Chapter 5; This is just the beginning

In a dark alley in the narrowest corners and joints of El Nath, there stood two figures; a guy and a girl. The guy was a warrior carrying three heavy looking swords and the girl was a mage, dressed in black and gold.

“Ahem,” the guy coughed. He looked into the distance, mountains covered with snow everywhere, and the great El Nath metropolis.

“Why aren’t they coming? We’ve been waiting here for hours!” Zanna complained.

“Quiet for a min please, they should be coming about. . . now,” Brandon said, and a dark figure with deep, dark green eyes, fell from the sky and landed in front of them.

“Why have you summoned me?!” muttered Rey in a threatening voice. He seemed to have fixed his two broken Cursayers from the last fight he had.

“Hold your horses, we’re expecting another person to come,” said Brandon.

“Damn, you guys are slow,” muttered Zanna, shivering in the cold.

It was night-time, where almost everyone was inactive, the three waited their time in the cold air. It went like a snail, and the three suffered.

El Nath, even in the towns, the temperature can drop to minus twenty degrees.

“Th-is.. better. . . .be.. worth it!!” Rey howled towards the moon.

“Re-lax, it is…”

A warrior figure with a brown mohawk walked into the narrow alley where the three was either sitting or standing.

“What do you want, Palmer,” he said, drawing his dangerous sword from it’s sheath.

“Well, I have summoned you all for a discussion,” said Brandon.

“Speak. Now,” Ben Zon said, putting his sword back into it’s case.

“Alright, here it goes.” Brandon said, breathing in deep before he talked.

“As you know, this ’employer’ of ours is very hostile and unbelievable. He will kill you off for failing just one thing!” Brandon said, grimacing.

“Because the losers deserve it,” Ben said, growling.

“Well, do you have any unfinished buisnesses or anything? Like your parents were killed and you want to avenge that killer? Because I think we need to finish our buisness first before we do dirty-work for other people,” he said.

“That’s true,” said Rey.

“My parents were killed in a raid, therefore, I do not want to avenge anyone. I do my job, and get money for it,” Ben said, annoyed.

“But is there anything you want to do?” asked Brandon.

“. . . . No. I don’t think so,” said Ben.

“Zanna, Snipe, you with me?” said Brandon, looking towards the two.

“Yeah, like I said, I got nothing else better to do.” Zanna said, smiling.

“Hell yeah!” screamed Rey. “I remember exactly those bastards who killed my daddy! I have photographic memory!” he added, smiling as well.

“You know Ben, we’re going to hunt for treasure too. If we find a really big one, then we can all live without money problems for the rest of our lives.” said Brandon.

Ben’s head turned around.

“Treasure?! I never thouhgt of that!” he said. “I’m in! Wow, come to think of it, there are still alot of unfound treasures in this world!” he added.

“Alright!” said Brandon, raising his fist into the air. “We’re going to find treasure, and stuff.” he added.

“Oh, and by the way, do you like killing all those people?” Brandon asked to all.

“No, we just do it for the money,” they all said, but at different times.

“Let me ask you one thing, Palmer,” said Ben.

“Yeah?”

“Looks like your parents were murdered brutally. How can you be still calm and relaxed?” asked Ben.

“. . . .I don’t know. Please don’t say that. I’m not so happy at all,” said Brandon, grimacing.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” said Ben.

“Hehe, treasure?” came a eeire voice from nowhere.

“WHO’S THERE!” screamed, all, and pulled out their weapons.

“Relax Palmer boy, it’s me,” said Dark Draconis, and came out of the shadows.

“Count me in, I want the share of that treasure,” he said.

“We don’t know the exact locations or anything. I just said we’re going to look for it,” Brandon said, annoyed at this man appearing out of nowhere.

“Well, you guys are pros at doing things like this,” said Dark.

“Palmer, who is this guy?” asked Ben.

“Dark Draconis, the ninja master of Rogue. I met him before, when we were chasing that poor duck lover and Ron Smith. Those two clever bastards led us into a middle of a war. Angels!” said Brandon, annoyed.

“I help take down one of them,” said Dark, grinning.

“How do you know about the A.N.G.E.L. Units?” asked Ben, surprised.

“I read history books, and attacks come out in almost every news. The Angels have been active, and the media couldn’t tell the civilians they’re just terrorists,” said Palmer.

“Heh, and everyone thought it was just a fairy tale from 2000 years ago.. Now they’re forced to believe it,” said Ben, but not smiling.

“The world is in danger,” said Brandon Palmer.

Septmber 15th, Year 2014.

“You know, searching for this ‘Star Topaz’ will be real hard.” said Eden Adun, a lazy and weird smile was on his face, almost always.

“Of course, but if we don’t do it, then the world will be at risk. Also, you guys are advanced superhumans, and I am a highly trained authority,” said Cobalt, packing some things for the trip.

“Oh, and we’ll get some reinforcements,” added Cobalt. “Don’t worry, he’s perfectly good and sane.” said Wringer, smiling.

