Winners & Losers Pt 10

I’m really sorry that I have to repost this cause some idiot called verbose aka klc130794 used his 2 accounts to boost my story. (if you recognise by his previous deleted blogs he’s also my dumb guild leader) Anyway I’m gonna repost this and hope that Captain gets rid of these losers soon.

WINNERS & LOSERS PT 10

Dave

Everyday I survived was just another torture to me. From the dawn of the early morning to the silence of the late night, I was beaten and treated callously. Retribution was what they all told me.

By now I was weak and starving. I had been robbed of all my confidence and sanity; all left was a neglected soul, abandoned in an arid eternity of desolateness.

Ever since my imprisonment I always kept a small faith that somebody would notice my disappearance. However now that I was no longer in the public, showing off my superior abilities and, well, doing other things, the idea that nobody cared about me anymore struck like a shotgun. It was not a hallucination of my desperate condition. It was more of a reality.

Yet I still relentlessly prayed that someday liberty would once again be mine. Someday.

April

The black charm was beautiful; its orb filled with mysteriousness glowing in orbital. Bedazzled by my newly acquired item, I nearly missed the ship.

“Lady you goin’ to Ossyria or you campin’ here tonight?” The ship captain called out from a distance.

I jolted out from my daze, flashed my ticket and hurried aboard the boat. The mere thought of having the power to turn monsters to snails or opening mystical doors that were able to tap into ethereal realms were enough to make me gleam in glee.

I scanned the cabin to get a rough view of the interior facilities. Well for a start there was nothing but old wooden walls 5 metres apart and a heavily vandalised bench, primly targeted by those noobs who really had nothing better to waste their lives on.

Then with a huge groan, the ship lifted herself off the docks and flew into the endless azure skies. My mind shifted off from reality once again. Oh how I missed Jake! His smiles gave me a hidden satisfaction though I never physically expressed it.

Half a ride passed in boredom before I was approached by an assassin, an intimidating casters gripped in his hands. Finished with a scarred face and fierce eyes, they contributed up to the perfect factor of fear.

“Hey,” He started, only to be put off by me.

He gritted his teeth and tried again. “Jake sent me.” He barred his hands, revealing the signature Black Death tattoo. I guessed that alone was enough to put people on guard, no need for his imposing facial features.

“So Jake IS the leader huh?” I inquired.

“Heh it took you long enough to find out. Jake is not fit to rule our society. He was perfect in his first few days. But after that fool set his goal on you again, he’s changed. Too much mercy, I’d reckon.” He punched the wall in anger. Taking a calm breath, he continued. “Jake still loves you, and that alone means our impending doom.”

I always thought the practices of Black Death as barbaric, but I never perceived them to be so ridiculous. That was the last straw; I would have to convince Jake to quit sooner or later.

“So do you want to strike a deal?” The Black Death member continued, that ever vile smirk not leaving his face. “I have a plan in mind. You trap him as bait and I execute it. We meet at the holy grounds in El Nath tomorrow. I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

He swiftly held a steely near my neck, the jagged edges nearly cutting my skin. Then, in another second, he faded under the illuminated light from the lamp.

He was gone, and so was my good spirit. It was a hard choice to make; I could either threaten my life or what was dearest to me.

In a trance of despair, I heard the ringing of the ship bells. We had arrived in Ossyria balrog-free. Those stupid creatures probably got lost on the way. I tried to laugh myself out of my worry from that dumb joke, but it would certainly take more than that.

I was torn between my choices. The first thing I knew I would have to do was to finish my test anyways.

EL NATH

Imagine a white landscape in the background and snow drifting down from the sky slowly, hitting the snow piled grounds with a soft thud. To me this symbolised peace and grace, but however fun snow was it was neutralised by my fear.

With my snowshoes squeaking form my threads in the snow now and then, I made my way past all the jr yetis, pepes and pangs. None of them mattered to me at the moment. After all they would not aggravate the situation if I left them alone.

Through the distant fog I saw another person. He seemed to be awaiting my presence. As I approached him shades slowly emerged from the mists behind, revealing a large temple made of ice.

“Just as I anticipated,” The person crisped slyly. “You chose to come.”

From his hand protruded a familiar sight; the deadly casters of his. The hermit, however, was clad in a black robe this time. Extricate crimson patterns followed his cloak down to his feet, forming the notorious Black Death emblem.

“Just what exactly are you planning to do!” I glared at him fiercely.

“Let’s not be so rash shall we? The surprise has yet to come!” The hermit disappeared into the shadows and reappeared behind me, his grim hand clasped tightly on my shoulder. “I promise you’ll enjoy the show!” A merciless cold laugh followed his words.

The hermit then gestured for me to follow him. Reaching into his bag he pulled out a dark crystal and tossed it to me. I caught it with ease.

My hands squeezed the jewel with all their strength. I wished it was his neck that was in my grasp instead. We entered the temple and traced an arch path, walking past hoards of glittering ice shards with peculiar carvings on them. Finally we reached a huge black rock planted in a garden located in the centre of the sanctuary. I braced myself.

At once my dark charm and crystal began glowing faintly. Plasma drifted above them for a moment and was sucked into the rock. Then, the rock released a black energy which enveloped me. One second I was standing in the temple with the loathsome hermit beside me and the next I was no longer in my body; just a spirit in another dimension. From afar, a voice seemed to be calling out to me faintly.

I awoke to the sound of people scurrying about. Many chief bandits and hermits were rushing around the headquarters in hurries. I was puzzled and questioned my jail guard.

“Why should I tell you?” He snapped at my enquiry. The guard was busy searching for his dragon tail frantically, excitement spelt all over his face. I sighed and settled down on the dirty stone ground. Then I saw it.

The vitality to my escape was sitting right in front of me; a silver key sitting vulnerably in the pockets of the jail guard. At the moment he had his back on me. If only I could grab the key. . .

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After trails of searching, the jail guard finally found his dagger waiting in the darkness below his own table. Cursing himself for his own carelessness, he walked over to pick up the curved blade. He spun around in delight and got ready to leave. And then-
WHAM!
My fist connected with his jaw beautifully. The jail guard slumped on the floor unconscious. I hastily clambered into my commodore armour and held up my devil’s sunrise proudly. The power I used to harness was once again mine. I was finally free!
PS: I’d like to thank Rasengan for helping me out with this chapter. Without him finding a picture of the holystone for me I’d be stuck at this part for who knows how long!
