I walked through the damp streets of old Kerning. Not much there, just dirt and darkness. The only illumination was from the neon signs of the few bars nearby. I felt as if someting was chasing me, so I walked faster, and eventually, into a bar. I sat down at the counter and sighed. Ever since that fateful day, I was on the run. Fear pushed me through the land. Guilt taught me how to live. Remorse is what kept me from suicide. As you can see, I was on the brink of despair.
– “I am alive”-
I woke up with a start. I was still in the bar, apparently I had just dozed off. I walked up to the waiter and sat.
“You gonna order anything?” said the waiter.
“No.” a voice said, pretty sure it was my own.
“Who the hell are you?” said the waiter.
I looked behind me, and I saw a dark figure approach the waiter.
“I am your worst nightmare….” and he disappeared in a tornado of light.
I got up and ran.
Part 2 will come out shortly.
