What to do?

What do you do when you discover that your friend is hacking in order to level up? Tell them to stop? Yeah, that works. But if they don’t…

You’re their friend, right? You can’t just report them and be done with it!

While I honestly wish this were a hypothetical situation, it’s not. A friend of mine has been hacking up his levels by vaccing monsters. The only reason I know this is because he is in my guild, and I was checking levels over one day and he was at 71, and the next day had shot up to 76. 5 levels, even for a Priest, in the span of 15 hours? Can’t be. It happened again recently too. From 80-85 within the timeframe of a day. I don’t know how he’s doing it (does the child ever sleep? O_o) but it’s happening.

I dunno what to say. He never gave me a straight promise to stop anytime soon, and the rest of the guild (we’re all rather good friends, so I guess it’s best to say that all of us) are beginning to hate the fact that he isn’t stopping. Why can’t he just enjoy the darn game?

Now here’s the thing. He has a year-around boarding school thing that he goes to, and is only home and able to really play on Friday nights and Saturday and sometimes on the early parts of Sunday, before he goes back to school from Mondays through Fridays and has no game access. But on one occasion that I’ve seen his levels shoot up (I think it was his 80-85 one?) it was during a weekday.

Then my friend mentioned that he said he shares his character with his cousin.

Does this cousin really exist? If so, is he the one hacking? Or are they both doing it?

It confuses me greatly.

Oh, and good news. Now some of my other friends (from my former guild) are planning to go on a witchhunt for him. They’ll report like crazy and probably flood Wizet/Basil Market with screenshots. All on the command of my former guild leader.

Read my previous blog for info. It’s Thomas again, and the person he’s after, my friend, is the one who was bequeathed the godly earrings when Thomas left Bera.

Fate can sometimes be very ironic and coincidental. XD

Still lost on what to do. I haven’t given my old guild a reply on whether or not I’ll be kicking my friend from my current guild. Despite the fact that they “hate” him now because he’s a hacker (…They hate all hackers actually. I wonder what they’d do if my same situation happened to one of their own), I don’t think they’re aiming to get the rest of us in trouble. Just sounds like they want my friend banned.

Expell him or no? I guess it all depends. The one thing is, he gave me about 4 million mesos because he wanted a Guild symbol (I supplied the last million), and we got ourselves a pretty spiffy icon now. So I feel kinda bad kicking him. As another friend said, “It is mean to just expell him, but what can you really do if he doesn’t stop hacking?”

Guh.

I think he’s level 86 now. Legit training or not, I can’t be sure. 86 actually took him more than a day or so. But my instincts are telling me that it’s no good.

It’s all riding on what my old guild does now, I guess. =P

  1. Well. . .
    Wait.
    Why are you asking this?
Your main question is whether to expell him because your guild wants you to.

Well, what do YOU want to do?
You say that you give pity for him because he’s a good friend and that he helped you out with money issues.
The bad sides? Well, there is that one issue that’s in the past, but. . . The biggest concern I saw that you had was because your friends hated him.
Well forget about what they’re thinking.
    Do you want to?

At any rate, your friends seem pretty determined to Maple Murder him.
Do you want to just give up and join them?
Do you think that you have the power to stop them by not banning him?

Just follow what will make YOU happy and do everything in your power to work towards that aim.
Like that one Kelly Clarkson song! 😀 (Gawd I hate her >_>. . .)

Anyways, good luck. I hope it turns out. . .
Well, I guess we won’t know until you post the results ^^:
    Good luck. Take care.

LISTEN TO YOUR HEEAAART. . . WHEN HE’S CALL-
    Ew.

  2. Lol @ IndigoLove. For some reason it’s just really funny to me when people refer to a certain song, and then say they hate it. lol.

Yay, friends who turn out to be hackers. Isn’t it just great . . . -_-

  3. i think he was actually botting, using a perfvac at the same time,
    but yea, he’s 88 now -_-,
said he’d stop hacking but looks like he’s doin it again
