Guru Explains Why Hackers Hack

“Why do people hack?”

It’s a question that has graced forums and blogs alike. Its a question that makes me feel like this: link

Yep!

Anyway, if people haven’t figured it out by now, I thought I would inform them and make them see why hackers hack. This way Nexon loses more money because: Nexon – money = good. Yes; I hate them ever since they took over the rights to publishing Maplestory. All that I loved about Maplestory was lost in that moment. It was a sentimental moment. Leave me alone.

Anyway! On to the meat of the blog! Why hackers hack! The real reasons why! Finally you guys get to know!

List of things wrong with MS. The reasons why people hack:

Approved by 9 out of 10 hackers

~Levelling system sucks

It really does. In comparison to many other MMOs I’ve played; the MS leveling system isn’t anything special. In comparison to JMS, its a joke! I mean, its all good between level 30 to about 40. Its decent between 40 to 50. It actually gets fun between level 50 to 60. But then comes level 65; you are basically given the last quests of their kind. And then you reach level 70. I did; it took me one and a half years; but I did. In fact, I hacked levels 68 to 70 because I just stopped caring. Now after level 70, you are given ten levels to hone your skill. It may seem fine, but lets look at other factors: life.

Now I’m not saying that if you level so danm fast you have no life. I’m not saying that at all. I’m just talking about my life. I mean, I do not wish to devote all of my precious time leveling away in front of a computer eventually developing CTS. I mean, I try grinding. Guess what? It sucks! I mean I have quite an attention span, but in all seriousness, I just can’t put up with it! I mean, this is what I have to put up with:

~Only a few good levelling spots
~Pain in the butt to find yourself a spot free from someone training
~When you start training, it takes 10 minutes for me to get 1 percent; 10minutes*10 to get 10% and at last: (10minutes*10)*10 = required time for one whole level! That my friends is

16.6666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666… hours! Couple that with school and guess what? It ain’t so dandy.

~You are given one (two if your a lucky class) attack skills that you must use forever

Thats right. Up until level 70, a warrior only has two damage techniques: slash blast and power strike. Its even more sad for a hermit-to-be: Lucky Seven

I made a warrior; I hate long range classes and got bored of them. Do the math

~The game is all about making the perfect clone. *rolls 12 on INT* sweet![/sarcasm]

Okay, here is the basis of any class:

get 4/4 for stats that your future class doesn’t need. if your a warrior who used up a point in INT; guess what? It ain’t helping you. IF you’re a mage who put a point in STR, its pointless in the end when you need to dish out real magic damage. If your a Sin, you need Luck and its pretty much a necessity to have dex=level*2.

What I just stated aren’t suggestions to make a proper character on MS. Those are pretty much the LAWS of character development on MS. If you screw up, you do less damage. I know this because Guruji, my warrior, had perfect stats for a mage, maxed slash blast at level 45, maxed MAX HP increase at level 50, and actually bothered putting points into Iron Body. Anyway, what was the result? Crap damage! YAY! Ultimately, I chose my own path for my warrior and ended up having crap damage and low money.

~Monotonous leveling. You have to train in one spot for a long time

Its always fun to stay at one leveling spot with the same looping music while fending off against the KSers that come; hiring people to take your spot until you come back, etc.

I mean, in later levels, such as 70, you don’t have much of a choice but to train at golems or zombies. Good luck getting a spot at golems or zombies *snickers*

~MS Training regimen: buy pots, kill monsters, go back to town, sell drops, rinse, and repeat

Please tell me that I’m wrong.

~Quests don’t give you so much EXP. Do they give good money if you get a good item? Yes. Good Exp? No

Face it. Quests may give you the run for your money, but your EXP would mostly remain unphased.

~PQs! Once you leave level 21-30 PQ, you’ll reach the other PQs. The ones where you have to wait and wait and when you get in and get through, you only get 4~10%. Well thats great! I coulda been grinding!

Yep. The guild PQ isn’t so great for a warrior at 70 either.

~Warriors don’t make sense at all! They are the close range fighters and they have the lowest accuracy and always miss. It pisses us off. It doesn’t make sense. WERE RIGHT THERE BESIDE THE FRIGGIN MONSTER!

MS always make it so hard for warriors. They are the close range fighters who have to deal with almost all the crap in the game. Primarily: KSers. In my 2 years of playing MS I had to deal with legions upon legions of KSers. I had to go on defame wars countless amount of times. I swear I used to access all the accounts I had access to and just defame the crap out of jack arse sins who pissed me off.

Now about Warriors doing damage? Well lets just say that we thrive off of accuracy. We love Bless, we love high dex gloves. We love it all. And why?

