A Sinner Manipulating Love – Two

Second Divide: And So It Begins

Thank you for reading in advance. This chapter is pretty short and less interesting compared to the first one, but oh well, what can you do, right? I’m suffering from a bit of writer’s block right now anyway.

If you haven’t read the first chapter yet, I suggest you do so, or else you’ll become completely lost, which can be found here:

Oh, and I like to thank Shatred for reviewing the last chapter!

Just how I like it; peaceful and quiet…

I placed my hands behind my head, throwing my whole body onto the soft grass. The sweet smell of dew filled my nostrils. I stared onto the horizon; the sky painted with vivid shades of gingery pinks and yellows and dim blues and purples, the sun peering behind the faded clouds while the stars still shone above the heavens. The only sound that could be heard was the soft rustle of leaves as the wind blew against the trees. This, this was my sanctuary.

I sighed in relief; I loved this place more than anything. But the only time I could marvel at such scenery was early in the mornings, during the twilight hour. Twilight was definitely my most favourite time of the day. Why you ask? Because, twilight is the time where either night or day is dominate. It’s balanced; I guess I just like it that way.

Anyway…

Any later and I would suffer by having to let those noobs train here. Ugh, I don’t even want to think about it…

I allowed my eyelids to droop, for I didn’t get a chance to have much sleep the previous night, for the sting of my wounds pestered me the whole night. The wind died down, now, it was soundless.

A few minutes later, my valued silence was broken by the slithering sound of a green snail making its way by. I furrowed my eyebrows, my eyes still closed. Picking up the piece of firewood adjacent to me, I hurled the lumber towards the sound of the whimpering snail, as swiftly and forcefully as I could. Just like I did with my throwing stars.

THUMP!

I heard the sound of the timber hitting something hard. I was just to smirk in triumphant but noticed the slithering sounds the snail made continued. I tilted my head it confusion. ****. If I didn’t hit the snail… Then what the hell did I hit…?

I shot up in revelation to see a girl on her knees, rubbing her temples. My eyes widened at her familiar face. Was that the girl Artemis had chased that night?

She looked to be in pain as slowly crept up to her. I had to be cautious, I wasn’t sure if this was a clever plot laid out by Artemis…

I could hear her faint weeping as I continued to approach her. Oh god, she must have been one of those…what do you call them…? Mary-sues, right? It didn’t surprise me that Artemis would go for that type.

Her weeping quickly then became a callous chuckle. Before I could open my mouth and utter a ‘sorry’ I found myself falling backwards onto the musty ground. I blinked at her twice, my eyes filled with astonishment. She had tossed the same piece of firewood that I threw at her right back at me. (Amazingly, she had thrown it quite hard.)

I watched in awe as she began to point at my reddened nose. She clutched her chest in laughter.

“Oops, it slipped out of my hand.” She sputtered in-between chuckles.

This was one thing I hadn’t been expecting…

Comments…?

Oh and btw, I’m not going to be blogging for a week or so. So yeah, I’ll see you all until then. If you want to keep in contact with me, I’ll still be playing Maple. So contact ‘TsumiTenshi’ of Bera if you like.

I’ll see you all in a week’s worth of time.
