MapleSAP Special: Justice Arrow (10)

MapleSAP Special:
Justice Arrow (10)New Arrivals

While I was in the office answering Chief Jalonska’s questions, Rannbo was also at the base, secretly recording as a truck full of new arrivals pulls in. This is Rannbo’s report:+The truck looked like the typical mover’s truck. It pulled up infront of the detainment building and some bowmen came outside to greet the driver, who was also a bowmen. The latch was pulled back, and the door reeled up.I saw at least 20 scared kids’ faces peering out as they huddled in the back, shivering.”Allright! Out with ye! Let’s go! Move it!”Some of the kids started to jump out, then the troops got impatient and started hauling them out one by one.”Move it! Line up against that wall!” another ranger barked, waving his bow towards the side of the building. The noobs and children trudged through the snow to the wall. They only wore street clothes, which the cold air penetrated and chilled them to the bone.”Pick up the pace!” the same ranger barked. The children and noobs were all lined up against the wall. The driver walked by them, checking them down on a list. “Remove your name tags and hand them over!” The lead ranger barked. Some of the kids did, others didn’t.The ranger walked up to a green haired boy who refused to take off his necklace. “Didn’t you hear me? Take off your name tag!””Fuqk you, man!” the kid spat back defiantly. The ranger, level 90 at least, hid the boy in the face with his bow as hard as he could. The boy fell back, slamming hard against the snow. Another ranger closed in and put his boot on the kid’s chest and pressed hard.”You listen to me, boy! This is your home, and we are your family! You better start shaping up, son!”The ranger grabbed the kid’s name tag, and jerked it hard, snapping off the silver chain around his neck.”Stand up!” the ranger said as he grabbed the kid by the throat, and lifted him to his feet, and slammed him against the wall.Another bowman, accompanied by two Rangers, walked by the kids, and held a Meiger Counter close to each of them. A meiger counter is a small device that detects magic energy and radiation. The device emits small beeps at irregular beat as it is waved infront of each of the 54 kids. The buzzer goes off as it is waved over a blue haired girl.”Magician here” the man said. The boss Ranger nodded to the rangers accompanying the man. The Rangers grabbed the frightened 10 year old girl and dragged her off. “Well? What’s she good for?” the ranger demanded.”I’m getting about 45mU” the man said. “Kill her and put her in storage!”The little magician panicked; tore away from the rangers and tried to run. She tripped over a buried rock and fell down. Without any hesitation, both Rangers cocked their bows ans fired two arrows each into the girl’s head. They pierced her skull, killing her instantly. The kids stood against the wall, paralyzed in fear as another magician kid was pulled away. This time he was taken out of view then killed. The lead ranger nodded as the driver boarded the truck and drove off. “Magicians are sin! Use of magic is sin! It’s one thing to use mana fuel to power a truck or when there’s no petrogas. The Universal Migrator would be most disgraced to see humans; his creations using such caustic energy. Magic is not yours; it belongs solely to the planet, and is for the planet’s use only! Magicians claim they are one with the earth, but they steal the energy and use it for themselves! Any righteous passage for one who produces magic is death! Am I clear?”the children and noobs nod their heads in fear. “Get them inside!” The noobs and children were all marched single file into the detainment building or ‘jail’ as I call it.”Turn to the left! Eyes front!” The Ranger shouted. The noobs did as they were told. Chief Jalonska and Father Lykon appeared.”That’s Haddis, supreme commander of the Justice Arrow, I’m Chief Jalonska, the commander-in-chef, the man in the robes is Father Lykon, the holy disciple which you will gladly take his advice. and you bunch are all little noobs, taken from the sinful place you once called home brought here. You will all undergo a test. Some of you will be servants to the people of Henesys, gratefully working hard for your master. Some of you can become promising Bowmen and serve with the Justice Arrow in the future. The rest of you, if you fail, will be servants doing all the menial tasks that no one else do; because we reserve those jobs to the wretched kind who can still serve a purpose. Those of you who fail miserably will be put to death. Any questions?”