Just picture this scenario:

The lone warrior walked on his pathway towards the fields of zombies where he would train for the day. However, on the way he met up with the dreaded Lycanthrope. Thus the warrior stuck the giant white wolf that was just a foot away from him; but he missed. He then struck at it again, but for some odd reason he just couldn’t hit the monster. He struck the fur yet above its head, the words “MISS” were spelled. He struck at the monster’s head; he hit it. Yet for some reason it still says “MISS”

Does it make sense? For some reason, arrows and throwing stars almost always hit the enemy that is 30 feet away, yet for some reason, a warrior’s sword will always miss?

Yet another reason why I hate sins. Archers I don’t hate so much since there aren’t as many as sins.

~I heard defense calculations just got screwed up. Thats just grand! Screw up warriors more! They are already a B***H to train!

Yay! Its such a great reason to come back to MS and not hack!

~partying gets you no proper experience unless if you have a priest with Holy Symbol

Its true. Deal with it.

==========================

Anyway, the list can go on. that is why i hacked MS; ecause it sucked and Nexon very much deserved all the legits getting pissed off at them for not doing anything about it. Bad game? Eat bad customer relations, b!@tch!

But of course, lets not forget the good things about MS

The good things about MS:
~It was a good concept. The other versions are doing well; but Nexon still hasn’t gotten a clue. Take an example from Asiasoft, Nexon
~The best Friend/Buddy system in ANY MMO by far. MS is the only MMO i’ve played where the chat system is awesome. Its remarkable; better than MSN at times. Seriously, I love the MS Buddy list.

But of course, all of those good don’t help me level fast. Therefore I hacked. Therefore I gave my friends those hacks. That is why they hacked. For all the reasons given above. In fact, I remember when we all started hacking again. It was more fun than actually training. Good times. It doesn’t feel the same without hacks anymore.

So there you have it guys. Your questions answered. This is why hackers hack. Is it their fault that they choose to hack and break their agreement with the EUA? Yep. Is it their fault that Nexon isn’t fixing up MS? Nope! Do I want to turn this into a debate where legits and hackers try to impose their own morals and ethics onto each other? Nope! I just wanted people to know why hackers hacked, that is all.

Advice to Nexon

Just put up another patch that not only screws up hackers, but at the same time makes MS better. Here is some advice:

~Read the bolded points in my blog if you want to know what to do to stop this influx of hackers. If you don’t , its only you, Nexon, that will lose.

PS. Don’t message me asking for hacks. I’m not going to give them to you ;D. If you ask anyway, I’ll just exploit you and tell people on this site who you are so that they can point at you and say “Ooooh! Badman hacker! Lets throw stuff at him!”

  1. If you find Maple such a bore, why don’t you just ignore it? Like just pressy the DELETE button, and hacking ain’t gonna get ya nowhere.

  2. Is gujju your sister?

Err, back to the blog: I guess it would be nice to get to like, level 70 so the high levels stop giving you crap. xO

Actually, I suppose 70 isn’t really high anymore either

  3. Agreed with all the reasons why GMS sucks. But it also sucks that in GMS you can’t really be legit anymore; there are far too many people using hacks.

There’s been times I considered hacking, but then I played this hacker simulation of MS (Hackerstory) and it was so boring just watching this stick figure stand in one place while all the monsters were in a pile getting damaged LOL.

So if I want to play MS I just go to MSEA, since the exp is better, drops are better, etc.

  4. You want know what ? People who hack aren’t bad . Its the sucky training that bores people out . And Roisin , Hackerstory is pretty lame . The real hacking stuff , it’s awesome ;D

  5. repty: some people who hack aren’t bad. There are some who really enjoy going to lengths to ruin the game for others.

Ya, I agree about Hackerstory, lol. I played it for all of 5 minutes and I think my IQ dropped a little. (ToT)

  6. Is it just me or is that link picture Ichigo from Bleach? Looks like an arrancar’s arm is around him. Anyone else agree?
Back on topic, yeah, I believe I would hack if only my already hacked and infected/killed pc did have a systemcallretriever or something.

    ~Lily x33.

  7. That ain’t Ichigo. That’s Kyo, the cat, from Fruit Basket, better known as Furuba.

’cause it’s more fun to see just how far you can get before you’re temp banned (that’s right. Only temp. If you wanna get perma banned, try NX fraud. Don’t screw around with Nexon’s money.) and you get wiped off of the rankings (oh noes!).

It’s also fun to see how much better the game is when you level at a freakishly accelerated pace. =) Shockingly, it isn’t that much better.

Yes, I hacked as well, but I wasn’t the jerk that came onto your channel while you were at Zombies and vacced them into the sky (this also applies to skeletons).

  9. Everything you wrote is right EXCEPT for the new def system. Warriors take a bit less damage then before now! ^______^ Yeah I know it’s pretty pathetic.

  10. Total agreement. Pin exploit was patched 3 hours after it got leeched by the way.

LIAR WE TAKE 1.5X MORE DAMAGE D:

  11. Wierdos. I’m fine with ms, so far. I haven’t seen any hackers either, My def has been the same. Is there something I’m missing or what?!?!
