hhg 1

Well, yesterday I madea new mage. He’s lukless as of now, and probably headed towards being a cleric. It’s the first charachter I’ve made in quite a while, and it took nearly two hours to get 4/4 on str and dex.

stats as of level 18:

str: 4
dex: 4
int: 89
luk: 8

and I went claw immidiately after MP increase, since he’s got around 2 mill to spend on pots. It’s amazingly fast trainning. The perfect break from my sin, and I haven’t lost any money levelling. I’d be even still, if I hadn’t had to scroll a wand.

So anyway. On to the main subject of this blog – his experience at HHG where I’ve levelled since 8.

When I first came in to HHG, I was a level 8 mage. I wacked snails endlessly, trying to get more MP for my bolt. This lasted one level, when I started killing the red snails in two hit instead of three. In my first level, which lasted around 7 minutes I changed channels three times, and each channel had a vac hacker sitting under the map. I didn’t even know they could do that there.

I moved on, as I levelled my INT became higher than normal mages, and I got stronger. Going claw before MP regen helps A LOT. I made it to slimes at level 13, and had the easiest level of my MS carreer until that point. I spent the next level there as well, and it was even easier, due to claw coming into use.

Then things started to go wrong again. I moved up to orange mushrooms, and instantly had more trouble holding a map level. A pure INT mage with a scrolled wooden wand is already stronger than any other class at that level. I’m dealing up to 130, 140 per hit on claw at times. Still, I had plenty of people tell me “ONG noob u wear tshirt go back to snail lololol” and “wooden wand teh suxxorz get new equip noob” or, my favorite, after repeating six or seven times I’m a lukless mage – “So do you want to buy my (enter name of mage equip that requires luk here) or not noob?”

Beyond people like this, there are the KSers. I’ll be happily trainning on the orange mushroom ledge, all alone, and doing better than keeping up with the spawn, WHILE looting. Warriors walk up to my level of the map, start trying to kill mushrooms from where I was trainning, and then complain when I hit it. Future sins will jump into the level I’m on, and even when I ask them to leave, (politely, in proper english) they’ll laugh, and tell me how mages suck.

And then, I get yelled at by everyone else, for thinking that I should have the same respect here as is expected on every other map in maple. In a normal map (say, jr. kitties?) designed for one person, if you see someone trainning, you moove. In a map like pig beach, designed for multiple people you take an area that ISN’T full, or leave. Why not in HHG 1? what makes it so different?
