Buying game accounts

Sure, everyone wants to fool around with meso explosion, or show off with dragon roar. Although I don’t have first-hand experience, I think it’s safe to say that playing on a 3rd job character is considerably more enjoyable than training fruitlessly for hours on a level 27. But are you willing to pay hundreds of dollars just for that?

There are several high-leveled accounts that you can buy from Ebay and other auction sites, but it’s not a physical object, so you can’t even confirm its existence, let alone be sure that the login ID, password, and PIN # is correct. It’s just like that scam where someone paid thousands for what was said to be a PlayStation 3, and when he opened the box, he got 3 PlayStation 1s. It can easily be false information, yet people are spending their hard-earned money for something as insignificant as a game.

Some people fail to realize that the purpose of a game is to entertain you, not sap you of your finances and take over your life. If MapleStory isn’t enjoyable to you, don’t pay money to make it more enjoyable, as it defeats the purpose of a free game.

Suppose you miraculously managed to convince me that buying an account will make my mapling experience more fun through cooler skills, more money, more power, and more places to explore. Still, these questions, among others, remain. “What if my friends move to another server?” “Won’t I get bored of training for a week to simply level up?” “Training’s too hard, but if I hack, won’t I get banned?” Think about any of these questions, and you will realize that the account you bought will be obsolete soon enough.

I joined MMOtales after I saw that this was a community that was mature (with the exception of the occasional marauding punk), and I finish this blog with the hope that no one who reads this has, or will ever pay so much for something that doesn’t even exist, when the happiness that some people try to buy is all around them, but are too obsessed with games to accept that fact.

Life is too short to spend in front of a computer, growing fatter by the second.

  1. So true. But I think that people are kind of dumb because you could do a power-leveling thing from a site for way cheaper.
and lol it alreyd takes me like 1 month to level on my 58 clericxD

  2. lol really i mean spending like 5 millon dollars or something on tigers account(fake info) i bet some noob would actually bid it

  3. 3 PS 1 s. Bet he was pissed. That was so cruel, man. And I do spend more time then Im supposed to in front of a comp, sadly. Go read my blogs for confrimation.

Anyway, i agree with what you say.

  4. Exactly. But it reminds me of a quote from a famous movie,

“A person? A person is an intelligent, thoughful animal capable of unlocking the mysteries of the universe. People are dumb, panicky, defenceless animals, and you know it.”

That was Men in Black, by the way. But it’s true. A person might be smart enough to avoid this, but “people” aren’t intelligent enough to realize how wasteful it is!
