Mercenary’s Legacy; Chapter 2

Mercenary’s Legacy

Chapter 2, Dark Knight

“I’ve been watching this fight, and it’s very interesting. Ramiel Maze you fake hero, killing innocent people accusing them of devilry!” Cobalt Wringer screamed, as he let go of Lucida Vite.

Ramiel was shocked to hear this. “Who are you? Ah. I recognize that look. You’re one of those guys called Game Masters. Idol of humans, well, too bad, because I ain’t human, so you can’t ban me! If you want me to die, then you have to do it with your skill!” Ramiel screamed, and the two warriors charged at each other with shocking speed and strength.

Ramiel jumped on top of a streetlight. “Stop bothering me, Wringer. I haven’t done anything to you! Why do you care?!” Ramiel complained.

“You sicken me Maze, and the Game Masters are supposed to rid of the corruptness of Maple! Now die!” Cobalt Wringer said, and slashed the streetlight in half, with his powers. Ramiel jumped off, and landed on the ground.

“You Game Masters are corrupt as well. Everyone is corrupt in some way. You are no better than me, Wringer.” Ramiel replied, mocking Cobalt.

“We’ll see about that. I am different. You’ll see how I’m different when I have you by the neck, dripping blood!” Cobalt screamed, and ran at Ramiel again.

The two began their combat, they were both like lightning, almost impossible for the human eye to see. Ramiel sometimes used Sanctuary, but Cobalt dodged them all, moving throughout the air like a bullet.

“What are you.. your combat arts are much different from a GM’s…” Ramiel said, panting.

“Heh, I’m a dual blade master, a class I inheritted from someone. As you can see, I’m much stronger than you, A.N.G.E.L. now surrender, then I’ll let you live. Who sent you? What is your origin?” Cobalt asked, trying to get information from Ramiel.

“You, stroner than me? You GM’s are not much better than humans, A.N.G.E.L.s were made for fightning, but GM’s were not. I’ll reveal my full power, prepare to rest in peace. I won’t tell you no more.” Ramiel said.

Lightning from the heavens struck Ramiel’s hammer, making it glow purply. Then from his hands, a grey white aura swirled his mace, making it divine and all mighty. Ramiel’s grip on his weapon tightened, as he forced all his mana in there. The hammer was giving off multi-color glow, and it was evident that it was much more powerful than before.

Cobalt drew his two long swords, both pointing at Ramiel’s neck.

“You think you can defeat me with just a shiny hammer? I finished the GM academy in 2 years!” Cobalt bragged.

“If you are familiar with NEXON and WIZET, then you would know all about A.N.G.E.L. Units. If you were smart enough, then you would run away right now, leaving the girl behind.” Ramiel said, a devilish grin forming on his mouth. A multi-color glow was in his eyes, and he casted two more spells, and fire and ice combined with his weapon. The snow around them had melted, and Ramiel looked powerful and scary as ever.

“It is my duty to protect the innocent. Now let’s see how your weapon compares to mine.” Cobalt said, and the two began fightning again.

Ramiel jumped, spinned one time in the air, and smashed Cobalt below.

“It doesn’t matter if you can one hit me with your hammer, because you can’t even touch me!” Cobalt mocked, then two slash marks appeared on Ramiel’s back. Cobalt’s two blades had cut through his tough armor.

He flinched, his eyes filled with anger. The fihgt continued, and Ramiel’s accuracy became more deadly, and then his hammer flew straight for Cobalt. He had no time to dodge, he had to block the blow…

His two swords formed an ‘X’, and the next thing he knew, he was pinned to a wall, but his body was safe. His eyes became blurry and he was tired. He wanted to sleep, the one blow made him tired. But he had to fight on… he closed his eyes.

“Just for a second..” he sweetly whispered to himself.

“Here! Heal! Please live, oh my god..” when Cobalt opened his eyes, he saw Lucida healing his wounds. He hadn’t blocked the attack. He was fully hit by it. His ribs were shattered like glass, damaging his organs. Lucida quickly mended it, and shot a Angel Ray at Ramiel. It dissolved into nothing, as it approached the mighty hammer.

“Clerics aren’t supposed to fight. Wringer.. you shouldn’t have made me activate my full power.” said Ramiel, his voice amplified and enigmatic.

