Burst: Chapter 8

Slowly, the sun peeped its head over the bottom of the window of the R1 Dormitory. Ty swatted away a ray of light to no avail and grimaced as he began to awaken. Upon rising from his bed and sitting upright, he found a few near him beginning to greet the new day as well. Almost eager to see what lay in store for him, he headed to his closet and pulled out a uniform. As he dressed, he was surprised by how soft the cloth felt. His former garments should have long ago thrown away and any new piece of clothing he received was already well worn. His attire was dominated by the characteristic pure white that the bowman had worn with silver trim throughout. He found himself looking completely different than how he imagined himself. Of course, he’d only been able to look at himself in deep puddles after a large storm. Taking one last look at himself, he grabbed his daggers and headed out the door. read more

Burst: Chapter 7

Ty finally reached building 114 and knocked half-heartedly upon the door. For a minute, no sound came from inside until finally, the door opened. Julie stood in front of him, her left hand rubbing her eyes. Suddenly she realized that her brother stood in front of her and fell upon him in a large hug. He smiled as he hugged her back, glad to see a familiar face. He was tough but certainly not invulnerable to the stress around him. read more

Ty stood up, anger shining in his eyes. “You think I’m gonna keep taking this?” he lashed out.

The boy shrugged smartly, “Don’t know. From the looks of it, I guess you’re not. I guess I’ll have to show you why you don’t belong here.” These were the words Ty had been waiting for. The boy pulled out two daggers from their sheaths on his belt and gripped them with a smile. Ty tensed, a mere five feet from the boy, and short forward. Before the boy even realized what had happened, Ty had shot past him, stolen the dagger from his left hand, and come to a stop a few yards away. Now it was Ty’s turn to smile. read more

Burst: Chapter 5

After bursting in, Jean slammed the door behind him, leaving Ty in silence as the door was apparently soundproof. “What are you thinking!?” Jean continued. “No kid his age has ever gotten into anything above R3 in the history of the rogue section of the academy!”

“I’m well aware of this. However, he has more potential than I’ve seen in a long time—” read more

Pissed Much?

Okay, so there’s a new patch. Woot, right? Level 100 and 110 items, Orbis PQ, and new server. All wonderful. We even got some more data for other places like Riprey and such. Oh, and a few other minor changes were made to the game. They’re only minor, no big, right? Wrong.

First, coolie maps can no longer be soloed because of a new platform above. Imagine every map being like the jr. yeti maps, but less straight. Essentially, I’m stuck at not-as-good-exp FoG till 77 (5 levels) when I get three minute shadow partner. Even at DT’s (my next training spot), they killed many sniping spots that made it safer and faster. Without it, I’ve read about players losing 20-30% of their exp per hour. read more

Burst: Chapter 4

The trio now stood in a large room halfway between the middle hall and the Head’s office. The outside edge of the room had wood flooring while the inside was covered in a soft, black, spongy material. It was on this black flooring that Ty and the Head faced each other. It seemed as if Ty was about to fight the Head. Ty looked at the bowman, Jean, in confusion, but after getting no visible response he returned his gaze back to the Head. read more

Burst: Chapter 3

An hour later, a disturbance came from the small entrance that Ty had used earlier. As heads turned towards the hole in the wall, a female head popped through. Confusion emanated from her hazel eyes as she made her way through and stood up. “Ty, what—”

“I’ll explain in a second, just follow me,” he said, cutting her off. He led her back through the hole and around to the back of the building where two crates sat. The siblings used this place do discuss anything they deemed inappropriate for the children. “Those two men in there are very strong,” he began. “I tried to steal a pouch of gold from them because we were so low on food, but they caught up with me somehow. Apparently, they’re from some important group and want me to join it or something. I don’t know whether it’s good or bad, really.” read more

Burst: Chapter 2

The boy continued to stand between them and the children, his stance resolute. With a sigh, the bowman placed his bow back on his back, “Vincent, please disarm and restrain this boy. I’d like to speak with him.” The warrior nodded as the boy tensed again. The boy shot forward again with similar incredible speed, his sword beginning to swing forward. Swiftly, the warrior unsheathed his sword and swung down forcefully upon the boy’s weapon as he came within range. With a resounding clash, the rusty sword broke into countless shards and the boy stumbled to the ground as he struggled to regain his balance. A strong hand picked him up by the back of his shirt and stood him up before resting on his shoulder. read more

Burst: Chapter 1

As the sun’s bottom tip touched the horizon, an incredible pair entered Heneseys. They were clothed in a pure white that glowed in the evening twilight. One was dressed lightly, with nothing more than few pieces of bleached leather covering his shirt and pants. The other bore what looked like an impossible amount of steel armor that shimmered with the slightest movement. On the first’s back was an ivory bow that looked as if it was worth a small village’s fortune. Strapped to the second’s waist was a long, curving sword, sheathed in a material that looked like bone. Most notably, an emblem consisting of an owl and rose could be seen on all of their possessions. The pair was truly a magnificent sight. read more

Hermits, Absence, and a Random Verb.

Y’all: ZOMG! You said you were back!! What happened!?

Me: My most humble apologies, I didn’t stay back for very long.

Y’all: So, what were you doing?

Me: *points to the first word of the title* Check the pic, nubs.

Yeah, that’s right, I deserted MMO to focus on one thing: getting my dexless sin to hermitdom. At level 72, I feel it’s okay to come back. I have to say grinding away all my time spent on the computer was tough. It took a ton of self-discipline to stay focused. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, I achieved it. Oh, and third job advance is a humongous pain. You spend about an hour doing meaningless tasks and defeating your class’ leader. Also, don’t screw up on the question part or you’re going to burn another 1.5mil on a Dark Crystal. Finally, I’d like to mention to things to sum up my little hermit excursion. read more
