Dude, so you gotta try this new game..

Hey folks, Mip here. I come to you, as usual, with an awesome new game!

Well, to start my little tale of joy, it- as always, starts with a woe. I see Perfect World (an MMORPG labeled the most beautiful in China), and a shiney Phillipines ENGLISH version coming out July 11th: my excitement is high. It doesn’t matter to me that the program has an IP block, I thought I could hack to bypass it. (I didn’t say that, did I?) So I search for the download on the website, only to find a backed up FTP server that I couldn’t get a download from in a millon years.

So what does one do?

I torrent it. I find a decent torrent after a few hours of searching, and I begin my download, my quest to find the next best MMORPG!
Roll that music~!

So, fast foward two weeks. It’s still downloading. 5.4kB/s.. 2.0.. it seems to go slower by the minute. So I attempt to try my hand at looking through free MMORPGs, just to keep my boredom at bay, and I come across SilkRoad.

Now, you must understand, I’ve played Silk before. I didn’t find it particularily appealing, from the lack of friendliness amongst it’s players, to the lack of a supportive party system, but what caught my attention this time, wasn’t the game itself, but.. the expansion pack.

The Europe (or Euro for short) expansion was coming out the very next day, what luck! It looked interesting, it encouraged partying (or rather, made it difficult to level without one), and it was basically brand new. So I download it, and although I ran into some speed bumps along the way, it came together quite nicely.

Now, the party really begins on the 24th, on which I got up at 6 AM so I could be on when the expansion opened at 7. Well.. I turned on my alarm for 6, but somehow I blinked and it was suddenly 9. >_> I quickly rush downstairs after brushing my teeth and getting dressed, then sitting down with my tea and logging on. That used to be another one of my problems; there were so many botters, it would often take an hour or two just to log on. But fortunately for me, just before the expansion was released, they did a sweep to get rid of most of the botters.

All my friends are already online, and all level 5 or 6; but, my first reaction was that it was simply amazing. Everyone was clamoring for a party, and things were huge. Suddenly, I found myself tossed into an 8-man party, and things moved astonishingly fast, since I was a lone cleric amongst 7 others. (That’s another reason parties are nessisary in the Euro version. In the China version, you could just spam pots, like MS; but Euro, has a 20-second delay to use pots, making clerics a nessicity.)
It was fast paced and loads of fun! Everyone was amazingly friendly and social, since everyone was vying for their next party, and I even made some new friends! The first day went like that, and I was already level 18 by then, and dressed to impress.

+Check it out~ Aren’t the skills pretty?
+Me just sitting with my friends.
+Ooh yeah, fighting is fun. Or rather, they fight, I heal them.
+And again.
+Then me in my Zurk mode!

So all in all, my point is, you guys, you GOTTA try this version. It’s really awesome, really! It even gets my seal of approval. Today was just as fast, and then I noticed that the PE download finished, but.. I don’t even wanna play it. This’ll be enough for me for a while. I finally just got off to get some Zs, but before I did so, I had to drop you guys a line to let you know I was alive. <3

But it’s just about time to wrap it up for the night. Let me know what’s new, and I’m not dead, I promise! Just lurking, Steel-Whip Mip is far from gone. If you got something to pick on me for, PM me, if you got something cool to say, post it here and if you do join the Euro expansion, join the Troy server, look out for Behringer. I’m watching!

The day that just keeps going and going..

(P.S: I never thanked you guys for 50k+ views, so.. thank you!)

  1. So are the players more friendly and the parties more helpful in this expansion? Is there a great prevalence of botters or hackers?

(And what server do you play in, hmm? That’s like the most important thing.)

  2. *points up* I mentioned in there that I play on Troy.
The botters aren’t completely gone (I’m not too worried about the hackers, since the botters are really what causes problems logging on), but they’re gone to the point that I can log in on the first try, which is all I need really. Now that you mention it, I’ve never even seen a hacker there. o.o

  3. Yeah, totally.

Oh and, I played it before. It got boring after a week.

Mip, I have a question.. How much letters can I use for the name in making the character?

  4. New, person? I’m an admin, I’ve been here since two days after this site started, I’m hardly new. D:
In fact, you must be the new person! Hi.

  5. Sorry, the server name is glaring now that I see it. Glancing over it, I thought it was a weird in-game thing like “Zurk”. >_<

Estimated time remaining: 42 minutes (249/867MB copied). I know from Flyff that you only recommend good games, though I really need to be careful what types of people I befriend this time.

Quack, you’re the newest poster here, ya silly. :p

  6. I downloaded that game 3 days ago, seriously, the parties’ cool, but the potion delay stinks.
I was in a two man training party, and i kep shouting,”Damn! I’mma gonna die! SPAM POTS!”
    Only to find a delay.
    And my death.
And my friend, who heal himself instead of me.
Oh retribution willl befall on him.

  7. That’s okay, Quack. I just had to let you know how much fun I was having! ^__^

  8. Quack’s trying to start something, Mip. Give him the ol’ 1-2-buckle my shoe. >D

And, uhh, what’s the point of having tea after you’ve just finished brushing your teeth? O:
You’re gonna have to brush them growlers again! >.<
