Episode 26 Over Onion Soup!
“We’re on a downhill slope now…” Kunai mutters as the four of them, Kunai, Ryuu, Arai, and Ivy approach a slight downhill descent on the path before them.
Arai glances around, narrowing his eyes and peering forward into the semi-gloom. “It looks like the ground just up ahead flattens out and becomes a small plateau. It also looks like…there’s a house on that plateau!”
Episode 25 Snowy Fields
Arai grins as he leads the way up a long, narrow, rocky path winding upwards along the edge of a huge mountain, towering high above the El Nath valley. Above them are many clouds, gray with snow, and before them are the beginnings of a large, deep-cut valley, shrouded in darkness between the roots of two very large mountains.
“Stop prancing around like an idiot, this isn’t a field trip, you know,” Ryuu mutters irritably as Arai chews on a chocolate chip cookie.
Episode 23 A Battle of Epic Proportions!
Out in the quiet sea, Kunai, Ryuu, Arai, Ivy, and Alcaster slowly make their way through the now slowly drifting currents, swimming through hordes of colorful schools of small fishes.
Kunai quickly glances backwards at the dome of Sanctum. His eyes widen suddenly as he notices that Ivy is straying off. He hurriedly signals for Ryuu and Arai to stop. Kunai then swims lower to Ivy, coming to her side.
Episode 24 Eyes That See Light, Or Eyes That See Dark?
Alcaster gingerly sits down on a wooden chair behind a wooden table cramped in the small space between two shelves loaded with volumes of books. Outside, the sound of the windmill swinging in the light breeze can be heard.
Kunai nervously takes a seat next to Alcaster, as Ryuu and Arai stand and watch nearby. Behind them, Ivy is outside playing in the snow.
Episode 22 Escape from Sanctum!
Arai leads the way, blowing his way past the sliding doors of an elevator, jamming the buttons inside it as Kunai and Ivy hurry inside.
Arai clenches his Dark Ritual tightly, still holding the jingling silver keys of the guard in his hands. For a moment, all remains silent as the elevator slowly hums, moving slowly down into the lower floors. Finally, there is a small ding overhead, and the elevator doors slide open, revealing a dark figure standing inside the midst of a dark, lightless cell room.
Episode 21 Missing Pieces
High over the snowy hills of El Nath, the sun gleams weakly underneath a shade of swirling, gray clouds. In the sky, several large shadows temporarily block out the sun, causing several passersby on the avenues of El Nath to stare up into the sky perplexedly.
“Hang tight! We’re about to land!” Arai cries out loud as he, Kunai, and Ivy turn their hang gliders and begin to circle, flying lower and lower towards an empty field nearby town.
Episode 20 A Notch in the Wall
Ryuu suddenly emerges in a dark, dank hallway. He glances behind him and sees a real door leading out from a flight of stairs. He rushes straight up to the door, pulling at the handle, but finding it locked.
Ryuu bares his teeth, turning back and descending the stairs. He glances frustratingly around, and jumps in surprise as he sees a darkly cloaked man standing in front of him. The man removes the hood covering his face, and Ryuu gasps in surprise, his eyes widening as he sees the person in front of him.
Episode 18 The Skies of Ossyria
High up in the sky, four hang gliders, thrust forward by twin engines spouting from their tails, zoom forward through the clouds as the sun shines far above them.
“Morning’s come!” Arai cries out loud over the resonant hum of the machines. He reaches into his pockets, withdrawing a cookie but gasps slightly in surprise as the forceful passing wind blows it away into the air.
Episode 19 The Island of Hazes, Dreams, and Pasts
Ryuu falls quickly from the air, the wind whistling through his ears. He bares his teeth, using the butt of his sword to bat off the Paradox. It relinquishes his leg at last, falling with a shriek plummeting into the ocean below.
Ryuu gasps as he flies faster and faster towards the ground. He turns in the air, removing his hang glider and using his cape as a parachute as he tumbles down towards the ground, landing with a loud rustle through a thick layer of treetop leaves and branches.
Episode 17 Return the Favor
Kunai, Ryuu, Arai, and Ivy walk past the rundown buildings sitting just outside Kerning City. Ryuu takes a quick glance as they pass by an old stadium, it’s walls nearly cracked and splintered, with vines running up its sides.
“Tch,” Ryuu mutters, staring up at the huge mass of the stadium, “it’s been years since there’s been a decent tournament in Kerning…I kinda miss those days.”
