What is happening to FlyFF?

I’m not going to start this blog title with a Devvy or joke around because I am unhappy. Very unhappy.
What is happening to the society of this game I love called Fly for Fun?

When I first played it only a mere three months ago everyone was so nice. In fact I was impressed as comparing the attitudes and maturity of the other users around me, it was so much more pleasant than MapleSEA. But now, I might have to change that perspective.

Just moments ago I was training at Small Steel Knights on my assist, although with much difficulty as their damage was heavily vexing, considering our level differences being five. Then came along an FS assist who requested for a power level by inviting me to his party. I desperately needed some form of healing and immediately granted it. By little did I know how vile that seemingly innocent guy could be.

We started off well, with me slaving away in the front and him keeping my health bar full by occasional heals. Then it began. As the very first Small Steel Knight I slain fell to the ground leaving behind a knightier, I noticed that he received the treasure chest drop when I picked it up. Curious I opened my party window and discovered the drop distribution was set to manual. It was previously individual but he suddenly changed it for no reason.

I politely asked him to change it back and he reluctantly did. Most power levellers never took their drops, but I was more conservative than that. I also requested for him to return me the knightier, but he stubbornly denied taking it without consenting to check his inventory. I remained suspicious but let it go as I wanted the healing.

It continued multiple times with him just changing the drop distribution to manual and claiming he did not. By now I was getting irritated as he had already looted five sixth refreshers, which I had been saving for my acrobat, five hot dogs, two knightiers and a level 50+ hat. I even left my party window open all the time to confirm if he had switched the drop distributions or not.

As I battered another Small Steel Knight and sent it to the ground, I noticed the drop distribution changing to manual as it relinquished another knightier. I hesitated to pick up the treasure chest as I knew that it would go to him. Then that ingrate just ran over and ‘fetched’ it for me.

This was my last straw and I confronted him about this problem. I explained to him clearly how power levellers should get the drops, regardless of who the leader of the party was. I told him about social etiquette and why he was showing me disrespect by looting my items.

And as if to bluntly shove my reasonings away he just snapped that he needed the knightier and demanded me to continue killing the Small Steel Knights. I was not enraged, but astonished. Where was his sense of humanity? This argument did not end as I persistently requested for the knightier back. It didn’t mean that much to me that I would not lay at ease until I got it, but I wanted to test if he had even the least bit of compassion. I mean, it was not like he was beseeching or imploring me. He was very firm with his decision and always dismissed what I said rudely, ordering me to fight as he did.

By now I was pissed off. I then quit the party and told him that he failed as a leecher, which I never thought was possible in retrospect.

You guys may tell me that it so only a knightier. So what if I lost it? It wasn’t life and death or anything. I could also quit the party and reinvite him to mine to solve that problem. But look at it from my point of view. Would you want to help someone with such a selfish attitude and mentality? Even if it might benefit me more, the sheer idea of doing someone so immoral a favour disgusts me. I would have never even accepted the party offer in the first place if I knew of this impending situation.

Don’t get me wrong. I love to power level others. Silver if you got your magician to 31, which I believe you already have, I wouldn’t mind training you, which could pull her up to the next level in a matter of minutes. But with that kind of ingrate, I’ll pass. I completely condemn it.

All you FlyFFers out there, how would you feel if you were mistreated AS THE POWER LEVELLER AND NOT THE POWER LEVELLEE? I’d further joke about that but I’m not in the mood and rephrasing that would make it too long winded. Anyway, power levellers have the right to impose unfair judgements but since when did leechers have the right to even go against the choices of the power levellers? That person disgraces this game.

My encounter with him has now tainted my impression of Fly for Fun indefinitely. I will never awe it as I had before. Was it always putting up a facade, now rearing its ugly head only after I’ve so painstakingly levelled my character to 50? Why is my passion mutating into a world similar to Maple Story, where selfishness holds the sovereignty?

What is happening to FlyFF?

PS: The name of that guy is Gabyto. FlyFFers beware.

  1. Look I’m very displeased at the moment and I am very prone to flaming.
Please do not say something irrelevant or agitate me in any way.

  2. Ugh, I hate people like that. You offered him a service and either you should get half the drops or paid in penya for plvling him. I don’t agree that if you’re plvling an assist that you should get all the drops. It’s poor work being an assist D: . . . but other classes can survive without getting drops.

My worst plvling experience was having someone (from my own guild! whom I’ve since kicked for other reasons) yelling at me to “gogogo! kill faster!” and just looting everything.

And I agree about the community. Everyone used to be so nice and helpful, and it really was fun to play the game. But now people are so rude and it sucks. Next time you come across someone like that, quit the party, don’t let them push you around like that.

    Sorry.

Oh I’m sorry if I didn’t inform you because I thought everyone playing FlyFF already knew but I am an assist myself. Yes I can self buff, and it so happens that my buffs outweigh his by a lot. So his only task is to heal me.

I don’t want to argue and I did not fully explain my case, but normal power levellers charge penya. They do not charge assists because the buffs can almost double their killing speed. Power levellers pay with fast experience and not drops.

But in my case I don’t even need his buffs. In fact, with him looting me, I’d still gain more financial profits spamming food. So with no advantages whatsoever, why should I still agree to give him the drops?

  5. Assist is a bit like clerics .

    They get discriminated D<

    Cleric/Assist PRIDE ^__^

You should have left the party when he stole your items .

Or said ‘I’m so proud of you! You learnt to be a looter! *Googly eyes*’

    *Radiates sarcasm*

You do have an advantage, Devvyness .

    People love you :/

You can have a muffinmallow .

And you better like my halloween costume or ELSE >D

*Appears in a giant pumpkin suit*

  6. Wha-?
*Is completely clueless about the love thing* *Mutters something about wishing his crush loves him*

Hm I’ll continue ranting using Maple Story for the convenience of you all, although it doesn’t relate to your case in any way.
If in Maple power levelling is possible, would it be sensible for a stronger priest to help power level a weaker priest even if the former one has a stronger HS compared to the latter one? Doesn’t make sense right? If they are gonna train with heal the latter priest healing the former one is completely obsolete.

And about the Halloween thing, are you telling me that you’d show me your costume if I didn’t like it and not if I did? o.O

  7. Since the Halloween costume is more important, I’ll speak of it first >D

Muffinmallows are more important, though =/

    The muffinmallow is equivalent to a coathanger plus a tub of chocolate embedded in a lump of lodestone which is attracting all sorts of butterfly that taste of radioactive cabbages that eat earthlings. Kill everyone on the world and leap off the boat into a bathtub of hungry giaraffes in tomato soup. Open the door that read ‘DANGEROUS. DO NOT OPEN’ and eat a mouldy banana . I’ll finish this later as I have to go . DD;

  8. The world is filled with such people.

One can not escape it. Not in FlyFF, not in LyFF.

You have a point there. In that case, the guy didn’t deserve any drops, just exp.

  11. Lmao. I changed the thing to Manual a couple times in a party. I would quickly change it to Individual when people got suspicious, then change back to Manual to get muchos riches. >:I

    ~Cheezy

  12. Jesus, thank god I haven’t met one of those, all though I have bothered Rose with the buffing and I have had to shoo off Buff wanting noobs.

I feel sorry for you, but every game is in it’s own way, tainted. There will always be that annoying noob, no matter what the game.

  13. Eh, I would never know your anger, as I’m a wariror, but people use me as a tanker alot, and it pisses me off –_–;;. . . .
