A reunion I didn’t want

The following event occured about 6 months ago.

I had met a fellow chief bandit in my quest to be part of the elite, the top, the leaders of maple. We became quick-friends and he was pretty fun to pal around with. About 2 weeks later I reached level 80. This was a very important moment in my mapling career because it is the farthest I have ever gotten without the use of hacks, glitches, etc. Ironically the next day, I get hacked. It was a hard time for me during that time period because my real-life girlfriend just dumped me due to her religious beliefs (We’re not friends anymore. We used to, but we recently went into a conflict that ended our friendship about 3 weeks ago.) After getting hacked I lost contact with my friend, never to see him again…or so I thought.

I went into a state in which I was not attached to real-life or maple-life. I was lost and did not want to be found. I decided to return to the fantasy life of maplestory after I recovered 3 days later. I decided to make an assassin this time, but of course, that got old real quickly (he is currently retired at level 50.) Out of nowhere I became obsessed with irregular classes (dexless STR bandits, lukless mages, etc.), so I decided to make quite a bit of those. My dexless STR bandit is retired at level 32 and my lukless I/L wizard is retired at level 31 (sad I know.) With no other class to turn to (I never liked archers or warriors that much), I decided to make a beginner. It was kind of fun not having skills. Unfortunately, leveling became very difficult and I was shunned quite a bit from kpq a lot due to my no-skilled state. With all that said and done I then made a lukless fire/poison hybrid mage. He is currently level 45 and is progressing quite a bit.

After 6 months I thought to myself that since I have nothing else left, I could try getting my bandit back. Amazingly, I retrieved him in a day and I was back in action…but during those 6 months, I lost my passion for the bandit, and I was slowly retiring…then out of nowhere, I find my friend once again….but not how I expected him to be.

I might have finally reunited with him, but unfortunately, he had became a hacker…I was completely shocked. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was disappointed. He apparently had gotten hacked too and he stopped caring about the rules. If the mapling community was not going to be fair to him, he would not be fair to the mapling community. It’s extremely akward to be with him in the same map, but in buddy chat, it’s as if nothing ever happened.

Fortunately, he does not know about my fire/poison wizard…at least not yet. I try to avoid being with him, but I know that eventually I will lose him again; In other words, He will be banned. He shall be lost in a void, and real life shall grasp him by the throat and pull him away.

Even if the ban is only temporary, I know that there’s barely any string-lining left in his rope of faith. And then, another friend shall be lost, never to be found again. But that’s life; there’s nothing I can do. I’ll just have to move on…

  1. I never would’ve thought a guy named MuffinDinger could’ve written something as deep as this. o.o

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover I always say
Well, not always but you get the point.

  3. That happens a lot to me, it seems. It always breaks my heart, and I lost my BFF for months in a similar situation. A bunch of people I knew became someone completely different, and my closest friends became just people I used to know. Sad, huh.

    Well, welcome to MMOT? x]

  4. Muffin. . .*Takes out of the baby’s stomach in which Muffin is inhabiting and eats*
A lot of my friends became hackers and NX freaks.
I miss the nice old maple days, when people weren’t as stubborn and selfish as these days D:

    Heh. Thanks. x)

Don’t worry; My name does not mean dinging as in, intercourse related. Not at all. Before I got hacked, and before my real-life friends quit, instead of saying ‘level up’ we’d say ‘Ding! The muffins are ready!” because we felt like being random to the extreme.

Nothing was left. There was a crappy DragonTail on it but that was the only thing there. He’s fully equipped now but he’s retired. I’m trying to focus more on my lukless f/p mage and my beginner. I plan on getting my f/p to 3rd job and my beginner, well, lets just say if he makes it past 35 It’ll feel like that I’ve done the impossible. eheheh.

  8. Welcome to MMOtales.

Double welcome as well, since you have a ‘muffin’ in your name. >D

    And if anything, my New Year and Christmas this year seems to be made up exclusively of relationships made and broken. Of course, might be a trick of human memory, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a happier/sadder New Year/Christmas. And surprise surprise, most of it is because of Maplestory. >>;

Then, we just move on, like you said. :/
