Tips on Leveling up Part 2

This is the addition to Part 1. If you didn’t read it i suggest you do.(http://www.mmotales.com/blog/719/0/Tips_on_leveling_up.html)
These are tips for leveling up when you are in those harder to lvl up, levels. Lol

– Ludi PQ : Pure Evil and Gateway to heaven –

Yes! You are lvl 35 or above, now you can head to Ludi the 101st Floor. Get into a party and get massive Exp. Although it sounds godly, there are Pros and Cons. Well let’s start with the Pros:
– Massive XP for each stage, 2 Stages in Ludi pq equals 1 Kerning PQ.. In the Ludi PQ there are 9 Stages counting boss, and 2 Bonuses.
– Great Bonus. You can get scrolls, ores, equips, potions. (You can make money)
– Make friends ( Actually, Most of my friends i made throught PQing) lol

Now the evil

– The wait. Ludi PQ is designed to last for 60 Minutes. That means you have to wait around 45-60 Minutes before you can get in, and to get out.
– Hassle. This time PQ is 6 members. Sometimes you get stuck with complete morons, which make the whole expirience a drag
– Leaders/Tracks. The only way to truely enjoy PQ is to have a good leader and have tracks.
– Spoiled – Ludi PQ often spoils people. Not having to train makes you lazy, therefore when you are on your own. You will be less likely have fun leveling anymore.

I actually belive that you LVL alot faster by NOT pqing and you make alot more MONEY. Think about it this way, the time you waste waiting to get in, you could’ve been training and gotten alot more % in those 60 minutes than you would if you were pqing, you would’ve made more money, and had chances to find more items.

– Be Prepared –
Always carry alot of pots! If you already have established a place where you spend your time training, save yourself the trouble of having to repot every 10 minutes. If you are power training the money you waste on pots = the money earned training + profit.
I train on drakes so i usually have 400 manas, and 300 unagis. That lasts me about 2 hours of non stop killing.

Keep your ETC slots, and your EQUIP slots ready to pick up drops. Everytime you go repot, NPC (sell to non playing character) the items you pick up that are not useful, for example fire boar teeth. Drops like Dragon Skins, Cursedolls, etc (QUEST DROPS) Sell for alot more money than NPC price so sell that to the public.
When you go train, have a couple of empty ETC slots and EQUIP slots. PICK UP EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING IS PROFIT.

– Pot it up –
Pots are everyting. Do not waste your money on pots. If you have 2000 MP, do not buy Mana pots that put up only 300 MP. It is a waste of money. Think about it. It will take about 4 Mana to put up your MP again 4 x 603 (price of mana pot?) = 2,412 mesos. When 1 pure water = 1,106 ( around there?) The point is, although it might seem as if you buy cheaper pots, you save money. But in reality you are losing money.

– POTS, USE THEM WISELY –

Potions, potions, potion. I can’t stress how important they are. Don’t waste them. If you have 1700HP and a Unagi puts up 1000HP. Dont use a Unagi when your life is down to 1300HP. Because that is a waste of unagi.
You would have just waste a unagi that restores 1000hp to restore a lousy 400HP. A better time to use it would be if your life was down to 700HP .. [NOTE: This applies to MP pots, and it varies as with every level there are diffrent MP and HP]

– Party training/ Chatting –

Party training is not as good as training alone. The bigger the party the Less EXP you get. The highest LVL in the party will get the most EXP. Then you have LEECHERS. People who stand around talking while you are slaving yourself trying to level. Party training, is only good when the person you are training with is Killing fast, at the same pace as you.
Chatting with friends can also slow down your leveling, If you are training and you keep stopping to talk, it will take you longer to level. Tell your friends you are going to be training for the next hour. That way you can lvl in peace.

OK this is all i can think of for now.. Use these tips, with the tips i wrote before and you should be leveling everyother day. =)
Happy leveling!

  1. You have to keep in mind though, ignoring your friends to level can have it’s own consequences~
Partyquesting, Partyleveling, and just chatting are as necessary as just plain grinding in my opinion. Making friends and strengthening your social ties is important in online games. When you need a favor, it’s going to be hard to get it if you’ve been too busy training alone to talk to anyone. The people are what separate MMO’s from other games. They should be used to your advantage and not ignored/neglected. Otherwise, why play an online game at all? What’s the fun in ignoring people in a game that has no real “end” or way to win? There is no reward to grinding endlessly~ You’re getting higher levels or getting strong items, only so you can endlessly level more in different places. You could solo Jr. Balrog again and again, but how satisfying is that unless you have a solid base of good friends to celebrate it with?

Just my two cents XD I don’t mean anything mean by it~ Good tips/info though, especially on the potions~

  2. I agree 100%, I’m not saying to ignore your friends. I am still on Maple today because i have some of the greatest friends. Im just saying that if you are planning on taking time to level, it would be best if you concentrate on that. It is alot more faster than having a conversation while training. I died way to many times, trying to answer a chat. I do talk to my friends while i train, but i just comment on things here and there. Then after im done training for the day i go hang out with them.
