FEAR Chapter Three: Dust and Echoes

The astropath was huddled in the cockpit of the ship, his gnarled hands once again hovering inches from Lieutenant Gemina’s. She braced herself for the mana surge as once again the astropath worked his magic. Frost began to form on the hem of his robes but he took no notice. It was common for astropaths to show residual powers from their previous jobs and Naz’s astropath was no different.
“Zero Alpha this is November One, over.”
“November One this is Zero Alpha, over.”
“This is November One, we have a change of situation, over. I repeat, we have a change of situation. We have encountered hostiles. Possible links to Grid 033/092.”
“Roger November One, primary objective is the same. We have currently no Intel on possible hostiles in the area so proceed with caution, over.”
“This is November One, we have also taken casualties. I repeat, we have also taken casualties. Four personnel have been killed, over.”
“Roger November One, primary objective still the same, we will bring in reserves to reinforce your position. Two Maple Strike Units will be assembled. Time of arrival to be announced, report back in an hour, over.”
“Roger Zero Alpha, this is November One, out.”
The mana pressure fell as the link was disconnected. Gemina went back outside, leaving Naz to converse with his astropath. The objective was still the same – to find the fifty odd base personnel and evacuate them. Four Information Systems Squads and an Inspection Detail. Outside the weather had died down slightly, the harsh torrents of rain turning into a light drizzle. read more

FEAR Chapter Two: Opening Suite

The technician was a mess. What Lieutenant Gemina took for the column’s shadow was actually a massive blood stain. Petty Officer Naz was on his haunches, attempting to communicate to the figure. Giving the technician the once over, he reckoned he could not have been more than twenty-five years old and had probably never seen military action in his life. Naz was no medic but anyone could see than this man needed urgent medical attention or he would die. In his condition, he was not even fit enough to string two coherent words together.
“Naz, Imppala, head over to the ship and bring back a stretcher and a medikit, fast.” Gemina ordered, glancing down at the sorry sight. As she watched the two execute her orders, she had an afterthought and turned to face them.
“Get some thermal blankets as well, otherwise he’ll get pneumonia.” She called out but the wind stole the words from her throat. Frowning, she sprinted up to them as they reached the loading ramp.
“I said, get some thermal blankets, the weather will kill him.” She repeated
“Yes ma’am.” Naz replied, without turning around. The Lieutenant sighed and pivoted on the spot, looking back at the technician.
Or more accurately, where the technician would have been.
Instead there was just the cable support column – with three massive gashes slicing through the metal.
The Heckler was still there, untouched. read more

The mana backwash swirled the water away as the Silver Talon approached the silhouetted station, sending foam ripples out in waves. The matt-black dropship swung in low to avoid a supernatural blanket of fog, sheets of rain deflecting off the prow. Inside was a crack team of the Detachment 303rd, the pride of the Special Maple Navy. In command of the unit was one Lieutenant Gemina. read more

Known officially as Grid 033/092, the mysterious complex was discovered a decade ago during a routine sweep by radar usually used to locate astray ships. Immediately Orbis dock administrators notified authorities and extensive search commenced. A month later, the Orbis dock received an official report which ended with the anomaly being cleared as just a glitch in the radar. What had been actually discovered was far more sinister. read more

Somebody is messing with the controls!

Hi! Hi! Hi!

I’m high. But you can call me Axiom =]

Half Yearlies are over! Bet you’ve heard that one before.
Anyway, I’ve been leveling very very slowly. Compared to Freece, it looks like I’m going backwards. But that of course is exaggeration. I remember someone telling me: “For the millionth time, I’ve told you not to exaggerate!”
Someone pressed the ‘slow’ button. read more

Last of the Shadow Foxes: 17 Illusionist

Crossroads on Eighth – Main Alliance Base

Lightning arced through the street, crackling and flickering everywhere. Alexia tumbled into the gutter, narrowly missing hissing strands of lightning. Ozone was rife in the air and the hunter gagged, retching quietly down the drain. The offensive had picked up the pace, a myriad of mages advancing steadily, protected by ranks of warriors and bowmen. Checking his quiver, he noted that he had roughly a dozen arrows left. Cursing, he notched an arrow to his Bow of Magical Destruction. He would have to make every shot count. read more

Guild Quest, Party Quest and Jump Quest

Okay, this is an account spread over several weeks. I’ll try to be as accurate as I can so bear with me. I won’t talk too long on the GPQ because my friend Nez has already talked about most of it.

[h]Guild Quest[/h]
Logging in to the chat box full or purple. The Guild seemed pretty active and I was glad to know. Right now I was in Sleepywood, same place I logged off after thelastcor helped me with a quest. I was thinking on what I should do when I realised that the guild was talking to me. They were asking me to participate in the Guild Party Quest – located near Perion. Quicky I checked my inventory, scrolls, scrolls, scrolls.. come on, return scroll to Perion. read more

Last of the Shadow Foxes: 16 Gridlock

Main Alliance Base South

Situated between two rocky ridges, the expanding metropolis spilled through the tiny opening, essentially separating the city into two. On the surface, it was just a secluded colony on the boarders of lycanthropes and werewolves. Underneath, it was the mainstay of the El Nath resistance. Usually the inhabitants would be doing miscellaneous duties, just like any other thriving population. Usually there would be nothing to arouse suspicion. Then again, usually there would not be a large detachment of Dark Apostles laying siege to the city. read more

Clones, Rogues and the Silver 25

Well, I’m still here, slowly leveling, watching that yellow bar gradually fill up.
I haven’t died yet so that’s a big plus! ^^
After a quick check of Basil Market, I signed into Maple, checking to see if my buyers were on. Glancing at the EXP bar, a measily 20%, doesn’t look like I’ll be leveling today.
Venting my anger on octopuses in the Construction Site, I some how completed Nella’s Citizen’s request. O_O
YAY..er i think. I can’t remember what I received so it couldn’t have been that good ><
Checking my buddy list again for my buyers, I noticed that my good friend Nez was in Kerning City, more specifically Subway Line One Area Four.
No problem, it’s only four maps of bubblings…right? Right guys? Er..guys?
Well no problem, thank the Dark Lord for Dark Sight. Saved me on using dozens of pots. Passing through the enthusiastic bouncing of the Bubblings before being warped into Stirges. NO I DIED!

Well I would have if not for the four players there, training away at the bothersome bats. While passing through, I may have collected ten Stirge wings for the ‘Luke the Security Guard’ Quest. Next map: small ghosts (Doesn’t know name) then a map later, Nez! (And really BIG ghosts).
My level 6X friend was being AFK on the platform so I waited for him. I got bored and tried my luck on the funny ghosts.
MISS, MISS, MISS. A mage walks up to me: “Dude, you’ll never hit them.”
=.= I realised. Picture One
When NezumiKami does come back he ditches me by changing channels…twice. Later he said he was looking for his trader x_O. ANYWAY!
Make my way out, again thumbs up for Dark Sight and trade with someone at Free Market. read more

Michael’s Wings

His name was Mikal.
Loraine remembered the first time they met, the Dragon Knight’s obsidian black hair, his sparkling emerald eyes and his joyful demeanour. Remembered when she was alone, wandering the dark streets of Kerning City, and how he was her beacon, providing her his knowledge, leading her safely through the notorious slums. He even made sure she returned safe and sound to her residence in Lith Harbour.
Loraine kept thinking of him, whenever she was sad he would cheer her up and whenever he entered the room, it would attract her attention.
With that, Loraine realised that she had fallen in love. read more
