Diary of a White Knight, part 12

Reversed fate.

June 31, Orbis.

Maybe there is still hope for me after all…or maybe this is just another loss I must incur for what I have done…

~~~
We were sitting back to back on the grass, in the shade cast by a tree, talking about things.
-Do you believe in Fate?
-Well, I guess, why do you ask?
-Because I do believe in it.
-More details please?
-I met someone while I was in Orbis, helping out on a Party Quest.
-A girl?
-Yes, a wonderful person.
-Leo’s in L-O-V-E!
-*sigh*, stop teasing me Cyllia…
-But am I wrong?
-She doesn’t know does she?
-No she does not…should I tell her?
-Well you just met her yesterday, things can’t be too far between you two already now can they?
-You are right, I just have to wait and see what happens.
-Well, we should go, there are still things we need to take care of today am I wrong?
-No, let us be on our way.
I stood up and readjusted my sword in its sheath while she took her daggers and hid them back in her White Seraph, under an extra, stealthy, piece of cloth. We took a look around for other potential dangers and seeing none, we went on our way back to Henesys, walking through an ocean of bloody corpses.
People were staring at us, I guess it is just normal since I was wearing a Casual Suit with a Green Tie, a pair of Old School Uniform Pants, Black Dress Shoes and had a pair of Yellow Shades on. It was a strange contrast with her White Casual Suit, White Jeans and Heels despite her Yellow Shades, we were an odd pair to say the least.
-Do you want me to be there for you tomorrow, Leo?
-I would appreciate your assistance greatly if you offer it.
-Gosh can’t you just say a simple yes?
-Sorry…
-Well at least that’s better, you say sorry instead of your usual apologies.
-Duck!
Not even taking the time to ask why, Cyllia threw herself down, just in time to avoid a volley of eight arrows. On a hill near the local weapon shop, a Ranger and a Sniper were aiming their weapons at them. Drawing a symbol in the air, her fingers leaving a blue trail behind them, as soon as she was done she put her hand on it and it shattered into a cloud of glittering blue dust that floated around us and disappeared.
I ran up to the hill amazingly fast, the instantaneous effects of her Haste skill were undeniably useful for me to close up the distance with my targets. She was ahead of me though, I saw her slip her twin daggers out of her Seraph Cape in her right hand as her left hand fumbled around her pockets.
The pair, seeing us running at them so fast shot another volley of arrow before moving back. Cyllia jumped right at them, taking her left hand out of her pockets with a single, 1 meso coin and flipped it at the arrows. She blew up that single coin and took entire volley down, nothing was left of them.
-They are kiting us, might be a little hard for me to get close enough and it is not exactly easy for you either since we are both melee fighters.
-To hell with melee Leo! In these situations, you just have to improvise!
-As reckless as ever are you not?
-I got that from you.
I did not even have time to reply, she took one of her daggers in her left hand and threw the other one at the Ranger. She hit her mark and a few coins fell off her dagger’s hilt, custom made daggers always have a little secret. As soon as she saw the glimmer of the coins she blew them up in one colossal explosion.
There was a small, smoking crater where the explosion occurred, we approached it and saw that there was barely anything left of the two that attacked us. Cyllia’s bombing partner came out of the hole and handed her dagger back, it was in perfect condition but a little dirty and faded he away after.
-Never a dull day with you huh Leo?
-Sorry…
-No worries just treat me for diner tonight.
-We should go now then, it is getting late.
-Okay.
I have…one day left.
  1. Interesting. But I do think the flow was broken by that ‘information overload’ on the characters’ outfits. Maybe if you could have found a less ‘in-game’ way to put it across, lol.
    But yep. Interesting. ^^
