you just believe that them doing this without any prior notice or warning is wrong.

  1. I hate them! And just when I thought, y’know, I might finally be able to play Maple with people from MMOtales.

I pity those people with high level characters that got banned now. :/ This stinks.

  2. I know D: and plus all those people who spent $$$ to buy A-cash that they’ll probably never refund. (x_x)

Ah well. . . at least we still have MMOT, and Flyff. What server are you on again?

  3. Read the ToC.

‘We reserve the right to blablablablabla yak yak yak yadda yadda’. It’s not wrong, you agreed to it. =D

I REFUSE TO GO NUTS OVER MS DURING EXAM PERIOD!

    NUUUUUUUU. . .

  4. Silver: Ah. That kinda sucks. Oh well.

Fenny: Yes, but they’re required to notify everyone as well. Even hackers get notice when they’re banned. We’re worth less than hackers I guess.

Yup! They aren’t required to warn us about anything, it’d just be nice if they did. :]

  6. There is a problem though. MapleSEA was never meant for globalers in the first place. By playing it globalers must be prepared to lose everything one day.
I can sign it just for the sake of helping you but I don’t think it’ll change the situation.

  7. Devvy: true.

Everyone else: thanks guys. I doubt the petition will help anyway. But if it does that’d be great, cos I loved MSEA. It reminded me of GMS in its’ early days (not Beta, I missed that by a few days).

  8. They probably don’t want to open it back up because they think hackers can come from around here and move there. Also, as someone else said, they weren’t wrong due to their ToS. And also, what was there to notify you of? How can they notify you? They can’t go through thousands of people’s accounts and say “Oh, well, they’ve been accessing via US/European accounts, so we can ban them.”

That’s a lot of work they probably didn’t want to go through. With a hacker, the GM just closes their account and knows who it is, so they know who to ban.

Also, you weren’t banned. You’re just not able to access their servers while you’re over here.

They probably did that because they know the US/Europe is a popular vacation spot, or people might have family here, and try to access the game from here. Now that I could understand in being unfair, being banned because of it.

The only solution I can think of for you guys is to find some sort of way to proxy through it. Other than that, no more Sea for the US/Europe.

  9. 1. REGISTRATION OBLIGATIONS
In consideration of your use of the Site and/or Applications, you agree to provide true, accurate and complete information about yourself as prompted by the Site registration process, provided that in connection with registration, you do not need to, and should not, use your full or true name for your username. In addition, you agree to update that information in order to maintain its truth, accuracy and completeness. AsiaSoft may deny you access to the Site in the event that your information is untrue, inaccurate or incomplete.

To create my AsiaSoft Passport, I had to come up with a “NRIC / FIN / Passport No / Social Security Number” that was not mine. What did you do?

The company has to do what it can for the players who actually live in South East Asia. If that includes blocking an international IP range to reduce server load, they have that freedom. That is not “discrimination”. That is looking out for one’s legitimate customers. I myself am blocked from SEA, but I understand why; I consciously made the effort to lie and put down a country of citizenship and an SSN that was not mine. To take an extreme view, I stole someone’s identity to play an online game.

As it seems Wizet Corp. cannot stop people from lying, it has to enforce its rules in a different manner.

  10. WHAT? ARE YOU INSANE? YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME. I-WHAT-HEY- GOD. DANG!
    AUGH
THE ONE GAME I COULD PLAY THAT WAS AWESOME AND- AND AND- THEY KILL ME.
    ARGHHHH.
*Thumps down* *Sighs* Great. Now that’s the end of Mapling for me.
