NORTHERN MARKETS
Episode 39+ Enter the Roikans
Municipal Hall, Henesys
Peter Jalonska, over 6 feet tall, long silver hair tied back, sleek, but mean looking face, leaned forward and placed his big hands on Mayor Screw’s desk and looked the little mayor in the eye. The Legendary Golden bow slung on his back gleamed in the light from the white crystal hanging from the ceiling. The other high level men stared at the mayor.
“And why should that be of your concern?” Jalonska demanded.
Mayor Screw produced a paper. “This was sent from Orbis last week- it says they sent some GMs to inspect the town in El Nath, and the town isn’t even threatened! This report said that the Yetis are in fact hanging out even further away from town than normal! And the wolves can’t even be found! As for Dead Mine, Zakum is getting his ass kicked by parties on a regular basis!”
“And the Equitas?” another bowman asked.
“Those fat bastards packed up and went down to Florina for the winter! I’m catching all the heat from Orbis for this! They want to know immediately where 2000 high level bowman are right now! They sent a guy to Riprey, but he says no one from the Justice Arrow is out there! How the hell am I supposed to deal with this!?”
“Don’t deal with it, Mayor Screw, FIX it! Now…um is not a good time for Orbis to be nosing in on us!” Jalonska said, his mustache puffing with every breath.
“That is NOT good enough!” Screw protested. “Orbis is threatening to raise taxes on us again, and this time it’s a 20% hike! That is at least 200K per household in Henesys! So I want you hot shot bowmen to deal with this problem now!”
In a finger-snap, Jalonska drew his bow and an arrow and shot Screw! The arrow struck through the old man’s right shoulder, but the force threw him off his chair onto the hardwood floor. Jalonska jumped over the desk and landed on the man, slamming his right foot to the man’s neck.
“You listen to me, asshole! The leaders of the Arrow are all descendents of Father Jalonska and his kin! Insulting us is like insulting him! You give me one good reason why I shant* shoot this next arrow through that thick skull of yours!”
he snarled, drawing another arrow and put the tip of it on the man’s ear.
“….[choke]…The messenger….from…Orbis…he’s detained…in…Field P13!”
Jalonska released the arrow. It blasted through the old guy’s head with such force the head exploded, spraying blood, bone, and brains everywhere.
The Bow Master stood up and looked at his crew. “Skyrow!” he called.
A long blond haired Ranger wearing a gleaming red-green oska suit with his qurion bow slung on his back stepped forward, accompanied by a woman Ranger in the same suit but carrying an Angel bow.
“Yes, Master Jalonska?”
“Is your crew settled in? I have ordered the people of Henesys to accommodate every Roikan, no questions asked!”
“Yes, sir, and thank you. We are very grateful for your hospitality,” Skyrow said in a thick Russian like accent.
“I am placing you incharge of your men, Skyrow! Even though your level is low compared to most of your men, I like the leadership in you. They listen, so you will call the shots according to my orders, got it?”
“Yes, sir,”
“Good. I am planning a light scale hit on Kerning City’s crap holes, namely the immigrants’ areas and the noobs’ areas. Stir things up, and see how your people do. The citizens up there are questioning the city council’s policies on keeping Northerners, hackers and noobs. The people fear they will bring violence and instability. We will do a light strike, shake things up, but for the most part, I want the Noobstown buildings destroyed, especially in the H-Kong area,” Jalonska said, pointing at a map on the wall.
“The area is hacker-saturated, and we can not tolerate that! Everyone, see to it every Maplean and Roikan bowman is rested, fed, and fully equipped. By 6am tomorrow morning, We move out!”
“Sir, yes, sir!”

Bob and Squeep slaved away in the kitchen of the house cooking steaks and stir-fry for Kaiju and Ari. As they worked, Bob eavesdropped on their conversation. While Ari held her baby, feeding her a bottle, Kaiju told her of his adventures abroad; in a country called Roika. He told her of the Justice Arrow assisting the acrobats, assists and mercs in their fight against mantis infestations, the Pumpkin people who threatened to attack the city of Saint Morning, and the Mia infestation that made everything worse on the island. From what Bob heard, a few thousand hackers managed to flee MapleWorld long ago and sought refuge among the Mias and the Pumpkin people. No wonder the Justice Arrow’s men went to Roika- to destroy the hackers and ended up helping the other guys drive back the Pumpkin and Mia people. Kaiju was excited when he talked of a possible war with the Voilet Magician Troupe when
the Justice Arrow bombarded the Mia settlements and Pumpkin Town with arrow bombs while the few high level lightning and fire mages killed the masters of that terrorist group. He said the VMT withdrew its challenge and agreed to keep to their own areas. Kaiju said after the hackers, mias and Pumpkin people were killed, the Roikans agreed to join the Justice Arrow in their war in MapleWorld. They siezed a huge ship at St. Morning Station and flew back.
“So where is the ship?” Ari asked as the baby squealed happily.
“I can’t tell you that, dear. It’s hidden somewhere the GMs will never find it.”
“Dear, we could all get in a lot of trouble! The government does not want people leaving the country! And the GMs and army will kill all of these foreign people! They have to go back!”
“Ari, calm down! Those fat politicians up in Orbis are too close minded and dumbfounded to realize that their policy of keeping this nation completely closed off is useless. We have made history with the Roikans! Orbis fears links to the outside world will cause even more instability in our country! This is a good link. We are forming an alliance. We assisted them in their war in Saint Morning, now they will help us in our war on the hackers! These are great people, dear, we must learn to accept them,”
And they continued talking for a while as Bob and Squeep served them their dinner.
“So you have to go out again?” Ari asked with disappointment in her voice.
“Only for a day or two. We’re going to take a practice run on Kerning tomorrow before the rest of the Arrow return. After that when they arrive, we will celebrate, then start our new campaign!”
