The quests of horror

OK, there’s a lot of things I love about Maple Story – mainly the fact it’s simply not boring, well created and easy to get used to for everyone. But there’s two things that sometimes get on my nerves. And both of them are types of quests.

1. Jump quests. I’m not very manual-talented nor quick-fingered. Each time I see platforms with lasers, undead monsters and the worst – clock ticking down, I quickly get out of the map and call for my bf, which is also a Maple Story fan (lvl 65, warrior, co-owner of our website, responsible for the technical side mostly. 26 years old :D) and he can do that in no time. I always envy him but well, if that brings him pleasure, and I am just wrecking my nerves, why couldn’t he do it from time to time? There’s not so many jump quests in game after all.

2. Collect-thousands-of-item-A quests. If I may say so: LIKE, OMG! Aaaaah, better. Basically I hate such quests the most, like takin down drum bunnies to get 1k drums, or going to Omega to hunt down 1500 tentacles altogether or so. It’s a horror. When there’s noone at buddylist to talk to, or no party to get it done with, it becomes dull and boring minutes after start. In some Asian versions, for which those quests are developed, the drop rate for many of those items are higher, hence such quests are excused. But telling me to hunt down one type of monsters for one day is insane. I need to take far more longer breaks from playing, a little dissatisfired it takes so much time (and uses so much pots sometimes, too).

I’m glad there’s always some other stuff to do while playing, it’s not all about quests! Helping others, shopping, going sightseeing (I haven’t seen all of the maps yet!), meeting friends, mini-games, and so on. What do you enjoy the most while playing?

PS. Yes, I’m browsing around, you have really wonderful stuff going on here! Thanks for feedback

  1. I like roaming the FreeMarket and talking to people. I don’t really train or PQ much. I’d rather do quests and train than PQ though but PQ’uing is better exp most the time. I dunno, but I’m getting bored of MS a little. I’m downloading FlyFF right now so I’ll start playing it. 😉

  2. Yeah. . . . . .Those collect 1xxx of an item quests are hideously annoying and difficult to complete unless you actually TRAIN there.
