Origins – Part One

His body pivoted backwards in a hurried manner as his arm extended quickly, flinging out a barrage of stars from underneath of his ‘claw’ (a weapon that is meant to shield his wrist and hand from being cut by the sharpened ends of the stars). The man’s body twisted around again in a very awkward looking style, running the opposite way in which he threw the stars. The footsteps chasing him were large and sounded quite large; as they stomped through medium-sized puddles of water and stomped through the squishy earth underneath of the being. Twigs were being seperated from the rooted trees in which they came, making loud snaping noises as they were forcefully removed. The man’s footsteps could barely be heard; light as a feather, swift as a cheetah. Once again, his body spun around quickly; but, this time, he leaped up into the air at the same time as spinning – throwing the same stars out at the opposing force behind him.

“Pandemoniac!” bellowed the beast from behind the man, “I have worked too far for you to ruin this now! Return what you’ve stolen from me or I’ll take it back after removing your heart!”

No matter how loud he would yell, the beast was nearly inaudible from location of his target, whom had found that he was at a safe distance away from him. A drop of sweat trikled down from his forehead onto his cheek; an obvious sign that even Pandemoniac couldn’t ignore: that his body was worn out from the battle beforehand. Even with the legendary orb that he pilfered off of the beastly ‘person’, Pandemoniac was unable to continue on with such a hazardous battle. He stood up on a tree branch, looking out far for any signs of the ‘person’ that was chasing after him. Luckily, there was none; so, Pandemoniac sat down on the branch for a few moments of rest.

And out of nowhere, a swift (but crippling) kick was shoved into Pandemoniac’s back; sending him hurling forwards into another tree. The sound of his left wrist cracking against the wood was loud enough to echo throughout most of the forest. His entire left arm felt numb; yet, his body repelled in pain. Slowly, he gathered himself together and stood up; only to feel another swift kick slammed into his back – pinning him against the tree once again.

“Human, you crossed me for the last time.” the beast growled from under his breath, “I want what I paid for and I’m going to have it one way or another.” The beast pushed Pandemoniac further against the tree, squishing his face against the bark. Pandemoniac could taste the earthly bark against his lips and tongue; and, to his dismay, was unable to reply to the snarling beast. He could, however, hear a loud humming noise within the furthest reach of his mind. His energy was slowly recovering and his body seemed to be putting itself together hastily.

“What’s..happening…to…..?” Pandemoniac managed to murmer out between his lips while being pressed roughly against the tree. The beast leaped back and landed into an attack stance. “It chose you?!” the beast yelled angrily. Pandemoniac knew not of what the other was speaking about; although, he could feel energy rushing through his entire body. His body landed to the ground with his spine arched downwards towards the tree. His eyes seemed to be fooling him, as he saw a swirling red mist surrounding him. Pandemoniac felt more energetic than ever as his body felt more agile, more powerful, and healthier than it ever felt in his entire life.

“The Orb of Mysticism has chosen you to be its next recipient. After all this time I’ve wasted having mortals looking for it and it chose one of them….you!” the beast grew more furious then his prior tantrums. Pandemoniac understood now: the very thing that Mondrious had him search was what had given him all this strength. Given that, he didn’t care about how he felt this way – but the mere fact that he no longer had to run from such an anemic being. Without saying a word, Pandemoniac flicked his right wrist as swiftly as he could – hurling two stars at Mondrious with tremendous force. The stars quickly ripped through the beast’s fur, then within a blink’s moment – through his entire body. They pierced Mondrious’ body with ease; even though, the beast himself was none to pleased with the action, based on the loud yelp that could’ve been heard all the way into the village.

“This does seem better,” Pandemoniac smirked while speaking, “even though I’m unsure if I should thank you and let you free or kill you to let teach you not to bother me or the villiage again.” As he finished speaking, Pandmoniac moved his wrist into the flicking position; ready and able to send another set of stars, but through Mondrious’ heart this time. “Wait!” Mondrious said out loud, “Don’t do this! I wasn’t going to slaughter you. My intentions were just to get the orb off of you, nothing more!” The beast’s fur stood up on ends all over his body, unable to control his fear of Pandemoniac’s judgement.
