The Spear of Hope: Chapter 2

The Job

Crocher heard someone laugh, he slowly opened his eyes. A bunch of villagers stood before him. Crocher looked behind a saw the Barlog begin folded up by some people.
“What is going on?” asked Crocher.
“It’s “We chose your calling day!” replied a man. “You stood up to the Barlog well, so we chose you to become a Spearman.” He faced Ariel. “And you to be a Cleric.”
“No joke?” said Crocher and Ariel together.
“No joke, we even have your first quest to do” replied the man.
“Which is?” asked Ariel.
“Why get to Victoria Island of course!” exclaimed the man. The villagers began to cheer and dance around. Crocher stood up. “So how exactly do we get there?” he asked.
The man pulled out a white rock. “With this!” he said.
“Do we touch it or something?” asked Crocher.
“Not yet, we gotta tell you something first. It’s a tale about a spear, that we want you guys to find.” He got all serious all of a sudden.

“A long time ago, the world was ruled by monsters. Humans had no way to stand up to them, and well, became slaves. Until one day, the villagers made a spear. It was their only way they could stand up for themselves. They put all their hope into this spear. They called it The Spear Of Hope. Anyway to make a long story short. The villagers were all killed when the monsters found out about the spear. Well, all except for one…rumor has it that the Spear Of Hope is hidden somewhere…….

“So why do you guys need it so bad?” asked Crocher.
“Because the monsters are planning to make the humans their slaves again” replied the man. ” With the spear we might be able to use it’s power….you know like use it’s ultimate power that saves us all type of thing.”
Crocher turned towards Ariel, “Wanna go and get that spear?” he asked.
“You know it!” she said as she rested her hand on the rock.
Crocher smiled “The Spear of Hope eh? Man, and I just moved here!” he thought. He put his hand on the rock. Everything started to spin. And then everything went black.

Little did our heroes know, someone dangerous was one step behind them
