The Viper Strikes Next: Chapter 10

-=Unseen Darkness=-

A good seven minutes passed since the trio of Shadow Viper, Emma, and Genya defeated the butcher’s dozen. After the fight was over, each of the three took time to thank each other for their efforts in a victorious battle. Of course, their minds never left the encounter entirely, as they felt more monsters could be after them. Thus, the trio quickly set to climbing the floating landmasses as they headed towards the northeastern end of the tri-pronged junction. After much climbing, they reached their destination, which was adorned with a steel porticullis in the middle of the green path. A sign that read “to Kerning City” crowned the top of the arch. It was just in front of this landmark that the sisters knew they had to go separate ways. read more

-=No Need to Fear=-

“Bring it.”

As though they suddenly understood english, two of the butcher’s dozen leapt at Shadow. They came at him from the sides, hoping to catch him in a double attack. Unfortunately for them, the ninja bandit didn’t need two arms for these enemies; instead, he simply threw himself into a spin, holding his dagger out as he did so. The pigs were gashed by the unexpected move as they dove into the trap. However, the dagger had moved too fast to do any real damage; the pigs landed and turned around. read more

-=Attempted Explanations=-

*The hostility….I can’t believe this….why was I treated that way? Everyone else got along just fine with him….do people here really hate lost limbs that much?*

Shadow’s mind was ablaze with questions as he followed his rescuers through Lith Harbor. Fortunately for him, none of the adventurers from the crowd tried to pursue him; he was a powerful ninja bandit, but even he could still be overwhelmed by a mob that big. read more

The Viper Strikes Next: Chapter 7

-=Victoria Greets You=-

After a relatively short time of travel, the Southperry ship was docked on the westernmost edge of the largest land mass in the Maple World. Victoria Island was the primary island for adventuring, with numerous areas of all kinds, ranging from the tall, mountainous regions of the north, to the serene, mysterious forests of the south, from the dark, imposing urban areas of the west to the calm, peaceful country areas of the east. There was also much adventuring going on underground, though only the most powerful of adventurers traveled to the deepest depths, rumored to contain vile, deadly creatures. read more

-=The Red and Blue Marbles Awaken=-

Not long after everyone had borded, the Southperry ship was on it’s way, calmly surfing through the light ocean waves. The water and the sky were at their bluest, as the day itself was calm and friendly. A sparse amount of clouds dotted the sky, and the bright sun glowed warmly over the world.

Any adventures who didn’t instantly get seasick were clustered about in groups, sharing stories of their time on Maple Island, as well as the great feats they would perform upon reaching their destination, Victoria Island. Many even talked about job advancements, including one pair of adventurers that had met not long before climbing aboard the ship. read more

-=Making a New Friend=-

Southperry was, all in all, a town only a little bigger than Amhearst. It was the southernmost town on Maple Island. Unlike Amhearst, it was a port town, as it bordered the coast. Southperry didn’t have the green, grassy look Amhearst had; concrete was the foundation of this town, along with buildings made of stone. The inhabitants were somewhat similar to those from Amhearst; all were friendly and willing to help adventurers out, though a good portion were sailors who toiled by the docks all day. read more

The Viper Strikes Next: Chapter 4

-=The True Danger=-

The village of Amhearst was a grassy village. Sparsely populated, only a handful of houses and a shop or two sized up the village, along with a moderate amount of villagers living there. The village was a peaceful, easygoing place that offered rest and respite for newcoming adventurers alike. Every now and then, one of the village inhabitants would request a service to the adventurers in exchange for a reward. The most well known was usually given by a repairman who often made chairs out of old supplies that the adventurers brought. A town like this was usually rather busy despite it’s size. read more

Should the Viper keep Striking?

Greetings fellow maplers! That’s right, after nearly 2 months of hibernation, I, Tninja, have RETURNED!

Considering I’m unable to play MS right now, I thought I would never be back until I was back on the game. However, I’ve been chatting with friends tonight, and now I’ve been wondering, and I’m wondering if you’ve been wondering: should my fanfic, “The Viper Strikes Next,” continue? read more

Reinstated game hiatus

Well, I finally figured out why I’m unable to play Maple Story, or any online game for that matter.

The college I’m currently at does not allow any online gaming whatsoever, as it is believed online games will slow down the network.

Basically, I’m absolutely infuriated. The fact that this college forbids online games for this reason just makes me mad. I admit network speed is important, but come on! We have Gateways-powerful laptops 800% better than my old Nobilis! read more

The inactivity continues!

Well, I checked out Symantec as fas as an AV causing problems with Maple Story. I did both a quick and full scan; no viruses were found on either scan. Worse, I can’t really tinker with it at all since a lot of the configurations are locked in. And, of course, both MS clients are still keeping me out with the same problems, claiming I’m not online or there’s a server check going on, neither of which is true. read more