Eden Adun’s face twitched at these words. If they had reinforcements, it would be hard to run away after they had found it.

“He’s probably in El Nath, I’ll call him right now,” said Co, pulling out a cellphone from his pack.

“Ring.. ring ring..”

“Hey, Maldran, nice to see you again. You see, we’re trying to find something here, and I need your help,” said Co.

“Fine, I’ll help you, but the travelling companion I have is an Seraphim! Also, I have two more people with me,” said Maldran.

“Ha-ha, I have two with me. Anyways, the more the merrier. We’re searching for the Star Topaz,” said Co.

“Isn’t that the weapon the El Nathians used to drive off the communists?” asked Maldran.

“Yeah, but it’s locked away right now and everyone forgot it’s whereabouts. But I have a bad feeling that someone’s going to find it, so I’m trying to find it and destroy it,” said Co.

“Alright, fine, here we come!” said Maldran, and his cellphone went off.

“Err.. where are we?” muttered Ron, barely making any sound. He got up. He was lying on a bed, and Ryan and Quin was sleeping beside him. About 10 metres away, there was a man sitting on a chair, typing away at a computer. The room they were in was high-tech and had ‘cool stuff’ in it.

“Welcome to the Wizet HQ,” the man turned around, and greeted them.

“Uhh, hi, but how and why did you bring us here?” said Ron, waking the others up.

“Where are we?” said Quin and Ryan in unison. The looked into the ceiling. It was sky blue, and it seemed like it had no zenith.

“Wizet HQ, I think,” said Ron.

“More coffee, Zodian?” a female dressed in white clothes and a WIZET hat stepped inside, carrying a tray of bread and coffee.

“Morgan, the witnesses are awake.” said Zodian, and the two stopped what they were doing and stared directly into the three.

“Hello, Ron Smith, Quin Chan and Ryan Snap,” said Zodian.

“The reason that we brought you here is because we want to find out who your boss was. You know, the one that hired you to kill the girl in the tower?” said Morgan.

The two were surprised. They were shocked because this strange person knew what they did that night.

“Uhh.. we’re in great trouble are we?” said Ron, looking nervously at the two authorities.

“Not exactly-” said Morgan.

“If you tell us-” said Zodian

“Who your boss was,” said Morgan.

“Then you are in no problem,” said Zodian.

“Because you didn’t kill her,” finally, the two finished the sentance.

“Well, we don’t know. We only hear his voice. He wears a dark robe and cloak, hiding his body and face. He sits behind a chair too,” said Quin.

“Do you know his name then?” said Zodian.

“No, he just phones us to come to where he is, and tell us what to do,” said Quin.

“Do you know where his lair is?” asked Morgan.

“No idea, when we enter and leave, we black out, the next thing we see, this the boss’ chair, or where I live,” said Quin.

“Damnit, Morgan, these guys are useless,” said Zodian.

“Yeah. We can’t do anything about those Controllers and Angels at this rate,” she said.

“What are Angels? I heard about them before, but I don’t know what they are. Can you tell me?” asked Ron.

“Well, it is believed that if you pull someone over their limits, it is believed either they die, or turn extremely powerful. There are also a race called the Controllers. They have great influence amongst the people, and these Controllers made and controlled Angels and had a war,” said Zodian.

“The last Angel war was 2000 years ago. We have tried countless times to create these ‘Angels’, but we failed, as always. It is believed only a Controller can make these Angels, but I don’t believe that,” said Morgan.

“A.N.G.E.L. stands for something in Ancient Ruins, but I forgot what they were. Too confusing. But I know it means, ‘Adept Immortal Unbeatable Tool of War’, or something. But we just call them Seraphs now. These Seraphs were so powerful, that they could kill a thousand people with one strike. They had destroyed countries, cities and towns for many generations,” said Zodian.

“An Angel is like a 5th job Advancement, except there are no such thing. An Angel is something like this. If you trained a thousand years, you still wouldn’t be strong as a Seraph. Only some chosen people, can bear the ‘Seraph Serial Experiments’,” said Morgan.

“That is why we have developed an experiment of our own, to counter these Seraphs everytime they came. We invented a new race, specially designed to fight off Seraphs. But still, this isn’t enough. If we just kill the Controller, then we can end the war. We believe your boss is a Controller, so thats why we need to know where your previous employer is, what name he has, and all the other stuff,” said Zodian.

“Can you tell me, how exactly powerful are these Seraphs? I can’t see in words,” asked Ron.

“Well, it’s something like this,” Zodian said, and when he reached the television, the three finally found out there was a television in the room. The room was amazingly big, and had many high-tech, futuristic devices.

Zodian pulled out a Blue Ray Disk from somewhere, and inserted it into the Player.

“Here it goes… you’ll be surprised.”

To be Continued…

I made a collage of all the people in the story, about 7/10 were included, I’m currently finishing it.
