A sad day

Dear diary,

I’m a bit worried, for people i meet are not as friendly as I have hoped. In fact, most of the people i have become acquainted with are rather rude. For instance, I was in Eliinia today, in my favorite tree, the one with the mushrooms, when a male there kept asking me to leave.

It was obvious that there was plenty of room for the two of us, but he kept wanting to monopolize the tree. He even chased away others who tried to venture there. He was slaughtering all of the mushrooms, and I was practicing my magic on only one, two at most, and he tried repeatedly to chase me away.

There was also someone using “Illegal magic” while I was there. All of the mushrooms kept disappearing, and I found that they were being teleported to where the perpetrator was. I informed the gods of his misbehavior at once, but he was not the only one I encountered. Many users of this evil magic are running rampant.

As for my main goal, still no sign of my sister, although I heard from that girl in Perion, Ayan, that she has seen my sister. I know not why my sister left, but I will not rest until I find her.

Alright, OOC (out of character) report.

I have started playing with a gamepad instead of the keyboard, and let me tell you, it is sweet. It really brings out my platformer reflexes, honed through hours of Megaman.

Waht i’m using is a Recoil GGE909, about $16 at walmart. I had a nice Gravis gamepro, the really old one, and it was great, except my compy has no 15 pin joystick port, so i needed to aquire some tasty USB. Now, keyboard/mouse emulation software runs for about $20 on it’s own, and this spiffy PS2 style gamepad I got has it’s own. This is all good for me since a.) I don’t particularly want carpal tunnel syndrome, and b.) my keyboard slot on my desk is broken. But now, i can use a controller to do all the gaming and mouse work instead of a keyboard and mouse. It’s like freaking Megaman with cuter sprites and other people. Gamepad playing is highly recomended.

Mine has 10 buttons, plus 2 analogs, so i can have programmed in my attack, jump, pick up, potions, my chair, scroll lock and a few emotes too. The only downside was the slight twitch that occurred from the button design on the D-pad, where I kept going up or down ladders when i passed them. this was easily bypassed by holding the opposite direction (EX: the ladder goes up, i keep walking, but pressing on the bottom of the right arrow as opposed to the top, so I don’t go up, but I don’t lay down either.

Oh, and if anyone has a gamepad and wants to test out gameplay with it, Joy to Key is the BEST keyboard emulator you will find. many thumbs up.

As for the “Illegal magic” bit, yup, you guessed it, more freaking hacking, but i dont want to sully this page with “O.M.F.G HAXXOR” comments. Those are old.

I am, however, annoyed with the recent onslaught of “CC PLZ” coming at me when I play. Now, when my best friend tells others about maple story, he always includes the thing about channels, and how if you dot like the channel you’re in, you can always switch. Not ask others to switch, but to take responsibility to switch if the other people bother you.

People, this is a multiplayer online game. There will always be other people. It’s best to accept that and learn to get along with everyone else, maybe form a party or share the map, not shout “CC PLZ” and hog all the enemies.

There were several times this happened. Of course, I stood my ground until my training area was so overridden with hackers that I had to leave.

Bubblings area is still crowded. Some guy there got a maple star, so he was psyched. I still hung around to pick up loot. XD

In any case, that shall be all for this installment. I’m still tweaking the video comic I’m making for Felania, my mage. I’m having so much fun with her.

  1. I laughed when I read platformer reflexes.
I think it’s because it reminded me of ‘Jedi reflexes’ and the tonnes of inside jokes about it. XD

    Sister? Who sister? *intrigued*

  2. HELP PLZ!

Hey there! Mitchichen! I’ve been looking online for an answer to my question. I also bought the GGE909 pad and i’d REALLY like to know how to use the mouse/keyboard function. I have installed the CD and everything else works but the mouse/keyboard function when I try to set it up on the CD menu thing.

Any help at all would be really really amazingly appreciated. Thanks much, another PC gamer, josh
