Out Of Their Way

Starting a new character is annoying, everyone knows that, but I guess you have to when you’ve got 17 SP into Energy Bolt (don’t ask).

Making my second cleric, I decided to go on a skill path in which I would get the most MP possible. In short it means you put your first SP into Improving MP Recovery other than Energy Bolt. It continues like this until you max out Improving Max MP. 5 levels til Energy Bolt.

Being a magician, as those who are know, starting you have no strength at all. None. Zip. Nada. One damage to a slime is very appealing T.T So I know the only way to level up like this is to have someone train me, I know, not so great, but its the only way.

So, I traveled to Henesys (to head to Pig Beach), and one screen to the left, I started asking for a trainer. And since the Henesys Hunting Grounds are packed, I expected there to be an answer. None. Desperate levelers swarmed around me slaughtering snails and bouncing mushrooms. None even stopped to type a ‘sry no’ or ‘can’t’ to me. Sadly I switched channels. Once again I repeated the message to the mob, and got an answer.

A level 15 archer had offered to help me level (I don’t remember the name but I would gladly put it if I did) , of course not the best leveler I GLADLY accepted his help. I told him the way to Pig Beach and we went. Alas, though the swarming army of pigs quickly overwhelmed him. He offered to go somewhere else to train, but I refused. Pig Beach would be the best place to train. Changing channels I started over, asking everyone who listened to help me in my pursuit.

Of course, all of those out there who have had newbs asking to be trained talk to them, you aren’t very friendly to them (at least I wasn’t >.>). And many just gave me the cold shoulder or just a simple ‘no’. (But at least I never got a ‘no n00b’ or ‘go away’). One even partied me and told me to give him my pan lid.

Getting to lvl 12 took about 6 trainers, some like the lvl 15 archer who had good intentions to the lvl 35 I/L wizard who brought me up two levels. The lvl 30ish Hunter who famed me randomly, or the level 23 rogue who was already trying to help others trained who invited me to the party. And the Spanish speaking party who I could not comprehend yet still trained me even though we could only communicate through facial expressions. The lvl 24 random magician who brought me up a level. The lvl 42 Hunter. All of these people were quite unlike me, who on my other characters COMPLETELY ignored newbs. This has really opened my eyes today.

I commend all of these souls who went out of their way to help people in which they would not get anything in return (sort of unless ‘thank you’ is something >.>)

Just one more level to go. (Zomg, like no more trainers anymore >.< Where did they go?)

  1. Wow, that must be tough to do that and not have any person set to level you up. I went completely Max MP Recovery until it was maxed, not a point in anything else besides the 5 in MP Recovery. I could only do this because my sister had leveled me up completely (for a few ores). I thought that was hard, so props for you for actually searching for trainers and such. ^_^

  2. Yeah, I have siblings too, but we all sort of messed up on our characters. So they started over too, so they couldnt train me. >.>
