Well, it’s now 12:23 am my time, and I just loged into MMO tales a short while ago to find a bunch of comments on my other entry. I deffinatly feel the love from all of you <3. Seems a bit crazy around here, but crazy is good. Makes life more fun. Anyway, in response to the responses (that sounds redundant), I will do my best to keep my blogs about MMOs, specifically MapleStory, though I did play FFXI and FlyFF for a while. Also, I HATE 1337 speak, but I will sometimes find myself saying “plz” or “w/e” and the dreaded “lol” quite often. I’m not sure if they are actually leet speak or just short hand, but I’ll minimize them as much as I can.

So, MapleStory, all of you who played today should know about the update. what was it, 14 hours total? Too long for me, yet I still found myself sitting at the computer when the time came and trying to update. The first few trys I couldn’t even connect, but the people over on MapleTip were so sure that it was working that I tried a few more rounds. Finally I got in, and slowly it began.

After about 15 minuets of sitting, and maybe 20% of stage 1 of 3 getting done, I got up and cooked a microwave pizza. With so many people logging in, I knew it would be a long wait. I turned the TV on to BBC and after a show or two went back to check on the status. It never fails that when you leave a computer to work on it’s on, it has a Marvinisim (see Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy books/movie) and says “What’s the point?” and just dies.

So I start it again, and this time I sit and wait, watching, and surfing the web (my connect was hardly being used, it was all on Wizet/Nexon side) and find myself again on MapleTip fourms. I notice someone saying he just updated with a “Manual Patch”, and I was curious about that. I brought up Explorer and went to the download page, all while the normal patchr was almost done with stage 1 of 3 now. Right there was a link to patch the game for v0.34, a handy item, but still, the basic patch was running fine now.

Long story slightly shorter, it failed, and I used the manual patch. Much faster as people didn’t seem to be downloading it. Go figure. By time I got in, there was a number of people moving about, but they were all over in Henesys, mostly in channel one. It was a bit strange, but hey, it was an update and a big even.

I rushed over the get the quests, first to the Maple Admin for the basket, then to Mad Bunny, but not before taking a screeny of channel 1, Kerning City Party Quest area….totally empty. Anyway, I get there, and they want 100 squishy liquids, 100 sticks, and 1 red ribbion (how does that make a basket?) and then the Bunny wanted the basket and 10 green eggs. Figured better start with what I know, and made good use of Arrow Bomb in the Slime Tree (good times) then mass murder stumps near Perion, except some DK thought it was funny to kill ones I was headed for, so I kill stealed him for a good 10 minuets and got a fair amount of sticks.

He left, I kept going, blah blah blah, got to 100, scanned the Cash Shop for the bow (remembered it from that one Orbis quest) and went and got my basket. Then to the eggs. I wasn’t sure how exactly to get them, but around various areas, like every area, I had passed for the other items were yellow eggs….with feet…..and something of a ranged attack….that was strange, but where are the green?

Didn’t take me long to find them around Sleepywood, but took forever to find 10, bad drop rate. A few thousand arrows and a few hundred pots later, I had them. I felt down right giddy to see that quest complete pop-up. Ran back to town (I think teleport scrolls are for people that are too lazy or too busy), and tossed my items at the Bunny.

That was the worst event ever.

He gave me some carrots, that work pretty much like the chocolate from Valinentines, but with alot more work. I was annoyed, and none of my guild had gotten in yet, so I logged off and made a character on the new server. She’s going to be a warrior, 4/5 INT/LUK, so I might delete her (perfectionist), I mostly want that new hat. Well now that I’ve clogged everything with text, time for a picture or two.
