My Adventures,as Talen the Thief-ch 3 S2

Sorry about the delay. I haven’t had enough time since school started. Oh well.

Hope you like it.

Me: WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO?
Old man: GATHER ME THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS.

He handed me a scroll with a list of items on it:
• 1 iced shard fin from cold shark
• 3 shark dentures from shark
• 5 butter-roasted squid from lethal squid

I sighed and gave the list to Tim to look at.

Me: OK. WE’LL BE BACK WITH THESE ITEMS.
Old man: Ok, but one question. Why were you shouting? It’s not like I’m deaf.

That knocked me off-balance. I put my palm on my forehead and sighed again. We had no choice so I asked for directions of where I could find these monsters.

Old man: right here on this clearing. But you’ll have to be careful; they come in mobs on this clearing, instead of one by one.
Me: We can handle it.
Old man: If you say so.

I realised much later how close that was to being a lie. We walked to the side of the clearing, near the force field. I plunged my hand deep into the water and shook the water about furiously. We backed away from the wall then.

Matt: I guess you know how to attract monster then.
Me: I had to level quickly when I was here last and I found making the water move the easiest way to summon mobs.

When I glanced at the old man, his face was pale and shaking in disapproval. I realised an instant later. Almost 10 lethal squids. I cast my shadow partner skill and flash jumped out of reach, launching ilbis by the 8s. They were running low. I had forgotten to refill them after zakum. I cast the last of my ilbis away and brought out my almighty steelys I had used from levels 58-69 when I bought my first set of ilbis. I saw Matt and his fairfrozen with the skill dragon roar and buster so many times, I lost count. He also used dragon blood and iron wall several times. His main skill was however, slash blast. It was Tim however, that did the most amusing part. He used ice strike. In an underwater area. I thought his intelligent was high, but, maybe not. The water around us started to crackle as some of it turned to frosty white ice. However, it did freeze the 10 lethal squids so I didn’t complain. When the ice finally melted, the all disappeared.

I stole another glance at the crotchy old man and was delighted to see him standing there, mouth agape and eyes wild. I smiled and collected the items for us to share. The money was unwanted, leaving me to force it in Sam’s backpack. I did so and moved onto the equips. We seemed to be really lucky. There were gold drop earrings and rose earrings. I liked the gold drop earrings so I switched my rose earrings to them. They looked so much better on me. I gave the new set of rose earrings to Sam, but she refused. She took my pair instead. I smiled. I gave the new pair to Tim and he switched them with his own. I counted the butter-roasted squids and there appeared to be 6. I popped them into a black sack I produced. I pulled out a orange coloured scroll and squinted at the writing on it.

Me: It seems to be a 60% scroll for glove for attack…
Sam: Whoa! So lucky!
Me: Yeah. You can have it.

I handed it to her, but she absolutely refused to take it.

Me: Ok, we’ll give it to the old man.
Sam [still reluctantly]: Fine, I’ll hold onto it…
Me: I knew you would see it my way.

Before I even gave the scroll to Sam, we were attacked again. This time by stronger monsters. They were sharks. I was smashed straight in the back from one of them. Sam screamed but she was healing me. I groped my way up before I counted them, there were 5 of them.

Me [in thought]: Easy.

I regained my composure and held onto the scroll for now. I took out my steely throwing knives and called upon my booster powers and increased my attacking rate. I decided to throw with both arms every now and then. When I saw the group of gigantic sharks weaken, I smiled.

Me [in thought]: Time to finish them off.

I cast the very last of my mana power into my palms once more. Two avengers appeared. Matt was calmly hammering the soft underside and Tim was methodically shooting composite arrows, but Sam noticed my double attack. Her eyes were wide as I stood forward and jumped into the air, launching the multi-monster attack. The avenger skipped off all of the sharks, leaving deep gashes behind. The gashes were long and littered with blood. The sharks faultered a moment and then shuddered. They faded into the abyss of darkness, leaving behind their valuables.

There was nothing this time, except four shark dentures. I smiled, we only needed three. The next monster, to my disappointment, wasn’t a cold shark. It was a group of black squids mixed with bone fishes.

Me: Man, are they trying to kill us? This is just too easy.

I regretted my comment an instant later because a large and bright blue cold shark dove out of the water.

Me: Shoot.

I leapt back and got my steelys prepared. I cast just single attacks as my mana power had drained completely when I used avenger. Instead of two hands, however, I used only one. The other hand was searching over my shoulder for a mana potion of any kind. My hand brush past a bottle cap and I grabbed it out. It was white. I cursed as I searched for more.

I accidentally stuck my finger into some gooey and sticky resin. I brought it out and saw it was a deep purple colour. I smiled as I drank the sticky dew from the hard container. I felt my mana power grow from nothing to everything. It was a great feeling, the tingling I haven’t felt for many months now. I summoned my four avengers and aimed them all at the cold shark. It left deep wounds, each spurting blood and then left it. It boomeranged to each of the black squids and then moved onto bone fishes, chopping each in half down the middle. The fishes faded and disappeared but the squids took minimal damage from their thick shells protecting their soft and mushy bodies.

I fell back onto my buttocks panting, puffing. I cursed at the avenger’s lack of casualties. I got up and started to throw lucky sevens at the cold shark. Surprisingly, it was the first to go down, after the bone fishes. We strived to keep the squids in check and only succeeded barely. We were all worn out after the fight, but that was just too bad.

We were attacked by some fish. Six to bee exact, they were gobys. Although gobys were weak, we were tired out and off guard. They came in a group, and overwhelmed us…