Cobalt stood up, he saw the whole area in ruins. That one blow had made him fall, and destroyed a dozen buildings.

“I must fight on.. for the sake of justice..” Cobalt weakly muttered under the cold wind. Ramiel slowly approached him, his hammer up and ready to kill.

“SANCTUA-” Ramiel pasued. He noticed two sharp Daiwa swords stuck on his back. A ninja master, in red had done it. He was standing on Ramiel’s shoulders, grinning.

“That’s what you get for hitting me earlier.”

It was Dark Draconis. He had woken up and avenged Ramiel. Ramiel fell on the ground, panic strucken. It began to snow again, the white ice crystals fell from the heavens, covering all the damage with it’s cold comfort.

“Who are you?!” Cobalt looked at the rescuer.

“I’m Dark Draconis, the ninja master or rogue. This bastard hit me eariler and I hit him back! Ha!” Dark cackled, laughing at the fallen body of Ramiel.

“I appreciate this, but he is still alive, stand back! He’s very powerful!” Cobalt screamed, getting ready for another round.

Dark did what he was told. A few seconds later, Ramiel got up, swining his hammer everywhere.

“Argh! He screamed, and pulled out the 2 swords stuck on his back. He threw it to the randomness, and Dark caught it.

Ramiel was good looking, his armor and weapon both powerful and magnificiant. But he was corrupt and evil inside.

“A.N.G.E.L. Units are almost immortal, we don’t die so easily. Now face my wrath!” screamed Ramiel Maze and swung his hammer around in fury. He missed the two quick figures, but even the misses made bruises and hurt them.

“What the Hell is an A.N.G.E.L. Unit? How is he hurting us? He missed us in every blow!” Dark asked Cobalt, demanding an answer.

“I can’t explain now, but he’s damn powerful! Get ready! Just don’t die!” Cobalt replied back, dodging another powerful blow.

Ramiel ran at the two, they ran away. They ran around the city, Ramiel causing destruction and malice everywhere. Soon, the two were cornered, no way out.

“Now I got ya, die! SANCTUARY!” Ramiel screamed, and a mighty hammer fell on the two, or almost.

“SACRIFICE!” the figure behind him screamed.

A giant Halberd glowing blood red was stuck on him, ripping his shoulder and it reached his stomache area. The halberd smashed his bones, and ripped him almost in half. Ramiel fell on the floor, but still breathing.

It was Adunite Tribute. Lucida had revived him, during their run. His red right eye glowed in the darkness, and he pulled out his Halberd from Ramiel.

“Thanks for holding him until I came back.” Adun said, smiling.

Ramiel quickly ran away, or more like limping. He quickly opened up a scroll, and disapeared. “I’ll get you next time!” he screamed, as he disapeared with the scroll.

“Damn! He got away!” Cobalt shouted, annoyed.

“Heh, thanks for saving us. I’m going to be off now, I’m looking for someone.” then Dark disapeared, into the night.

The battle began in the morning, but it ended at sunfall. In the darkness, Adun looked almost.. evil. His right eye was glowing, his left eye blacker than all the black in the world. His dark silvery suit glowed in the falling sun. His halberd was dripping blood, and his spear silent.

After a moment of silence, Lucida spoke.

“C’mon, lets go to a safe place; my bakery! We might get ambushed again by someone else!” Lucida said, and she started running. The others followed.

“The fugitives were smart. They lead us into a trap..” Brandon said, putting one hand to his face.

“What do we do now?” Zanna asked.

“If we go to the boss now, we die. Let’s go finsih our mission, I guess the fight is over now.” said Brandon, looking at the evergreen trees and the white snow, knowing that the snow might be red, with their blood if they didn’t finish their assignment.

“Lets go.”

Artemis stood on the footsteps of a mountain with Maldran and Arthur. The mountain was high, white with snow. It was magnificiant. A life Artemis always wanted, a free life.

“Identify yourselves. Are you Artemis, Maldran and Arthur saber?” a voice came from the back. The three turned around, and saw a slim young female figure, and a middle aged bandit with many dangerous weapons.

“We say again; are you Arthur Saber, Artemis Platia and Maldran Arcturi?” the male figure said this time.