“Screw this! When do we go home?” one boy says. Jalonska looked at Haddis and nodded. Haddis stood over the kid and shouted, “This IS your home, you little maggot! We are your superiors now! You will obey EVERY order given to you by us, or any righteous resident of this town!! Got that, you little cockbag?!” Haddis kicked him; driving his knee into the kid’s gut. “On your feet!”
“Rule one, children!” Jalonska said. “No blashpemy. We will not take the Universal Migrator’s or the Lord’s name in vain or curse. The other rules you will figure out as we move along. So put your trust and faith in the Migrator, because now you all belong to us. Welcome to Henesys!”
The noobs and kids were taken to another room where they were splashed with cold water and pushed into cells stuffed with straw. Later some servants came by with left over and stale food. A few days later, the clouds parted and the Sun was out. All of the noobs were hustled out of the detainment building and taken to the training grounds in the field west of the base. The training grounds were patches of evergreen trees, dead trees, obstacle courses, a glass building with wooden fitness equipment.”This is the initiation test! To see what your stats are!” Addis announced. “Don’t think last night’s beef and pasta was for nothing! This exam will determind your lives and futures so you damn well take it seriously!”
The kids stood shivering in the cold. The ranger paced about as he kept talking.”After the stat test, you will each test out three different weapons; the sword, the dagger, or the bow! If you pass the hunting and combat stages of this test, and your Level 10, you will be assigned a class! If you are not level 10, you will train out in the woods under the authority of a Ranger. Outside of training, you will all be living with your new families and serving them well.

The exam was about two hours long and anything less than hard. The kids were tested for their strength, dexterity, intellegence, and luck. Those who failed the strength and dex tests were taken away by bowmen. No doubt they would become noob slaves. The others who were still smart would be raised in town and enrolled in the schools.

When I asked Chief Jalonska about the new arrivals, he said that the Justice Arrow does not kidnap the children. He insists the JA collects them while theyre young and bring them to Henesys where they are raised in the proper moral society that the bowmen envision. He also did not hesistate to tell me that the magicians were killed ‘for the good of mankind and the planet’
“Magicians are sin. They do not fit this enviornment,” the Chief told me, “It’s unfortunate that humans are born with that dangerous energy in them. They are a threat to themselves, and to everybody around them. Their ascendents tapped into the planet’s magic field and stole the energy, and it is passed down from generation to generation. To right the wrong, they must be killed,”
“Have any magicians that the Justice Arrow has encountered ever been a threat?” I asked.
“Yes,” The Chief snapped back. “Blasted ice and lightning mages burn our bowmen to the point they cannot even stand! The poison mages inflict us with disease! They use the planet’s very life force to cause death, despair and disease! And those who pretend to be innocent are dispicable in their own way! They play with the magic, like a fool plays with fire! They have a rotten attitute towards their fellow man, and feed into the lies and deciet of that wretched cult in Ellinia!”

Chief Jalonska was referring to the majority of mages in Ellinia, Victoria’s magic capital. Magicians are rumored to act in an eccentric way in the eyes of narrow minded conservative folk in their body movements, language, behavior, even their use of magic. In Ellinia alone, each year sees more than 200 incidents where mis-use of magic energy or mana fuel has resulted in injuries, caused accidents, or property damage. Every now and then at the magicians’ school, one magician shorts himself or herself out and risks death. As for the religion that magicians employ, only 15% of all magicians are actually religios, and those who are place their faith in the planet and the cosmos. This religion is private, quet, and does not cause the hostility, hate, and racism that the Church of Jalonska promotes.

On the other hand in Henesys, the propaganda machine paints foul portraits of magicians, emitting the message that ‘magicians are equal to hackers and satanists,” The general population hate magicians all together, only see death by fire as the proper way to dispose of them and ‘release their spirits’.
Mana fuel is entirely restricted here. The only small supply is used to power the trucks and farm vehicles.

The same message that the Justice Arrow issues to the people is also in KLON’s documentary. When the program was aired on TV last year, anger exploded from the targeted groups. A lawsuit was eventually filed against the J.A. and KLON, but the courts dismissed the message as ‘hot gas.’

Henesys’ views on magicians raised up the big question: Why is the Justice Arrow collecting magicians dead or alive?
Why do they have a camp near the border to Zhong Guo? What is the Justice Arrow’s intent in this covered operation?

  1. I’ll comment here, since no one has yet to post anything here.

    >< The JA are such sickos, dude. But they are starting to sound more and more like Salem witch-hunters, with the whole ‘we are against all magic’ thing. ><
