GE – photo album masquarading as blog

I had some initial reservations about GE, when a friend told me about it. I’m sure those elementalist dresses are meant to have front panels, and men didn’t use to wear belts the way those wizards do. But I’m glad for the distraction from Maple; I’ve been playing that for 1.5 years now, and frankly am just waiting for some other game to pull me away. GE may just succeed in doing that, but at least not until I use up the rest of my NX cash.

For some reason, I decided to chuck “red cross” into a random (and probably unreliable) English/German translator page, and take whatever came out for my family name. Don’t ask, because I don’t know why either. I’m playing on the Pachelbel server, since I have no stomach for pking.

Anyway, first things first, the family roster….
Ilya – fighter
Isidor – wizard
Oliver – scout
Leona – musketeer
Seraphina – fire/ice elementalist

I originally planned to have 2 teams going: fighter/wiz/scout and ele/musk/scout, but realised that there was no way I can afford bullets at 25 vis/100, even if I grind by hand and pick up all the loot. So I got Seraphina to take turns afk-training with Ilya and Isidor, before letting her kick Leona up a few levels by herself.
All this means that I now have a favourate afk spot in King’s Garden near Coimbra, as you will see in the screenshots. I keep my speaker on when I’m semi-afk, to listen for the ringing sound when a piece of eq or gem drops. It’s sort of disturbing though, since there’s always some afk family repeatedly dying in the background…..

Screen the First: My main team, killing their way through the Tetra Hills. I’ll be training them in the Tetra Dungeon after my final exams.
Screen the Second: The problem with fighters – they tend to run off in a frenzy while in patrol mode and then forget to rejoin the group. Even worse, they sometimes drag your scout with them.
Screen the Third: Everyone’s training hard for Leona while she runs around being silly. Hadouken!
Screen the Fourth: Seraphina threatens to burn Leona alive, accidentally giving Oliver 1st degree burns to the head in the process.
Screen the Fifth: Leona decides to “help” by guarding the loot.
Screen the “are we done yet?”-th: Tea time. Seraphina and Oliver argue about how bison mass manufacture perfect, gold plated porcelain tea cups, and whether the tea inside is really suitable for human consumption.
Screen the Seventh: A double musketeer family ran out of bullets and decided to drop by for a chat and some protection.
Screen the Last: Isidor practises his New World break-dancing moves.

While trawling through forums to look for tips, l was surprised by how much personality people give their family members. But then again, it’s a bit of a relief, because I’ve caught myself doing that too, and it’s good to know I’m not turning into a nutcase. Or at least not the only one going mad. And I totally understand why one person described their male fighter as an idiot heir, after listening to the voice for that class/gender combo.

  1. Lol, I had no idea when I started! Though I imagine they’ll have pking eventually, else they wouldn’t call them pk servers.

  2. I heard at family level +6 is when you can start pking. I haven’t seen anyone with that level, and I haven’t seen anyone pk either, only duel.

Pretty screens btw. Photoshop? or is there a certain glow setting in game options?

  3. Screenies are raw and un-edited, except for the 1st one where I decided to put in a silly dialogue.
Not sure if your game settings are different from mine, but it might be the reddish glow from the afternoon/desert-y theme of the area. It was shocking when I first walked in, because the whole path from Roblo-thingy to King’s Garden had a lush green look to it.

  4. Ahh okay. Haha. I haven’t been to the desert place yet (too low-levelled).

Guruji: I think we need an MMOT faction.

  5. Could we have a MMOT faction? It’ll be so awesome cool.

    Nice SSes.

    As for personalities for my characters. . . Munky called me something close to insane after reading my RP-ish blog about them >>;

  6. nice Screen Shots ^^ Thanks for the advice I am now rushing till level 21 on Caravaggio and ya Caravaggio does not really have PK on the early training grounds, But they have the PK on higher level people that bots -.-Some people even thank them for botting -.-||
