RagWeaver

Despite 80% of my time being consumed by summer reading lately, I’ve still found time to get some gaming time in. I recently bought a new graphics card (GeForce 6200 OC) which allowed me to play many, many games I’d been denied before (MapleStory used to be my graphical limit, I couldn’t even be in Orbis with anything besides the lowest graphical setting). As a result, I’ve redownloaded two of my favorite games: Ragnarok Online and Talesweaver. read more

DDR’s Sexier Little Halfsister

Since I’ve been too lazy to level my hermit, I’ve been going back to some of my older games. This here is a perfect example. Check out the game in the first screen. It’s called Flash Flash Revolution (FFR), a computer version of DDR. Now, I’m sure you’ve heard of things like StepMania and other imitations, but FFR is completely different. First, FFR is completely browser based. For those of you who are less familiar with computer lingo, that means it’s like Runescape and loads in your browser. That means you can play anywhere: home, school, the library, etc. It even has a ton of mirrors so you can get past any type of blocking system your current location (probably school) may have set up. Also, it’s got multiplayer. Yep, multiplayer, my excuse for posting this on a MMO site. read more

The Boy Was Lucky: Chapter 43

“The city is under attack!” Orlando yelled over the blare of the siren. “Everyone stay here while we investigate!” However, Derrin and Kayla were already opening the front door as he spoke. “Hey, wait a…” he trailed off. The pair didn’t even waste a glance back before slamming the door behind them and dashing off. After a few steps, Derrin paused; they had no clue how to get back to the castle. “Need a bit of help?” Orlando asked from behind. A nod from Derrin and they were on there way. read more

Derrin’s and Kayla’s eyes widened in shock. The implications of what Orlando had said were obvious. The second Dreaded would bring unimaginable devastation to the city, something Derrin and Kayla could not let happen. Also, if it were released, the third Dreaded could also be released and on land at that. However, if they were able to confiscate the second Dreaded’s gate, none of the gates succeeding it could be released. In a few words, the siblings had created an incredibly strong incentive for Derrin and Kayla. read more

The royal children led their visitors throughout the luminous city. All the major spots were covered. Derrin and Kayla were first led to the Grand Library, an incredible structure built into a large cluster of coral followed by several museums. At noon, they dined at the Dolphin, the finest restaurant in the city. Derrin found the food amazing but felt that the assortment of hard elbows to the arm and heels to the foot from Kayla for “staring” detracted from the experience. read more

Burst: Chapter 12

Note: When you get to the ah’s, read them like one of those TV preachers who do fake healings. You’ll know what I mean.

As Ty and Julie approached the medical station, a boy suddenly stopped in front of them. “You’re. . .” he trailed off as he noticed Julie’s wound. He quickly kneeled down next to her now crouching form and examined the wound. “Excuse me for stopping you,” he said as he put a pair of gloves on. “I’m Raltz, a cleric of M1. I heard about your battle; well, I was there. Your sister, if I heard you correctly, seems to somehow have sustained quite the wound. Let me take care of this so you don’t have to go through the work of receiving attention by one of the nurses.” read more

Burst: Chapter 11

The months continued to pass and Ty’s constant growth showed no signs of letting up. Many had long ago expected Ty to challenge the number two rogue. However, for some reason, he had never shown any intention to do so. The only spot he had ever made a challenge for was the ten spot and that had little to nothing to do with the spot. Really, he hadn’t even known he would receive the spot if he had won. Most of the time, those above in him rank either challenged him because of some irritation or to relieve themselves of the constant tension that came from waiting. None of this really seemed important to Ty. As long as he was at the academy and Julie and company were cared for, he was satisfied. read more

Burst: Chapter 10

For many, that day would have broken them completely. And indeed, Ty’s pride had been severely wounded. However, Ty lacked something that was a major downfall to most: ego. The concept was completely foreign to him. Thus, while Zain’s mockery of Ty hurt the young boy, it did not destroy him. If anything, it only provided more motivation to become stronger and restore the pride he had in his name. read more

Guildless? Yes, no, wait…

Tarheel’s making a MMO-Day Blog? What the. . .

Yeah, I am. Anyways, I used to belong to this great guild in Broa called JusticeFaith. We had lots of fun and were expanding rapidly as a 70+ guild. The leader, bl4ckwid0w and llamaboy*insertrandomnumbershere*, was especially cool and we always went MMing, ZMMing, and lycanthroping together. Alas, all good things must come to and end. Some noob faked his way into becoming a Jr and deleted everyone but the Jr’s. About a buck of Nx and tons of hardwork all went down the drain. Even worse, the leader was playing less and less and the guild wasn’t becoming any more fun. I, after much thought, decided to leave. What did I do? I went Guildless! read more

Burst: Chapter 9

As the days passed, Ty grew. While his mind was absorbing what most thought of as the basic, he learned equally simple elements of fighting. Defense, countering, recovering, and attacking were now all able to be used proficiently by Ty. Socially, Ty was an enigma to the other students. He spent most of his free time outside of the campus and rarely talked with his peers. To most, the answer seemed obvious: a girl. Clearly though, this was not the case. The sister and small group of orphans remained unknown to all those around Ty. Strangely, his only friends consisted mainly of those he had defeated. These, above all others, respected the young boy. Their adoration bordered on obsession and their actions around him on worship. The only exception to this was Alex. This boy was the only person in the entire academy that treated Ty as an equal and for this, Ty valued him above all the others. Alex was the only one he said more than a few words too. Once or twice he even directed an entire sentence towards the boy. read more
