The gunshot was deafening, the concussion reverberating agonizingly against my eardrums. Images of my life, my past, of him, all soared through my thoughts. I was paralyzed, standing there like a stone statue, helpless. I had forgotten how to breathe, the life in me was slowly being sucked away. I was in shock, completely numb. read more

~Nova~

These images, light and delicate, strident and blinding. The whiteness consumed me, devoured me whole; I could feel my body being incinerated into billions of tiny black granules of ash. The pictures were being ripped right in front of my closed eyes. A veil of white, not black, between my emerald eyes and the world. read more

~Damiver~

Felix’s body was still, quiet and unmoving as it lied over Maldran’s corpse like a blanket. The screams of anguish still reverberated off of the metal walls of the confinement, each rebound driving the metal stake further into his heart. Damiver looked up with his dark eyes, focusing intently upon the door, the threshold into the world. But that world was not what it seemed to be. The happiness and joy was just an illusion, covering up the chaotic actuality. There were no happy endings. read more

~Natalie~

She could not see, neither reality nor illusion. The blackness overwhelmed her soul, blanketing all else that moved. Her senses were numbed and only one feeling tingled her skin: coldness.

Natalie’s head had just exploded, her mind splitting into millions of infinitesimally small fragments. There were people screaming around her, but she could not distinguish any of the voices. The emerald beads of her eyes lolled around her sockets, unfocused and blurry. Heads floated overhead like indistinguishable vultures waiting for the ascent of her soul. read more

~Evangeline~

Evangeline’s hazel eyes gazed out into the infinite blue expanse. Short wisps of cloud streamed across the window, dancing in the Skyliner’s wake. The low drone of the four engines, two mounted on each side of the craft, hummed monotonously as they sailed through the air at mach 2. She shifted in her seat and looked up. read more

~Damiver~

“NO! NO NOVA! NOOOO!” His screams reverberated off of the cold metal walls of his cell, pounding him with a never ending shaking. Tears slid down from his dark eyes, dripping abundantly onto the steel floor. As the monitor flickered off, so did his connection with Nova. Damiver pounded his fists on the metal door, wanting nothing more than to tear the man apart, limb by limb. read more

The Lost Tale: Beginnings

The roar was deafening, crescendoing exponentially with each step she took. As her feet swept atop the sandy beach, tears slowly dripped down and softly landed upon the tiny white beads. The seagulls overhead cried gleefully, but could not be heard over the earsplitting screech. Natalie stumbled past a large wheel of part of the landing gears, foreign and out of place amidst nature’s broken peace. read more

The Lost Tale

Author’s Note: I just wrote this because I was inspired by something that just happened in my life. It’s just a spur of the moment thing that may or may not continue.

Tears slid down her cheeks, and she was breathing again. Her eyelids flashed open, making her pupils dilate to the sudden beam of sun. Blinking a few times, she managed to focus on the surroundings, the humid ambience making her long blonde hair cling to the sides of her head. Birds happily chirped overhead as they weaved in and out of the palm trees. A wind rustled the leaves ever so gently, as if whispering into her ears that everything would be alright. Yet Natalie lied there on her back, unable to move, stunned by the shear weight of the world pressing down upon her shoulders. read more
