Penguins and Noobs.

Well, I levelled up to 44 today. Er, I mean, yesterday. Finally! Haha.

During the course of my training I had this one noob in particular follow me around like a sad puppydog repeating, “buff plees” and also bothering other people for tombmarbles. He almost suckered one guy into selling him some but then the guy rethought his decision lmao. I never buffed him. I always chose a moment to be afk, or pretended that I was so into fighting I never saw him.

Mean, I know. But when he comes up to you in the middle of a fight every freaking single time with a badly worded request for buffs, what would you do? I’m not going to risk my life to buff an unappreciative, greedy nooblet. There was a time when I had two aggros on me too, and he came up and stood next to me going “buff plees”. He even went so far as to follow me when I got knocked back during a critical. Grrr.

I know I chose to deal with this sort of thing when I made the conscious decision to become an assist, especially a full-support one. I’ve seen what my friends as assists have dealt with, so I’m no stranger to how people in Flyff treat assists. However, I’m not going to pretend that I love everyone and that I’m going to skip around happily buffing everyone who demands one from me. Or happily buffing everyone who asks nicely. Sometimes I just want to be left alone so I can train (or help my friends), or stand around and pick my nose (kidding), or whatever.

I AM NOT AN NPC. I’m starting to ignore people who ask more and more, and sure some of them get mad. But what are they going to do about it? They’re MY buffs. I can choose who to give them to, or not. They’ll eventually run off whinging, but they’ll find another assist to bother and eventually get their buffs. I don’t get anything for buffing people, not experience nor refreshers (not that I need any refreshers. . . but it’d be nice if people offered). All I get is wasted time and happy, greedy noobs.

I don’t mind buffing my friends, and I don’t mind buffing the people I’m in a party with, but it’s all the rest of the community that anger me sometimes. Hm I think I’m done with this rant, lol. I just needed to vent.

    I got back to FlyFF too, but I’m sticking to Mia for the mo’. :/
    Seeing all the assists rant on MMO, I’m a little scared to ask for buffs from the assists I see around the place. :X Oh well. Not that I see many people where I’m training now, anyway.

    Ya. I actually made a friend out of a person who asked me one day, “would you mind buffing me if it’s not too much trouble, please?” It was awesome, and it warmed my heart. I kept buffing this person until she had to go. She also gave me a couple things in return, a shield and some refreshers.
