Chapter 3

Ranger was scared when he saw the massive gates of the ancient temple, but he felt reassured when he felt Rosana’s touch against his skin. She gave him the courage to pursue this destiny. Before heading inside, he said one thing to his love:
“Rosy, if I don’t survive, I want to tell you this: I love you.” He gave her one last kiss on the lips and opened the magnificent doors that held Zakum prisoner all these years.

“THE BATTLE BEGINS, PUNY HUMANS!” Zakum roared.

Ranger quickly shot six arrows to one of Zakum’s arms. The monster seemed unaffected. Zakum quickly grabbed him with one of his numerous hands.

“YOU DARE TO ATTACK ME? I AM THE GREAT ZAKUM! NO ONE MAKES IT OUT ALIVE ONCE YOU HAVE ENTER THOUGH THE DOORS OF DOOM! PUNY— ARGGGG!” Zakum said.

“No one does that to MY Ranger,” yelled Rosana, shooting a Fire Arrow.
“Thanks, my love,” Ranger said.
Together, they defeated the great Zakum. When they were done, Ranger unexpectedly went down on one knee:

“Rosy, we have been though a lot, and you know that I love you. I may bear no ring or jewel of any sort, but will you marry me?”

Rosana let the tears freely flow from her eyes. She pulled him up and hugged him.
“Yes, I will, Ranger, I will.”
Together in that temple, where the great Zakum had fallen, they embraced.

Epilogue

“Daddy, Daddy, I defeated a snail!” an excited child showed his father the snail shell.
“Ranger…wow! It’s your first snail shell,” his father said, “Honey, Ranger just killed his first snail!”
“That’s very nice but…” the mother said, “RANGER JR.! CLEAN UP YOUR ROOM!”
“Aw mom, just tell me that story where you and daddy defeated Zakum one more time,” whined the child, “Please?”
“Okay Ranger,” the mother said, “Once upon a time…”