“Yeah we are.” said Artemis, not knowing the danger she was in.

“Argh! Why did you reveal us? They might be dangerous mercenaries!” Maldran said, angry.

“That’s exactly what we are.” said the girl, a evil smile forming on her young face.

Ron, Quin and Ryan was walking on the outskirts of a evergreen El Nath forest.

“Damn! We’re so clever. We got away so many times! Ha!” Ron said, letting his guard down. For hoursw and hours, they were worried if the pursuers got them again.

“Yup, we’re too smart for them.” Ryan said, slowing his pace.

“I have to admit, we were pretty smart there.” Quin said, smiling once for a long time.

“So, am I coming with you now?” Ryan asked, he wanted to be with his new friends. He never had a friend in his life before. He learned from his master, Dark Draconis, for 12 years.

“Sure, why not. You are pretty good help.” Quin replied.

“So, where are we going?” Ryan asked.

“Orbis, or stay in a remote town in El Nath. Quin can forge a fake passport and ID for us, we can live in peace and start a new life.” Ron said, excited at the idea.

“You two can go, you’re going to die.” a voice came from the trees. A man stepped out of it and grabbed Ryan by the neck.

“You traitor!”

The figures were inside a warm, safe and well built bakery. It was Lucida’s. Smells of well cooked pastry smelled everywhere, and baking tools, chairs, desks were in sight as well.

“This is my bakery. I built it about 6 months ago, when I escaped from S.T.a.R.” Lucida said, sitting down.

“Let me ask you a question, Lucida. How and why are you attacked by Maze?”

“. . . I was going outside, then out of nowhere, he came and ambushed me. Somehow he knew I was another A.N.G.E.L., and tried to kill me. Soon, people came to watch, and they supported him, for some reason.”

“Then he must have some support from WIZET or NEXON. Damn it, if those two have control over an A.N.G.E.L., then world domination is clear to see.” Cobalt said, shaking his head.

“What is an A.N.G.E.L.?” Adun was listening, and he was confused.

“A.N.G.E.L. … I forgot what it stands for, but it means a tool of war. It’s a extremely powerful race that was pushed too far, a test subject. There were dozen A.N.G.E.L. experiments by WIZET and NEXON, but they both failed badly. It’s a good thing, because they would use Angels for bad uses. A long time ago, Angels were made by a powerful influensive race called the Controllers. They had extreme power, and had a great influence over the people. They believe that the controllers are dead now, but how was an Angel made? That’s the question. It’s said that an Angel Unit can be only made by a Controller. If Wizet or Nexon completes an Angel unit, then the world is in much danger. El Nath, Orbis; the fortified cities will crumble into dust.” Cobalt explained.

“Lucida. Are you an Angel?” Cobalt asked.

“….. . . . . Yes I am. But I want to help the people, not destroy them.” she said, her face was blank.

“My job.. wait, I don’t have a job anymore. Haha. I left the Wizet. It’s too corrupt. But I want to make sure that no Angels fall into wrong hands.” Cobalt said, smiling.

“Angels are like ultimate mercenaries. They demand extreme payment if hired by a mortal. Controllers controlled them by extremely hard magic, but that was real hard too. I wonder who Ramiel works for.” Cobalt asid again, his face worried.

“Well, I don’t know really much about Angels. I don’t know how they were made, but I know they were made by experiemnting. Also, there are other people called P.A.W.N.s. They are humans reached above human level, making them another species. They will live forever in time, but they can be killed by swords and spears. They are powerful, but lesser than the Angels.” Cobalt explained.

“Wait, Ramiel said this to me; ‘Where is the other Angel!?’ he said.” Lucida said.

“What?! Ramiel was looking for two Angel Units? That means..” Cobalt paused.

They both looked at Adun. He was acting suspicious from the moment they met him. He was blind, and could feel honesty in people’s words. He was also extremely skilled and powerful. He took down Ramiel in one strike.

“You are the other Angel! I bet a million mesos on that! It says that if circumstances like these happen, then it’s called the Angel Wars. If there is a controller out there, there must be more. If there are three Angels, there must be more. 12 in fact, 12 dangerous tools to destroy the planet.” Cobalt said, somewhat sarcastic.
