KSing guide

Upon my travels in Khaini, I have encountered quite a few KSers.

It’s strange- I had never understood before why other warriors always did the f5 face when they trained with my wizard.
until now.

There are many reasons people would KS.
1) They need to keep their spot on the map
2) They want to take a spot on the map
3) They do it just for the heck of it
4) They do it because they want to bother somebody
5) A friend was abused by somebody, and you KS them to avenge your friend.

There are also many retaliations:
1) stay and ignore the KSer
2) mass defame
3) report
4) KS back
5) name calling
6) change channel

The most unreasonable KSing reasons/retaliations are:
3) they do it just for the heck of it:
Never do this. It makes you look like an absolute moron. It’s also mean and coldhearted. If you don’t want to be mass defamed and cussed out for the rest of your life, don’t KS for fun. You need a reason.
4) They do it because they want to bother somebody:
Admittedly, I have used this tactic quite a bit myself, to force somebody to CC. I always found, though, that it gave me a bad feeling in my stomach afterwards.
If you can avoid doing this, good. Otherwise, KS only to kick a spawn hog/ looter/botter/ noob off the map.
5) KSing to avenge a friend:
Sure, this can seem like a good and friendly favor. But it makes the person who needs to be avenged look like a helpless newbie, who uses his friends as a crutch.
If your friend asks you to do this, use your judgement. But never call a friend to KS for you.
Unreasonable retaliations:
3) report
Totally unreasonable. The only way a GM might bend to this report would be if the person was really ‘harassing’ you. (e.g. PMing you, calling friends to ks.)
5) name calling:
Um.. how does this help again?

So, if you are ever KSed by someone else, the best choices would be:
1) KS back your spot
2) change channel
3) Try to bargain with the KSer

That concludes my solutions to KSing.

  1. It’s natural for people to bite back, most people feel they need to stand up for themselves.

  2. meh. it worked for me, sometimes.
one guy tried to ks his spot back when my warrior went to boars. i d/ced anyway :/

  3. Nice guide bro, interesting, ill call my friend to ks
EDIT: im sorry, my stupid little brother is running around spamming things.

  4. true ^^ but lol i got some good mage friends so KS isnt much of a prob for me

  5. If someone kses u, kill the monsters with ur best skills and do the most damage possible and the kser will sonn be overtaken.

  6. i dont think the while mass defaming thing works, doesnt it just make you enemies and you end up spending all your maplin time trying to dsfame these morons who arnt worth your time. maybe a calm gental “plz dont ka” is the best approche( yes i lack spelling skills i know T.T)

  7. now warriors are getting mad at mages/sins for just SEEING them, even if they dont ks

  8. Nice guide for repeling KSers, when all is said and done, KSing is all about the exp. I’ve had my share of KSers come, and I lose about 90% of the timeT_T, the only time I even remotely have a chance is if I can 1 hit kill the monster, but even that is sqashed when the lag on my comp helps them. (I dunno what this is, but even if I kill the monster before they even it hit it they get the most exp and the item if dropped. It seems that attacking the monster after someone hits it and hitting it just before it dies seems to grant you the goods.)

Also you gave good advice as to not scream at them for KSing, cuz while you are busy cussing them, they are free to kill anything that spawns.
If you have my luck when a kser is around, here is what happens:

    1. Your computer will make Maple lag as much as poosible and help the KSer KS you.
    2. You will do your absolute minimum damage as much as the game allows.
    3. All monsters that spawn will run straight toward the KSer the moment they spawn.

Overall you made a good guide, so I give you 2 thumbs up! Have fun posting etc. etc.

    hear hear

  10. dun bother bout ks-sers if ur gonna haf poison myst someday, cos dats even better den ksing. n all ks-sers wil kneel down n beg 4 ur 4gifness

  11. Interesting to hear someone’s thoughts on KSers, who are extremely annoying. I would usually back down if the person is of a higher level than me because what’s the point? Just cc and everything’s peaceful. But if the person is weaker than my char I will just continue training at the spot and ignore him/her. After a while the KSer will find that it’s not worth their time and go somewhere else.
