Maple Story’s Top Ten Training Spots

(I’m classifying similar spots together as one, since they’re by nature pertty much the same thing)

10th place: Pig Beach
Pigs and Ribbon Pigs are amazingly rewarding creatures, both in term of experience and money. It comes as no surprise then that it is one of the most popular training spots for level 15-25s. However, this place is not without competition, and with the Iron Hog as well as many high level players present it isn’t as popular as some other training spots. Still, one of the more populated spots in the game.

9th place: Cold Field I
A decent alternative to Zombies which is almost always full, this place has its share of popularity. Basically, Hectors are Zombie-lites with less experience, and especially in Scania many people train here. Not much popularity outside Scania though.

8th place: Jr Kitties
Back when OMS was just released and Ossyria just out, this was a VERY popular 4x training map. Ratz, Pink Teddies and Mask Fishes out the crowd is thinner than before, but this place is still pretty popular. You don’t see a lot of people though because there are four maps available.

7th place: Forgotten Path of Time <III> (Death Teddies)
This is a famous place for what my friend calls “DT Orgies”. One of the better training spots for 8x people of just about any classes, this is one of the more popular large party maps. It’s also pretty good for soloing, but Lost Time (Master Death Teddy) is also nearby so it isn’t the most popular map, but a very good map for training regardless.

6th place: Warped Path of Time <IV> (Spirit Vikings)
Whoever designed this map must really loved archers and hermits, because it’s filled with sniping spots. Pretty much every platform in the map (except for one on the top and the bottom, of course) has a spot where you can snipe safely, and it also can be frozen. In addition, it also drops Ilbi. Because of that, this map attracted practically every (very) high level Hermit, Archer, and Ice Mage, as well as the occasional WK, Crusader and Chief Bandit. The only factor that limited its popularity is the number of high level players.

5th place: Slime Tree (The Tree that Grew I)
Pretty much every character in the game has spent several levels slashing/hacking/stabbing/shooting/burning/piercing/whatevering slimes at their earliest levels (I’m talking about 1x), and Slime Tree was the perfect map to do so since it got relatively nice terrains and layouts which can support several person at once. Definitely one of the more popular maps in the game.

4th place: Land of Wild Boar
Boars are one of the best monsters to hunt when you’re level 25-40, and this is the best map to hunt them in. Jr Boogies have scared away some lower level players, but this remains one of the most popular maps in the game. In Scania you can practicaly find 10+ people every channel if you’re not playing in midnight or something.

3rd place: Ant Tunnel
Zombie Mushroom is pretty much a more fragile but more hurting version of Wild Boars, and the lack of Jr Boogies effectively attracted almost every 25-30 magician and maybe assassins here. You just know that it’s so popular when these mushrooms keep on spawning.

2nd place: Forest of Dead Woods (Zombies)
This come as no surprise. Zombies give 190 experience and spawn in concentrated numbers, and the HP/experience ratio is one of the best at nearby levels. Most jobs can effectively start killing ’em at level 50 all the way until 8x, and those things give crapload of money as well. Heck, in Scania these maps are so full they’re practically tradable! The only reason why they are not #1 on the list is because of the existance of…

1st place: Henseys Hunting Ground I
Yup… HHG1. No map speaks popularity than HHG1 is, despite the fact that it’s not really the most stellar map to hunt on. The whole map is so well structurized that it can literally support 20-30 people without problem, and it’s so crowded you practically lag when you enter it. Henseys Hunting Ground I is, without a doubt, the most popular training spot ever, and will likely remain so in the future.

  1. Land of Wild Boar, HHG 1, and pig beach are very popular. Very good training in the first two. =]
