Thank You, Balrog: Part 3

Getting up, I found myself in a small cottage at the foot of a large mountain, at the top a red cap with magma running down the mountain. I looked out the window for a few seconds, and then remembered where I was. I was fully healed now, but I wasn’t sure about Vivian. Looking around the house, I lit a candle and walked around the house.

I was locked inside a 1-room cottage with only a bed, a stack of candles, a bathroom and no electricity at all. Looking through the window, I saw Vivian, unconscious, being carried over a hill on a yeti. She disappeared over the hill in an instant and I began to scream. I realized I was stripped of my claw and stars. Not to mention potions and all my other belongings. Finding some food on the table, I took it with me, and tried to find a way out of the house.

After a few minutes of searching I still didn’t find a way out. Thinking about her, I used raw strength to tear the door open. My muscles pumped up and they ripped through my shirt, and I tore the door off its hinges. Running as fast I could, I caught up to the yeti, and saw my claw and my belongings hanging on his back.

As I grabbed my stuff, I saw a bandit turn around. I had just enough time to load a ilbi into my claw when he came down to me. The yeti stopped and Vivian was awake now.

“What do you want from us?” I asked.

“I want your girlfriend and your belongings, and you out of the picture.” He answered, smiling.

Shouting my battle cry, I boosted my claw, and summoned a shadow. The bandit just smiled and threw 10 mesos on the ground. I looked at them as they exploded and created a huge blast with smoke everywhere. I saw this coming and quickly flash jumped away just as he assaulted me.

Throwing 4 stars, only 2 hit him, and that was hardly enough to move him. I FJed right on the yeti, grabbed Vivian, and FJed away. I threw 4 stars back, and they all hit him right in the face, leaving him a scar on his left eye, rendering it useless forever. Getting to El Nath, I quickly bought a tower scroll and flew back to Ellinia, where it would be much safer for me and her.

As I sat down, I noticed that all of the passengers were looking at me strangely. They all came towards me at the same time, just like zombies. I knew something was wrong, and they would try to hurt us, so I just webbed them and waited for the ship to arrive. By the time it arrived, they were back to normal and with a few stars I released them. Dam, what was up with them? Whatever it was, I’m sure that it had something to do with him.

And that’s when I met Jeket, my friend from the second job advancement test. He was in line before me, and we talked until it was his turn. Since then, we were the best of friends, but he failed the test the first time, and I made it, and he was always a bit jealous of me that I made it on the first try. But he tried to hide it.

After the third job advancement, we haven’t seen each other much. He decided to make money in the shops, while I decided to train hard and become stronger. We haven’t met since. He decided to postpone his trip to Ludibrium, a business trip. He let us stay at his house until we got control of the situation, and bought a home of our own.
And then, on the third day of staying at his house, something happened to him: The same thing that happened to those on the ship. And I had to.. kill him.
