Mega Chionging Spree!

I feel so refreshed after buying my 24 hour x2 experience! ‘Chiong’ is a chinese word that means ‘rush’, so literally translating the word, I was rushing to train.

Over a span of 2 days, I constantly trained my devilryfire, ignoring all the temptations of Maple Story aside from training, training and more training. Guess what the result was? Devilryfire from lvl54 to lvl58 in two days!

It started the day before yesterday at 9pm. My mother had consented allowance to me braving the whole dark night to play Maple Story for ONCE, as my final year examinations were over. I could play from 9pm till 9am, it didn’t bug her. My first idea was to purchase a 24 hour x2 experience card.

I clicked on the cash shop button and 10,000 cash sat there waiting for me to spend. I had already bought a pair of micheal wings, a sweater, a pair of jeans, and changed my hairstyle. I gleefully bought a 24 hour x2 experience card and exited the cash shop.

There it was, under my cash inventory section. A scroll-like card glowing bright yellow. My fire wizard climbed down the rope and ignited a jr yeti with my fire arrow. At the bottom of the screen was a sweet, ‘You have gained 270 experience’. I loved it.

But then I was feeling tired and knew that I could not make it through the night. Since I had bought it at 9pm, it would end 9pm the next day. In the end I trained devilryfire to lvl55 before calling it a day at 12.30am. I was overjoyed. 1 LEVEL IN 3 1/2 HOURS ONLY!!!

The next day I woke up early at 6.30am. I had a good night’s sleep and was ready to spend the rest of my Saturday training non-stop. Yeah, in my Winners and Losers story I said Jake trained like a zombie non-stop. It was something like that, but I didn’t train more 20 hours before tiring out. Jake was different. I don’t know how he does it.

I decided to try Grupins as I was already lvl55. I made my way to Orbis and went to the Garden of Green 2. I passed the Garden of Green on my way. Ah, good ol’ days! I had trained there from lvl39 to lvl42, with the damage range of my fire arrow a measly 1100 to 1800. Now my damage range was 2000 to 2900. Talk about improvement!

Then finally I was at the Garden of Green 2. Lo and behold, an empty map in channel 1! I began training immediately. Halfway I made a startling discovery. Grupins ARE cuter than jr grupins. Definitely. I liked their defiance and attitude towards me. Everytime I smashed them for 2900 damage their started launching a never-ending series of magical ice attacks. They just did not realise that fire wizards were the obvious overlords, or to make it simpler,

Fire Wizard > Defiant Grupin
Defiant Grupin < Fire Wizard

It reminds me of myself, really. In school.

That day also I levelled to 58! Remeber when I posted I was lvl50? Yeah now I’m 58 and my ugly calas days are over. Well that’s about it, aside from the fact that I went on a suicide mission to lucidas. The lucidas had the same negative attitude, just that their darkness magical attacks took 6 times the damage of what the grupins could do. I did what I should have done- stay to fight on- and died.

Well I was lvl58 at 0.03%, so who cares?

Anyway now its 11.30am on Sunday. I woke up an hour earlier. Surprisingly I still do not feel any hangover effects from x2 experience.

  1. You lucky thing, for your EOYs are over. I still have my As, and my mom promises the same to me too 😀 Funny, must be some secret weapon of Singaporean parents. ‘Eh, exam over liao then can play all you want ah!’ I’m planning to get the four hour daily 2X EXP card though, just to control my own playing. 😀

Grats on the multiple level ups! 😀

  2. Haha, my mom would NEVER let me pull an all nighter.
Well, I’m only 11 but that’s not the point!
    I hope. . .

  3. =O 58! I’m so envious. You have good motivation for training. I’m just. . .*bleh*.

Btw; it’s ‘cong’, not ‘chiong’. =D

Its ‘chiong’, if you don’t know anything about chinese words don’t criticise others pls.

  5. @xDynamicxms: Firstly, I am Chinese. I may not be a fluent speaker, but I learn it at school, and that’s the reason I have a trusty dictionary about ten centimetres wide. I’m sure that if you look under ‘cong’ you’ll find a word that means hastily/rushed. I did.

And for the record; there is no such word ‘chiong’. On the computer, if you try and type it, it will not come out as a word. In the dictionary, there is no such title as ‘chiong’.

So if YOU don’t know anything about Chinese, please don’t criticise ME.

Pwned. Plain and simple. Anyways, I envy you completely devilrymage. I want 2x exp so bad! I’d level up in 2 hours at a time (level 50 currently 81%).

  7. Yup. Ez is right. But so is devilrymage. Dynamic’s only partially correct.

Why? Reason: ‘Cong1’ is Mandarin, the one you can look up in a dictionary. ‘Chiong’ is Hokkien. Singlish, being the quaint language it is that mixes up elements from Singapore’s major languages and dialects, uses Chiong. But if you were talking to someone who doesn’t know Singlish or Hokkien, ‘Cong’ is what you use.

    Case closed.
