The Maple Story: Episode 15

Here is Episode 15 to The Maple Story. Enjoy!

I left the academy and went back to Lith Harbor in order to see my parents. I went to the front door with a note posted on it.

“Off to Florina Beach for a few days. Be back on Friday.”

“Great… now what am I supposed to do?” I asked myself.

I decided to head to the Dark Lord to learn about this mysterious skill I somehow mastered. I went to the taxi cab and paid for a trip to Kerning City. I climbed down the stairs in the Jazz Fusion bar to the Dark Lord.

“Dark Lord sir, I have come to you in a time of need. I have somehow mastered a skill that I did not know possible.” I said while bowing to him.

“Yes, I know. You used assaulter.” He said laughing.

He clapped his hands and transported me to another place. This time, it was some beat up arena used for battles.

“Here you will learn to use Assaulter.”

Over the next 3 weeks Dark Lord trained with me for at least 5 hours a day. He had to leave to do other errands and that is when I practiced on my own. He also instructed me on Meso Explosion and Pickpocket basics. I thought it was weird that I was learning 3rd job skills but I still didn’t master my 2nd job skills. Both my haste and Savage Blow could be better. Nevertheless, I was still satisfied by the free training I had received from the Dark Lord.

“Thank you my Lord.” I said bowing. “I am grateful for this free training you have given me.”

I then left and went back to see if my parents were back from Florina. I knocked on the door but no one answered. The note was still up so I decided to find the spare key to get in. I went to the secret hiding place of our spare key and used it to unlock the door and enter the house.

I looked around and couldn’t believe what I saw. Everything was pushed over and it seemed as if there was a battle that had taken place.

“Mom? Dad? Are you okay?” I yelled while looking around the house.

I went into their room and couldn’t believe my eyes. They were lying down, with blood over themselves. I ran to them to see if they were still alive. I knew that the chance was slim, but I still had hope. It was too late… they had died. I clenched my fist in wondering who could have done this. I saw a note by their bodies. I picked it up and read it.

“This is what you get for hurting our son Daniel. Anything that you do to us, we will return the favor. This is a warning, keep away from our son and we will stay away from you and all others that you care about.”

I couldn’t believe it… Daniel’s parents killed my parents. I lay down and started crying. After an hour I heard a knock. I opened the door and I saw two familiar faces.

“Eric? Amy? What are you guys doing here?” I asked in bewilderment.

“Well… we told you that we would leave the academy if we had to.” Eric said.

“And I knew where your house was from the time that you showed me when we left Maple Island.” Amy told me.

“Aw guys, you didn’t have to do that. I told you not to worry.” I said thankfully.

“Well, are you going to let us in or what?” Eric asked impatiently.

“Well, there’s something you should know.” I said sadly.

I told them the story of my parents.

“Oh my god I’m so sorry.” Amy said sympathetically. She wrapped her arms around me to comfort me.

“Well I know this is kind of soon, but my parents live over at Orbis. And we can’t really survive without a house. Want to go there?”

“Sure.” I said.

We all went to Orbis and met with Eric’s parents. They sent us off on an errand to get some Grupin Tails so they could cook dinner. We obeyed and went off to Grupins. When we reached them, I underestimated their power and they almost killed us.

“Help! Help!” We cried in hopes that someone heard.

Amazingly, someone did. A fire mage teleported to us; killed the mob of Grupins, then left.

“Amy did he…?” I said confused.

“Hmm?” She asked wondering what I was saying.

“Nevermind.” I said as I changed my mind.

“Whatever.” She said.

I swore I saw him before. I just couldn’t think of exactly who he was.
