Well its Guru here. I haven’t blogged for a while, so I’m gonna make this long…I think…I hope

Anyway, what I am here to blog about is very confidential and should not leave MMOTales into the hands of the not-so-bright people at Basilmarket. Its about a game. A very kick-arse game. A game that would make Nexon cry. Cry so much. I love to see Nexon cry. It makes me smile.

Now asides my personal fued with Nexon I present to thee here at MMOTales a very fine game. A game called…

Sounds like it came out of Bleach, eh? With the whole Arrancar Espada thing going on right now. But sadly no. It does not take place in Huego Meundo or Karakura town or Soul Society. Rather it takes place in around 16th-17th Europe. Have no idea how that looks? Just think “Shakespeare”. Hate being reminded of Shakespeare? Oh well, the game still rocks.

So what makes this game good?

There are 8 unique features in Granado Espada. (taken from the website but explained more by me)

1. MCC (Multi Character Control)

In Granado Espada, you can control 3 characters…at the same time. Whoa yeah…I know its crazy. I mean the creators must have been screwed up in the head to even think of that!

Anyway, yes; 3 characters can be controlled at the same time. In the beginning of the game, you are given a choice to make a Fighter(melee weapons), Wizard(staves), Scout (healer/rogue type), Musketeer(guns), and Elementalist(enchanted bracelets). For more info, check these out.

2. NPC Collection

Lets not stop there. You can even have NPCs join our team once you perform certain quests.

3. Stance

In the game, you can buy stances. For example, for a fighter, there is the high-guard stance which allows you to use a sword and a shield. If you buy the twin swords stance, you may use two swords at once. What makes it even better is that you can switch stances anytime you want without any penalty.

4. Baroque Style

As stated before, its got that old style to it. Yet…the characters don’t look ugly at all. They look awesome

5. The Age

The characters aren’t chibi or anything. They look like they are in their 20s.

6. Family Management

Even though you can have 3 characters in your team, you can make up to 9 characters that you can use. Unlike other games…where the limit is 3 >.

7. Music Feast

This is no lie! It literally is a musical feast since there is a jukebox option within the game. Each map has around 4 soundtracks with it and you are given the option of changing songs while in battle if one song doesn’t suit your style. All the songs I’ve listened to thus far are great.

8. Gorgeous Scenery

This isn’t a lie either.

At first, I thought that this game was too good to be true. I wondered how it could be free to play. Then when I played it, I realized that they will make money through cash shop. I’m old enough to have a credit card now. Make the connection .

All in all, the game is very good. However, there are always the minor faults here and there (even if its sooo hard to find in this game). So here is my Pros and Cons list

Pros

~PWNS Maple Story hands down. No argument allowed on this.
~Plays like Final Fantasy 12 with the three character system
~You make a Family Last name, meaning that your character’s first name can be anything! This way you don’t have an excuse to make a stupid first name
~The three character system hasn’t been done before
~Fights are action packed
~Good deal of quests
~Great Graphics and minimum requirements aren’t as high as you may think. Only 64 mb video memory needed.
~You can PVP duel any random person you see (with permission from them)
~Guild Fights
~When you die, you revive in 60 seconds (this way you don’t get sent all the way back to town and lose EXP)
~New Equips available around every 4 levels
~Training isn’t boring at all (finally a game that does it right!)
~Partying is cool. Its like you have a giant gang backing you up
~Music doesn’t go in annoying loops and you can pick which songs to listen to

Cons
~Some areas require a party or atleast other people being there. You may have three characters, but the mobs make up for it.
~The fact that finding cons is a hard thing for a critic, thus forcing them to lose their job.

So ultimately, this game is awesome. I love it. Don’t believe me? It won best game in Korea. The following are the links proving it true:

In other words, this game totally owns. You will be a very happy human being once you let it grace your hard drive as it whirs during installation while it consumes 3.5 GB. You then cry in your heart and wonder why you are ridding yourself of 3.5 GB that could have gone to [public domain] music downloads…yeah…’public domain’…

So at last, this game gets my kudos. It gets:

Why such a low grade? Its in pre-open beta right now thats why.

~MapleStory: 7/10 (used to be 7.8/10 in my books)
~FlyFF: 8/10
~RF Online 8/10
~Kingdom Hearts (okay so its not an MMO): 10/10
~Ragnarok Online: 8.5/10

Make the comparisons. If you love MS so much right now, then just imagine Granado. ;D
