Episode 112 Light, Rekindled

Lily withdraws from her hiding place behind a hedge of rocks at last, and beholds the final exchange in Ivy and Kunai’s battle. She watches as the gleaming arrow soars through the air and pierces Kunai through the heart.

A massive explosion of white light occurs at that instant. It envelops Kunai completely, swallowing him whole. Lily dives back behind her protective barrier and holds on as the wind caused by the explosion threatens to sweep her away. One thing about playing Mabinogi is that you can never find yourself short of interesting things to do. From chucking stuff into campfires to smacking bushes, Mabinogi goes into great detail about everything. One thing that I have taken a shining to, though, is taking screenshots. Sure, Nexon/devCat doesn’t even tout it as one of Mabinogi’s “fun” features, and why would they? But the ability to manipulate the camera angle combined with the game’s great focus on detail makes for a wonderful situation for the pic-happy enthusiast. read more

Tears begin to steam down Ivy’s cheeks. “Because I love you, Kunai, I shall defeat you here and now!” She forms another Holy Arrow in her hands, and points it at Kunai’s heart.

In the blink of an eye, Kunai disappears from view, reappearing right next to Ivy. He swings his sword, intending to knock Ivy unconscious. However, Ivy stays one step ahead of him, teleporting behind his back and letting the tip of her Holy Arrow come to a rest on his back. read more

Ryuu lays meekly on the devastated battleground, as Ivy bathes him in a cool green light. His wounds slowly repair themselves, sealed with Ivy’s magical healing power. Yet, the scars remain, and his blood-soaked clothes remain damp, a grim reminder of his battle with Kunai.

“Kunai…Kunai did this?” Ivy murmurs behind a veil of tears in her eyes. She sniffs slightly, fighting to hold back the tears. Instead, a single drop runs down her cheek and falls gently onto Ryuu’s chest. read more

The heat from the direct attack spreads through Ryuu like shattering glass. He soars through the air for one graceful moment, and crashes into a crumpled heap on the floor the next. Lightning tears the midnight sky to pieces; thunder roars with a mad sickness. The haze caused by the explosion disperses like a ripple in a pond. All else remains gripped in silence.
