The Maple Story: Episode 1

Sorry I couldn’t think of a better title but this is the first episode of my very first story on MMOTales. Enjoy!

“Kevin! Time for breakfast!” mom yelled as I was slowly waking up. My mom was a priest, and my dad was a dragon knight and they were a great team. They had retired and settled down in Lith Harbor. They chose Lith Harbor because it was a quiet place and a great place to raise a kid. My parents sometimes went and greeted the new maplers as they arrived onto Victoria Island. They even offered training every now and then.

My mom always wanted me to become a cleric like here whereas my dad said I should be a spearman because they were tough. Personally, I always wanted to be a thief, skulking in the shadows of others. My parents then decided to send me off to Maple Island where I was to learn about the other jobs and receive basic training.

Arriving onto Maple Island, the first person I met was Sera. She seemed picky because she didn’t want to walk to her house, which was really close, to get her mirror. I gave her the mirror and she rewarded me with experience points. I noticed that if you do something to others, they might give you nice rewards. I was going through Maple Island doing all sorts of quests and errands for others. I had got a few experience points from doing them.

Then I saw Mai and Todd. They were offering training sessions for beginners like me. I watched them skillfully kill snails in front of some beginners like me. I, along with 3 other beginners, joined in the next session. There was a beautiful girl named Amy, a friendly guy named Patrick, and a tough looking guy named Daniel. Todd turned to us, smiled, and said, “Hello and welcome to your first challenge!”

Todd then led us to Jr. Sentinels and explained that they would not hurt us, for Grendel the Really Old’s magic had taken care of that. After killing a few Jr. Sentinels, he rewarded us with some experience and then Mai took over. She instructed us to kill snails, they were weak, but they could actually hurt us unlike the Jr. Sentinels. I used my club to whack the snail but I missed, the snail then proceeded to hit me, over and over, until Patrick came and helped me kill it.

From then on I knew that mapling would not be the easiest thing in the world…

  1. It went pretty fast, like others I know.
Those didn’t really turn out well, so slow it down a bit.
Still liked it though, you have good grammer.
