Beginnings of Heroes ::: Ch. 3

Everybody continued training when a bright light engulfed Athena with the words “LEVEL UP” in bright letters above her.

“What the heck was that?” Reemjah asked with a O_o.
“I don’t know. But I got stronger! Heck yeah!!” Athena yelled.
“Congratulations.” Grendel said while killing a ribboned pig.
“Thanks. I feel like testing out my new abilities.” Athena said. With a quick double-shot she dispatched a ribboned pig without even trying. “Wow I’ve become a lot stronger.”
“Everyone run!” D yelled running towards them. “Quickly! Everybody must get out of here!”
“What’s the hurry D?” Reemjah asked.
“There’s a Balrog headed this way!”
“A Balrog? It can’t be. Balrogs will never come near Victoria Island.”
“Well now they are! We have to get out of here!” D kept yelling.
“Everybody stand back!” Grendel yelled. The Balrog appeared in the sky, it’s dark shadow blacking out the landscape. Grendel muttered a spell and a white light engulfed him. Suddenly, an angel appeared above him and attacked the Balrog. The Balrog was killed immediately.
“Amazing.” Athena quietly said.
“Look out!” Reemjah yelled. “There are more coming!” Grendel looked in a tired gaze. He told them to leave immediately, saying he would hold them off.
“Wait, where is the young boy!” D cried.
“Oh no.” Athena said, gazing across the fields with her honed vision. She saw the young boy surrounded by Crimson Balrogs.
“No!” Grendel cried as he started teleporting across the fields. He reached his grandson and killed many Balrogs, but was still too late to save his grandson, Matthew. He gazed at the horizon. More and more Balrogs started appearing. But also, more and more monsters started coming too. Pigs were spawning uncontrollabely. The mushrooms in the Ant Tunnels were multiplying at an exponential rate. Creatures across the Island were becoming ferocious.
“What is happening?” Athena whispered.
